I was not a huge fan of the exterior styling, but this year looks much better.

The best crv I've seen so far. Wished they had optional cleared taillights to compliment the front headlights.

how would you compare this to the Kia Soul which you were quite enamored of ?( yes I realize the Soul is smaller ) - as far as value and features for the money - let's say it's for 2 people and their stuff - at the price point of 26000 and change for the Soul -probably a bit more for the AWD ( which apparently will be offered next model year ) does it make sense? the Kia warranty is longer, their reliability is way up ( they don't use Takata airbags ) and being Canuck I know this is made just south of me - I still see the Kia as being ahead in the value for $$$ equation...- or or perhaps even a Sportage or Sorento when you get to the top trim of the Honda as far as prices go...( and they still have their 6 speed autos - no cvt...)

I have a forester turbo with eyesight. Paid 36k. It's outstanding performance and with xmode. It's leaps and bounds above this for an enthusiast. For non enthusiasts who want a great suv but don't car about fun factor, Crv is a great choice.

Hi Greg. I had almost made up my mind to also purchase the Subaru over this CRV until I came across the oil consumption issue. Hope you do not have this with your Forester. www.torquenews.com/1084/2nd-new-oil-consumption-lawsuit-suddenly-filed-against-subaru

Baught a compact crossover in 2012: drove the then CRV, RAV4, Mazda CX5, Tiguan, and Escape. None of us liked the RAV4 much. The Honda seemed to be the most spacious of the bunch, with a good back seat (best of the group I though). The finish (of the model we looked at) was mediocre, though. The CX5 seemed to be missing a few horsepower and the nav stereo monitor was pretty small. Seats were comfortable though. They wouldn't drop the price at all. The Tiguan seemed pretty upscale; I just thought I might be unreliable and expensive to repair, though. Also it was the most expensive of the bunch. Bought the Escape Titanium with the 2L turbo engine: liked the looks, finish, and zoom (no substitute for a larger engine)--they gave me $1,500 off list, dropped the price further, and gave me $2,000 for a 12 yr old rusted Taurus (from Montreal). Don't like the Escape back seat much (low, short thigh support, hard) and it's not a high CR choice (in part because of the crummy nav-radio interface Microsoft system). My daughter likes it though. So far no major problems (yet). Question: don't CVT transmissions take some of the fun away from driving? If you don't like the ride, why buy the car?

Sorry--didn't finish my post: Bought the Escape Titanium. Got $2,000 fo r aworthless rusted (12 in Montreal) Taurus and $1,500 discount plus the usual discount. Hope it's more reliable than the recalls suggest; it drives nicely---there is no substitute for displacement (2L turbo really goes). Also, I don't really know the difference but I don't think I would really like the CVT transmission.

people are experiencing vibrations during idling in D gear already, any confirmations on youtube? Like the car just too scared to buy a cvt vehicle like Nissans

Vibration issue of Honda CRV LX AWD 2015: ==================================================================== I have brought a Brand New Honda 2015 CRV AWD LX Model from one of the Honda dealer in NJ.From the day one, i noticed some vibration on the front seats of the car when i am at the STOP sign/signal with car is in the drive mode (D) with my foot on the brake paddle. The vibration is random and not always but can be feel at the back of your body and it is very strong sometime that as a driver you get distracted and feel very uncomfortable while driving. If you have to are stuck in some traffic jam and have to stop longer then the vibration on both the front seat is quite noticing and causes irritation on the back and you cannot sit for long in while the seats vibrating. When I reported the incident to Honda Car Dealer...... ========================================================== As soon as I notice the issue with my car then I quick to reported to the sales person who sold me this car. Initially I thought that the problem could be with my car only so I went to the dealer and able to duplicate the problem and showed it to their technician on 24th NOv 14.The technician took the vehicle for test drive and called me after an hour to share his conclusion. Dealer took another brand new 2015 honda CRV LX AWD, stood in front of my car and showed me that this vehical also have the similar issue like yours.I was quite surprised to see the same vibration in another vehicle. Based on the test drive and comparating my car with other New 2015 Models , the dealer concluded that this problem is there in all new honda crv 2015.They told me they are helpless and cannot do anything and asked me to contact American Honda as this is coming with all similar models .He gave me service sheet and mentioned everything on it. He was not sure but said it could be software issue . He indicated that the TECHOMETER that shows the RPM value is from where the problem is occurring. When the issue occurs in the car due to stop state the RPM on the technometer has less value as compare to when the issue does not occur. The RPM value on the tachometer is “0.6” when the vibration DOES OCCUR and the RPM value on the technometer is “0.9” when the issue DOES NOT occur. This variation could be due to direct injection technology. The dealer indicated to me that this could be due to the new CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission) Transmission engine in new CRV’s of Honda. When I reported to the Manufacturer American Honda..... ======================================================== I called American Honda(not one time but several times), they gave me the case number and told me to go to the dealer to fix the issue. I told them that i went to the dealer and they find the issue in the vehicle. I got a call from some Mr Mohammad(case manager) who represented himself as RM for NJ area.Without doing anything he closed my case#N012014-11-1902878, i called again and asked them to open the case. Mr Mohammed called me again and told me that this is one of the characteristic of HOnda CRV(vibration issue) , i mean he told vibration is a designed functionally and i have to live with this like all other users are living. I told him that my driving get distracted and i feel a sense of discomfort. He said he cannot help . I asked him to escalate but he said, we don’t have any escalation level and i am the only one with whom you can talk. I said to provide the email or phone of management so as to talk to them but he did not provide me the information and CLOSED my case without my consensus and said we are helpless. i called again to reopen the case , same Mr Mohammed called me again and without listening to me he closed the case again and washed off his hand from the issue. Unfortunately the manufacturer is not ready to listen to my problem and i am very sad and frustrated the way my case was handled by American honda.I have never expected such type of attitude of American Honda where they want to push the matter under the carpet , in spite of appreciating the positive feedback from its customer. When I reported to the Honda Headoffice in Tokyo: ======================================= I wrote a letter and reported to their headoffice in Tokyo but they turned blind eye and did not help me .

Wow, I have heard of that issue before. I am considering buying a used CR-V and have been focusing only on the Generation before that (2012-2014) before they incorporated the CVT engine to specifically avoid the 2015 issue you've just described. I am sorry to hear you've experienced that exact problem, it must have been very frustrating. May I ask what you ended up doing and whether or not you are still driving that vehicle now ? Thank you for taking the time to write this by the way.

Hi Zack. Thanks a lot for your reviews. Please clarify one thing for me. I hear very often: “this car is built on the same platform as that car” In this review you mentioned that 2015 CR-V is sharing same platform with Honda Civic. What does it mean? I compared this vehicle and they are different. All dimensions (wheel base, track…) are different. Engine and transmissions are different. Which platform are you talking about? Thanks a lot!

Zack, you didn't cover some of the other big selling points of the cr-v: - reliabilty -resale -the fact that the Touring is one of (if not the only) vehicle in this price range with Active Collision Mitigation, radar cruise control, lane keep assist, etc I feel you're getting a bit sloppy with your reviews lately.

Motormouth Canada Thanks Zack. Don't get me wrong, I love the conciseness of your videos. I just feel that the driving aids are an integral part of the driving experience you report about, and a major differentiator from its competitors. It's the reason I picked one up for my wife. . Keep up the great work.

As much as we hate the CVTs, they are here to stay...they have proven reliable, even the cheaper versions last. And I have two teenagers that couldn't care...they just want a car that is "cute" and will go from A to B comfortably and efficiently. I've tried to get them to drive my 5spd VIBE, but they don't have any interest in learning a manual. Kids these days are missing out on the pleasure of driving...times are changing! They are much more excited about the autonomous vehicles...sad

Re the Homda CRV 2015. I just purchased one of these. My decision was based on reviews from Motor trend and others. This machine vibrates, shakes, shudders, and clunks like no other vehicle I have owned. I am 55 and this is my 7th Honda. I have been a proffessional traveller all my life and have traveled in vehicles I have owned over 2 million kilometres. I am embarrassed to take people in the CRV. Also the infotainment/digital display systems ignores every human factors engineering principal I am aware of and is loaded with bugs. How did this vehicle rate so highly with so many reviewers? Especially given all the dissatisfied owners posting across the Internet?

No left hand blind spot detection for Hondas what is up with that Honda they all come with a curved wide angle mirror with a vertical line which is annoying that makes eyes very fuzzy and confused at first , it should come with an active sonar detector , it has long lasting style than angular Rav4 , btw the ridge of the rear hatch in the Rav4 collects snow in the snowy days, just a thought. Anyone is thinking about buying a Rogue or Nissan you better go KZbin Nissan cvt problems. Do not let that $1500 cheaper msrp fool you and the 7 seat version comes with run flat tires, it is $ 100 each extra for replacement. I wish reviewers do road noise level comparison at 60 and 100km cruising speed like Motorweek used to. It has plenty of power for most people, I would rather have a bigger 2.5L than a turbo which is higher maintenance,

Fully loaded at $35,790 or £18,836 GBP (1.9) ... this car costs around £35,000 in the uk which translates to $66,500. What gives Honda Europe ?????? Why are Europeans being hit with such high prices ???

MrFreakUK you are alone, the Aussies too but you get a 9 spd, we get a cvt with lots complaints on idle vibration for $ 35,790, for $66,000 we can get a cheap X5, fairly loaded RX350 or ML350, loaded Q5,haha. Would it be the higher freight cost

Honda has ruined their sporty naughty. Cvt's are junk! The corn looks better but I find they are so overpriced. Also as zack said that head unit is garbage and lane watch should be on BOTH SIDES!

The CRV has been built on its own platform since 2002 and does not share a platform with the civic maybe you should ask someone before you just make things up. You left out all of the new safety and electronic upgrades like Siri eyes free, lane keeping assist, forward collision braking, adaptive cruise control and the fact that it is a top safety pick plus. lazy revue to say the least

Ford Escape has the worst safety rating, worst visibility, worse reliability, and worst resale value. It's really one of the worst compact SUVs on the market. Even Ford salesmen would tell you that.

Dsygtecb X Or you can check facts from all the various sources. Poor small front overlap rating from IIHS, largest A pillar in compact SUV (an interior image suffices), reliability scores from TrueDelta and Consumer Reports, 5 year true-cost-to-own and resale value from kbb and edmunds. If you want to bury your head in the sands, that's fine with me. It's your money anyway. Ever wonder why Ford offers 4-5k discount on those things? And yet they still get one of the lowest owner satisfaction scores among all brands.
