** Key thing not mentioned in video. First enable the backup camera via the tazer. This way once camera is installed/testing out to see if feed is correct, it will save you the steps.
Save hundreds of $$$ by buying a third party OEM spoiler and backup camera, compared to the official OEM backup camera spoiler.
Very quick edit/explanation regarding how to install an aftermarket backup camera in a 2015+ Challenger (mine is an SXT) after I had installed it.
Did quick tapes jobs holding it up, but made sure any wires that were left open or spliced together triple taped. Went back afterwards with the tape and made it less of a 'hack job'.
If you have any questions, comment below and I'll get back to you as soon as I can!

How did you connect the esky back up cam to the uconnect? Is it an AV (YELLOW) CABLE, like where did you plug it in to??

Good Morning, good video. Which orig. Dodge cable -colour do you use for the camera power ? I though, on the orig. Camera Connector in the trunk-hood, there must be power too. So i can use everythink from this connector, Video-Signal, Ground, and Power. I may place the camera between the Taillights, under the DOGE-Emblem. Thanks a lot !

Very well done Raff 👍🏻 do you know which wire to connect if I want to install the parking sensors? Do I have to connect the cable, which should go to the reverse light signal, also to the green/brown cable? And I didn‘t understand which wire to connect to the Green/orange wire. Thanks a lot!! Joe

CoJo GoPro parking sensors I feel might have a little different wiring since you wouldn’t be putting sensory info through the video cable input. Sorry :/ wish I could help more. My guess is try one till it works besides the ones I showed ? There’s 6 there so 3 of them you know you don’t need

But how did you run the wire from the trunk to the front of the car? I have a front and rear camera and I'm trying to figure out how to connect my front camera to my back one without having wiring shown. Can't seem to find a path from the trunk to the front underneath the carpeting
@Skater4Life8o5

Sorry for the late reply. I’m not too sure about the front camera since my car didn’t have one. I’m going to assume the front camera wire is towards the front of the car instead of the rear. One way id recommended is opening up the wheel well (undoing the plastic taps with a pry tool) and looking inside the bumper to see where that wire goes.

I have 2017 challenger and connected like I saw you did. During the video you talk about the positive wires. Do you just connect the red and black that is in the harness to your camera or another one from the fuse box in the trunk as well?

So now when you flip it into reverse, the backup camera comes up on the regular unconnected system?
@Skater4Life8o5
@Skater4Life8o5 6 жыл бұрын
Correct. you need the Z Automotive Tazer in order to enable the backup camera, or you can go to the dealership to have them activate it. I've heard from numerous people on forums, subreddits, etc that enabling it through the dealer is ~$200-250. So at that point it makes sense to buy the tazer. You can also enable paddle shifters if you choose to install them as well as a bunch of other features.

Raff ill call around to a few different dealerships and see if I can get it done for free somewhere, cause I saw some were able to get it done for 50 bucks or less. Thing with me is that the video cable for my backup camera has a red wire and a black wire inside it, but no yellow, and just those two. I’m not sure which one would go to which. I may just go out and get a new cable, but do you know how I would wire that up? Keep in mind that those aren’t the power cables,I opened up the one with the yellow end and found black and red inside, and there’s another cable aside from that meant for power that has black and red as well.
@Skater4Life8o5
@Skater4Life8o5 6 жыл бұрын
If the dealership can enable it for free, I would just try and have them do that first. I'm not too sure about those wirings. Since that is just the video wire, I don't think there is a reason to worry about shorting out the system. It would kind of like plugging in the component cables incorrectly into the tv, nothing would happen to the tv, just the video wouldn't show up. Once the video feed is wired you can test it out, and if nothing comes up or you get a fuzzy green screen, just switch the wiring. Worse comes to worse, as you stated, you might want to grab another video component cable and see if it has similar wiring inside. Those are fairly cheap now a days I would imagine.

I’m still kinda confused whether you’re supposed to run one of the wires to the radio?
@Skater4Life8o5
@Skater4Life8o5 2 жыл бұрын
No need to if you’re getting a camera that has a power cable built into the video component cable. The wiring is already running to the front. The cable that comes down from the trunk is cabling that goes to the radio.

@Skater4Life8o5
@Skater4Life8o5 2 жыл бұрын
@@leeevertt2728 there wasn’t a need to wire anything to the battery. All the wiring dealt with is at the rear in the trunk liner. This is because all of the wiring is what comes to and from the uconnect, which would include the power, video feed etc.

Jaylassie I, I got the idea from this guys video kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6PbhYWLjKysb80. It looks like he had an RT so it might’ve already had the wiring. I’m at work rn and can’t really watch through it. But I think I remember him saying he didn’t have one thus why he was installing a 3rd party one. You can follow his since the wiring colors might be the same. I’d also check under your trunk lid to see if there is a wiring harness already there too. If not, you’ll probably have to install one from the rear to the front. Which may be a bigger project.

@@Skater4Life8o5 So I got a naviks backup camera interface and got an aftermarket license camera. Im back here again trying to see how you ran your wires through the bumper. only thing is, on the inside of the trunk there's a black hard plastic piece covering the carpet piece by the trunk latch, was trying to figure out how to get it off so I can get to the carpet piece so I can pull that back to expose the vent where you ran your wires through. really want to do this install this weekend
@Skater4Life8o5

If it’s the black clips holding in the carpeting, you’ll just have to pry it off. You can get away with using a flat head screwdriver. Just be careful not to break it. They’re cheap and available at auto stores. These are referred to as “Christmas tree clips”. If you have an interior pry tool, it’ll be easier.
