So it forces you to behave during the brake-in period? That's interesting. Nice bike!
@RidingWithTom9 жыл бұрын
Yeah it doesn't allow you to do a hard brake in which I normally do, it's all good though, this bike has plenty of power under 9k to still have fun

Does the 2015 S1000RR automatically limit to just over 8,000 rpm until it has completed the break in period or do you just have really good throttle control?
@motonosity9 жыл бұрын
I think Jake TheGardenSnake has some thoughts about that break in period ;)
@bobthebuilder101ism9 жыл бұрын
Motonosity lets not get started with that...... -_- WE ALL KNOW HE DOES, I bet AK47 does too?...

When I get supermoto wheels for the ktm we should swap bikes and see how it goes against the 720
@fd3s649 жыл бұрын
You should thank him. Hard break in is better on a bike than babying it. Look it up. Btw jakethegardenSnake has done 2 excellent videos on it and explains why manufacturers dont want you to go hard.
@TwystedThrottle9 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a plan. Hope you can get them before the international Supermoto thing
@TwystedThrottle9 жыл бұрын
Also Goofy, I'm fully aware of the hard break in thing, but bouncing a freshly rebuilt motor off the limiter with no load isn't exactly what the doctor ordered.
@fd3s649 жыл бұрын
Oh no load standing still? Wow. Im sorry. I thought he knew what he was doing.

Tom... Is it crazy if I buy this bike (BMW s1000r) as my second bike when I get my unrestricted licence. I currently ride a Ninja 300. I been shopping around for a bigger bike. The 4 I have in mind are S1000R, 899 Pani, Gixxer 750, ZX-6R. I am 5"4 so the choices are limited.
@CrankyBuddha9 жыл бұрын
RidingWithTom I feel like our bike tastes are identical. My first bike was a Ninja 250, now I'm on the lime '13 636 (It's not stolen from anyone, promise >.>), and I love the S1000RR. Although, I feel a little bit like instead of splurging for the beemer I might end up on a Zero next. Infinite gas mileage and still getting to 60 in 3 seconds on the SR make it pretty tempting!

Just how fast will this get through Mc Donalds Drive Thru in slick mode? I hope we will find out when the "braking period" is over. Or that's what I think it is.

Hey Tom, I'm looking around for my first bike and I need some advice so hopefully you help me out. I'm 17, 6'2 and on the thin side. I want something that is reliable, comfortable, fast, fun, and looks bad ass. I am currently looking at some of the following: a ktm duke 390, a Harley sportster XL 1200 custom, I am very interested in the victory Vegas 8 ball, and a BMW RI200GS. Ipif you know more about these bikes or others that fall into my categories, please help me out. Thanks

Tom I gotta a question for you. If you had the chance to buy one of two S1000rr. One being a 2014 and the other being a 2015 both at 0 miles or kilometers and the 2014 being $2000 less in price which would you choose?

Tom I don't usually like sportsbikes I grew up around crusiers and home built bobbers and choppers but that BMW is a Nice bike but I was wondering if later this year you could do a review on the Harley Davidson street 500 I want to know how it is with highway riding and your opinion riding it I ride a 1994 honda magna vt 250 r and for highway riding it's not too great and I would also like to see you test ride a Honda VLX steed springer 600 there are very little in the way of reviews for these 2 bikes so far
