2015 Ford Escape Shakes Violently. 🤔

2015 Ford Escape 2.0 customer States check engine light was on and that it shakes violently when sitting still

I was told to replace the booster, check valve and the sensor and it did not fix the violent engine shake. I Only have 1.5 years of experience and your video appears to be the answer that I couldn’t find on alldata which wasn’t much help. Thank you

I have the exact issue on a '15 2.0 escape in my bay right now, low side fuel pressure and cooling system code but nothing trans related. Only does it in gear, not P or N. Exact symptoms, nothing on Identifix. Was thinking it was trans related. You just saved me, man! subscribing!

no misfires as well, exactly the same. About to look at my data again and see if it steady up-shifts like this one did. I'm curious.

Wrote it up for a trans. It shakes violently in R and D at idle, exactly like the one in the video. As soon as you take off, it's fine. I put it in the air afterwards, put it in gear, let the wheels spin, slowly applied the brake and it ended up stalling. The only data that makes sense to me on my Solus is converter slip desired and actual. They're not close. It has almost 200k, I may not ever find out, we'll see! I'll update.

@@adamkinnaman6889 If it stalled that means it weas in 3rd gear or higher. Thats how yo do a clutch test as well on a manual. put it in 4th gear and let out the clutch. if it stalls clutch isnt slipping. But yeah it needs a transmission. Its shifting while idling which is why it stalled. Exact thing that happened to this ojne.

I have something similar going on and every other video I have seen points to a bad passenger side motor mount. This is the first time I have heard about this trans issue. We dont have any other issues. What happens is it will shake (not this violently) after the car has been sitting overnight. Then after driving for a few minutes the next morning; the shaking disappears. Plus, it also seems a little worse on a slight uphill incline. The last symptom is that turning to the right it has a rubbing sound coming from the right front but does not have that sound when I turn towards the left.

Have you had the transmission fluid checked? Or changed? Could also be the clutch pack in some cases. The rubbi g noise when turning sounds like a wheel bearing.

I remember this one "nice" hotel and they had this box on the nightstand you could put 4 quarters in and the bed would shake just like that. The customer got lucky, that's like a bonus feature right there. Any plans on a Texas trip, our weather is starting to turn nice.

I'm in the process of working with my dealer to get the transmission replaced in my wife's 2017 Escape. This has been a months long journey with having to get Ford Customer Care involved. They're "supposed" to have the transmission in sometime in the next 2-3 weeks.

Yeah this 15 the transmission is 4-6 weeks out. There's a company called Carolina Reman I can get one from in about 4 days. Just about the same price.

1:59 As I'm watching, my first thought is it's a bad motor mount. Just a guess at this point.. Turns out I'm very much wrong, but I'm just going on a story I recall my dad telling from years ago. Before I was born my parents bought a brand new early/mid 70s Mercury Cougar. When you'd rev the engine, there was a brutal shake. The dealership couldn't figure it out, but this kindly old Japanese mechanic did. A MISSING motor mount. lol

Yep. Motor mount will cause a vibration. Wish it was the problem on this one. But sadly it's not.

will a cvt thats in the 2010 ford escape hybrids do this? thought it was a seized brake calliper but the shaking came back. the 2010 cvt is supposed to be a shiftless planetary gearset which ive heard fails all at once and not over time.

A seized brake caliper would pull in the opposite direction of the seized one. Like if the right was seized it would pull left when you step on the brakes because the right is seized and already applied. I've never had a 2010 escape hybrid I've ever worked on do this. Much less have a transmission issue. I would get it to a shop and see what's going on.

How long can I drive with this thing happening? Mine won’t turn off it just shakes violently so whenever I stop I just put it in neutral.

I wouldn't drive it too long. I would get it to a shop ASAP. Is it only shaking when your stopped or while driving too?

Same exact problem. The only way to drive it is to put it on neutral at stop. Took it to the trans shop and they confirmed it. The gave me a quote for the new trans for $7500 incl labor. 😢

@@BeardedFordTech I have the same transmission in my 2012 fusion. Lots of rough shifts, especially 2nd to 3rd, even when the mileage was low. Still going, however, at 167,000. Do they still put it in any of their new vehicles?

@@BeardedFordTech Years ago we did have a fuel card to be able to put fuel in vehicles for warranty work, such as performing two federal OBD test drives. Don't know if it can be billed out that way now. You are right, though. Who would have thought the tech fixing your vehicle needs to use your gas, too? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
