My first ride on a 'Busa surprised me how much I felt at home on it straight away. The plan was to take it out for a test ride for at least an hour, and I felt at one with it before I had even left the carpark of the motorcycle shop. I had made up my mine to buy it within two blocks (hadn't even used the power at that stage), but still rode into the hills and played for around an hour. That was at the beginning of 2007, and it is still my favourite bike to wheel out of the garage for a play in the hills or extended road trips.

I'm 59 years old and love my Hayabusa, had it seven years now and raised the bars by 8 inches and extended all the cables and lowered the pegs by 1 inch because the riding position really sucks depending on your size and age. Only ever used C mode once in heavy rain in the mountains, if you know how to ride and control your right hand you don't need the modes. Fitted a top box and toured all around the UK with my wife on the back. I will never sell my Hayabusa. Cheers

Hayabusa is the one of the best looking bikes thats why its looks are unchanged even after 17 YEARS. There is no such Sports Bike that haven't change its look. When Hayabusa was launched in 99' there were lots of talks about its weird looks. Its just that its looks are so advanced, perfect blend of science and art that we still love it after 17 and more years to come. Hayabusa looks best on a muscular guy, thats why the second slight revision in 08' was made to look even more muscular.

Dude no disrespect but your. review of this bike is terrible. Im not saying you have to praise it im all about differing opinions but this was not accurate. I have been a Busa rider for a long time and can tell you a few things. Yes the bike is big but none of that interferes with the ride. No its not a 600 in the twisties but I garauntee I could could mostly keep up on one. You not liking the curves again is your opinion but the Busa was designed with aerodynamics in mind bigtime. Straight edges create form drag and curves cut through the wind with little coefficient of drag. Suzuki had top speed in mind for this bike and thats what gets it there. I dunno how you feel like you lean forward on this bike but not a supersport. The busa does not have a tail thats angled upward. It sits low and flat. Ive rode supersports and thats a bike that makes me feel hunched over. I think the Busa is a very balanced, very fast, and very comfortable machine. Itll do 200mph if you want or it can cruise you to work in comfort. Its not the best in the turns but does a damn good job in them. It is heavy but not enough to notice it when you ride. I guess the point Im making is I feel like you are more partial to supersport than a sport touring bike and it shows. If your gonna review this bike I just think your mind should have been open a little more. Like you said they are a totally different animal and shouldnt be compared to one another.

While everyone has an opinion...I'm not so sure a guy who rides an R6 & is a 600cc fan is best person to review a 1000 or Hayabusa. Soon as he gave it a Lil go on highway he was already freaking out a bit. Not all bikes are meant for all people to ride. I've seen videos & have friends who wheelie the shit out of busas or lean that mofo over in a corner. Size of bike & a person's abilities come down to practice, skill, & limit of fear. If you're too scared to do it you're probably not going to or you're fuck up attempting whatever you're trying to do. This video is like Ricky Gadson complaining about how slow a Ninja 250 is and how the handlebars feel weird etc etc. He might not be best to review that kinda bike for me lol. Either way awesome channel & thanks for putting out effort & videos.

This review begins at 13:21 You buy this bike if you love sports bikes but also love putting in 400 mile runs. Also you buy it for an experience like no other. You can ride quick on the highway with barely any effort. Imagine you running and panting to get to 12MPH. Now imagine getting to 12MPH by hopping on a skateboard down hill. That is how this bike is. It's like an S63 benz. You can go quick but you feel like you are chilling...OR you can pull violently at ANY SPEED

It’s one thing about the busa, if you love it, you just do. The shape and size is the reason I bought it. Am 6’3, need the size. Everyone that has been on the bike always say the same thing “OMG”… speed. Well, with that speed comes size.
@aikidragonpiper715 жыл бұрын
The iconic shape of the Hayabusa was designed in a wind tunnel to help it achieve its high speeds . The original stock 1999 Suzuki Hayabusa hit a top speed of 194 mph . At that time it became the fastest production bike in the world. With mods it easily went 200+ mph. After that all sport bikes have a governor on them limiting them to a 186 mph.

I have this bike after watching Chase, but it took a while. I originally wanted to buy the GSXR 1000 but my wife (sigh) wanted to come to the bike shop with me. Then I ended up with a pos Triumph America because she liked it. Note: never take your wife or girlfriend to a bike shop when you are going to purchase. The Triumph engine would cut out on me and it was gutless. On and on I could go. Decided to trade it in on a brand new Hayabusa 2 years ago and have been super happy ever since. Love this bike and just did an oil change and brake fluid flush myself on Saturday. Had handlebar risers put on from new and that makes a huge difference to the riding comfort.

I used the mode selector once to see if it worked and once when I got caught in a huge downpour. The mass of the bike is really only apparent when stopping and the seating position contributes to the feel. If you notice, the seat height is actually lower than most 600 supersports which contributes to the slow steering feel. When you get over 130mph the maximum value of the windscreen and lower center of mass due to this seating position is realized. The description you give is pretty accurate for such a short ride. Riders of the Busa are rarely ambivalent towards it; they either love it cause it scares the crap out of them or they hate it for the same reason. However the bike is surprisingly easy to handle even for relatively inexperienced riders who are trained and ride within the limits of their training and skill level. This is a good,realistic test ride description. Keep up the good work!

I think there is two kinds of people concerning the hayabusa. Either you love it completly or you don't like it at all. I liked your review because it was very honest. At least you know what suits you best. I was sitting on one to test how it feels and what I liked about it was the fact that my arms weren't bent as much as on my R6. I prefer to ride bikes like this because the 600cc are a lil too flickable.. As far as manuverabilty goes it's all subject to what your used to. A hayabusa will not "feel" as flickable simply because of the weight. Not because it's a bad design. Imagine putting a hayabusa engine on a R6 frame. Prolly couldn't ride it. Just my .02

Hey bud, couple of my subs directed me over here to check your review and see what i thought, being a full time busa rider. Some of them didnt think it was a fair review, but i can totally see your point, especially seeing as you ride an R6. The busa definitely overwhelms you when you first get on it and takes a while to build confidence to throw it around and open the gas. You should feel it go once it hits 9k if you think the bottom is ballsy lol. The ride position is certainly stretched out and if you havent got a decent reach you might be in strife. My arms are bent riding mine, so its pretty good for my size. As for all your other points, again, i think, sorry, i know they are all amplified by the fact your everyday bike is an r6. They are just complete polar opposites to each other. I just wished you could spend a week on one to get comfy with how it works. Im sure you could learn to love it! But anyway, it sounds weird as a busa rider but i totally agree with your points coming from a supersport perspective. im sure some guys will get butt hurt, as they did when i reviewed the s1000rr, but people have to realise that what one dude loves, might just not be for someone else. Keep up the good work and ride safe. Ps. Subscribe to "the beard and the busa" lol

I’ve owned a 2006 Hayabusa. It had the most comfort to power ratio I’ve ever found in a bike. My GSXR600, my friend’s Yamaha R1 and Kawasaki ZX 10, Theyre all set up very aggressively and had paper-thin seats. The hayabusa is angled more towards a natural seating position and actually has a large comfortable Seat. Maybe it’s because I have long arms but I found Comfort to be one of the main and surprising attractions of the Hayabusa. And then you got one of the fiercest four-cylinder mass produced engines ever built beneath you singing like an angel with a large fuel capacity tank Brembo brakes, silky smooth six speed transmission, and the way the fairings are arranged (for aerodynamics) Most of your body is guarded from the wind which makes riding in the cold heck of a lot easier most of your body is guarded from the wind which makes riding in the cold heck of a lot easier. And on top of all that, it has a fuel gauge, oil pressure gauge, clock and mpg estimator??? Most cars don’t even have an mpg estimator, most bikes don’t have a clock or even a tachometer. The Hayabusa may look a bit ridiculous but it’s a Japanese masterpiece.

I personally ride a tl1000r at the moment which is busa sized with massive engine braking. Love the big bikes. Comfy, stupidly fast, and lots of wind protection. If your a bigger fella like myself, 6'3" 220 the big bikes are a perfect fit.

I recentlly acquired a 2003 gsxr 1000 (wich I'm thrilled with), but before, I tryied a busa, since I was in doubt wich one to go for. I hadn't riden a bike for 15 years and my last one (and first) was a gsxr 1100. It was with a smile on my face that I watched this video and your impressions just now, because I had the same feeling with the busa. It felt just like driving a truck, and when leaning, it was not you but the bike that did all the job, like if it had a will of it's own. The position did not feel natural at all, and when I handed over to the owner, a friend of mine, I remember saying : man, this bike is only good on 2 sittuations ; either stopped or above 150km/h. On the other hand, as soon as I put my ass on the gsxr everything made sense. The position, the throtlle, the engine, everything felt familiar even after 15 years. I am now getting to know her, because I know there's a lot of differences between these generations, and I respect the power alot, but nevertheless I believe I made the right choice :D it leans like a bike, it brakes like a bike, it revs like a bike.

Compared to a 600 this thing is a rocket. Both bikes are designed with different purposes in mind, each cool in its own right. The feeling of blazingly fast acceleration on a Busa is incredible. Ride safe.

The Hyabusa is really for anyone who wants to ride but taller people love the Hyabusa. Your core has to be strong to ride this bike and all those other liter bikes are are for track riding. And they are made a lil tighter in the pocket for cornering and leaning. The Hyabusa has a lot of power my cousin has a 2017 I rode it recently. I was very surprised at all the bad reviews about how it rides and all that other mumbo jumbo until I rode one myself. It shifts smooth, the throttle is perfect and yes in 2nd gear I was at like 120mph!!!... it will move out but the rider has to respect the power other than that I loved it. If you never rode one before don't listen to all these personalized reviews ride one for yourself and then make a sound concious decision they are awesome bike to own.

I daily an 07 hayabusa. That’s the last year of the 1st gen. No power modes, no traction control, no autoblipper or rev matching. I’ve ridden it in the rain and almost every day I ride it in twisting mountain roads. I have had zero issues ever and only had 600cc riding experience prior to getting the busa. These bikes aren’t as crazy as these reviewers make them out to be I promise haha

Past owner of an R6, currently on a gen 2 busa, and bro... you cray lol. I'm 5'3" 115lbs and i honestly feel more comfortable on my busa than the 08 R6 I had. hella comfortable, like a sport couch. Everyone has their own opinion, and to me, every bike is weird at first, but after a week or two it becomes natural. I know I couldn't go back to a 600cc.

Wow, that thing really intimidated him didn't it? Maybe if he had ridden it for a week or more he would get used to the extra mass it has over his daily ride R6. I don't find the riding position a stretch at all. And if Chase thinks they have massive engine braking (not really) then he should ride a large sports V twin like an Aprillia Tueno or a Suzuki TLR. Chase you need to run one of these for a month...

Man get your scary ass off that bike everybody can ride a real motorcycle I live the busa. That's the baddest bike on the land nice motorcycle you are not made for this bike why even di a review. One thing for sure you have to have big balls to ride the busa I have a 06 busa fast as hell and I love it.
@busalove20136 жыл бұрын
You can't compare a little boy R6 to the bike of bikes! The Hayabusa. The Suzuki Hayabusas strong point is it's top end. The busa will do 80mph in first gear. Not recommended, but it'll do it. Once you go busa. You NEVER go anywhere else!

I had a Hayabusa for years and I loved it. I also really like the styling but I'm kind of weird. I feel really stable on the bike. I sold it and got an 1125 CR which was a different experience for sure. I don't know. I feel that every bike takes more than just sitting on it once to get used to it.

Didn't change my mind.
