I'm 26 years old and I want this car. My grandparents would never drive this. This is a car for millennials and for generation x!
@HCFX20119 жыл бұрын
Tzepeda21 I bought one for my girlfriend and I'm in my early 20's. It fits our lifestyle perfectly. We drove the Q5, GLK, X3, XC60 and NX, and the MKC was a perfect fit, the others didn't even compare. Most of them were old, dated and uninspiring. I got it in Tuxedo black with the 2.3 and the 20" wheels. I think it looks modern, sharp and youthful. Plus, fully loaded, it undercut the competition by at least $5,000. Couldn't ask for a better luxury compact crossover to bomb around in. Lots of power, a very quiet and smooth ride, plenty of space and after 13,000 miles it hasn't given us a single problem. The foot activated tailgate is handy and the soft leather seats feel very nice. We absolutely adore our MKC. Wouldn't trade it for any boring, uninspiring german box.

If this helps anyone on this old of a video, I went from a 16 Escape to a 17 MKC Reserve with the 2.3L and I love everything about it! Not sure if the ones tested had adaptive suspension, but can go from the old Lincoln’s of the past to handling like a sports car. Best car purchase I have ever made!

I'm probably the only one in the comments thats gonna say this but..i really like this vehicle its looks classy and expensive and i love the exterior! I dont understand why they feel the need to style it after european cars though. The interior looks nice too, plus that THX sound system is probably amazing! But they should definitely make more room in the backseat, hope its nothing like the shitty ford escape

Charley Hawkins Really? Thats so disappointing, I know someone who has a THX sound system for their computer and it sounds amazing so I assumed it would sound good in this car too.

I am a bit surprised at so many people lamenting how it looks. Regardless of their dynamics and other characteristics, for me, the latest/next generation of Lincoln and Cadillac models benefit from styling that is a lot more resolved and elegant than the more brash and ungainly designs that Mercedes, BMW and Audi are continuing to churn out lately.

How come these car reviewers NEVER ask Lexus engineers why is a Lexus ES300 better than a Toyota Camry? This Lincoln appears to be a very sweet small luxury cross-over, and because it shares a chassis with a Ford the reviewer is acting like the earth just cracked in half.

I own a '97 MK VIII. That was the last "Hot Rod Lincoln" they ever built. Friends have driven my car and commented on it's ability to grunt, how incredibly quiet it is on the inside and it's just a darn good looking car. I agree and actually would have liked to see the next evolution of this take on some more hard edges. I want Lincoln to succeed. I saw some of the new concepts for the Ford GT and was even more excited to see a Lincoln variant on those concepts. DO IT!! Do not make the same mistakes as the Catera. Make Lincoln the technology/engineering leading platform for your other makes. That's what it used to do (just like Cadillac). When you made the LS, you were targeting the 540i. I think you succeeded. You made a great car. Now make an even greater one.Your targets should be S500, the 5 series , the A8 etc. That coyote engine is the bomb. Don't be afraid to make a Lincoln go faster than a Mustang. Mustang buyers aren't dropping the money on a sport luxury. This is the start of getting your name on peoples minds. After you do that. Your new target is: AMG, Alpina, S8, etc. Next: Pagani, Koenigsegg, Buggati.... Maybach??? As said in the video: you have great potential, but you have baggage. Guess what? Grandpa relaxes in his S600 while his son is stomping around in the CLK. Mercedes recently had a commercial; little kids were talking about going to the prom in mom and dads new Mercedes. "Owning it some day." That was a brilliant bit of marketing. I understand you are try to focus on younger buyers. You focus is for the established professionals that are mid 30's and up. I think you need to get into the minds of 20 years olds that are looking to drop $50k+ in 10-15 years. You want teenagers tearing your images out of magazines and daydreaming about owning "YOU!", on day. You have the ability. Be brave. You will not cannibalize your Mustang sales if you make it faster. You can do it.

Are all drivers sports car enthusiasts? Why do they always consider sportiness even on SUV's? Do they know why the Lexus RX is the #1 crossover? Because it focuses more on comfort more than anything else. If I want a sporty drive, I would get a coupé, not an SUV. Yes, I do want my SUV to look sporty and edgy. But I want it to have a comfortable and quiet ride.
@Lucky8s9 жыл бұрын
+Alex According to USNews ranking, the RX is number 6. Porsche Macan, BMW X5, Volvo XC90 and even the Lexus NX beats it. And when it comes to compact crossovers, Honda CR-V tops the list. I have no idea where you got your information. Lexus is hardly top when it comes to overall balance.
@chonaV9 жыл бұрын
+WuWei Xu +WuWei Xu i got my information from several sources. One of them being JD Powers ranking the Lexus RX as the bestselling crossover vehicle in 2014. The Honda crv is not in the same category as the Lexus RX. So I don't know why you are bringing that one up, unless you are saying that they have comparable prices, LOL.
@Lucky8s9 жыл бұрын
Alex I never said that the Honda CR-V was in the same category as the Lexus RX, hence why I said "when it comes to compact crossovers". The only reason I mentioned it is to make sure you weren't looking at some sort of ranking website where SUVs/CUVs of all sizes are compared together, such as CarandDriver. If only you could read, such a shame.
@chonaV9 жыл бұрын
+WuWei Xu I have said nothing that assumed that the CRV is in the same category as the RX, and neither have I said anything that implied such. So it's asinine of you to think that. Nice attempt to make me look like the dumb one though. Another random ignorant person on KZbin :-)
@717dash_cam9 жыл бұрын
+Alex I wouldn't say they are trying to make it "sporty", I would agree they threw in a few sporty aspects, but lincoln drive control give a nice variant of ride quality, and steering feel, while sport mode on the transmission just ensures being in the power band when you want/need it, not 3-4 seconds later. I have had the pleasure of being put in a 16 MKX twice as a loaner, and I've played with the settings. I wouldn't hesitate to think that people confuse sporty and fun to drive, as they are very close... Most people in the target age range here want something that is engaging, and fun to drive, while still being refined and comfortable. I'm 25, and would enjoy an suv that is designed as such. I agree that I don't want an SUV that drives like a Corvette or Mustang (had a mustang convertible for a loaner as well), but still want something that knows how to get out of its own way when needed. As for sporty styling, you can make a car look "sporty", but in reality all it means is that they are trying to make it look like it is moving when it isn't, creating an aerodynamic body style for fuel efficiency, and NVH reduction. It is nice to see them stepping away from just replacing the bumpers, grilles, and badges to separate themselves from their parent brand.

You're right imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, guess that's why the Land Rover Evoque is based on the Ford Escape and I have to wounder if you said ESCAPE even once during that review. The MKC unlike the Evoque has the 2.3 Mustang motor and the wheels have a wider stance to go with it as well as the best styling and the nicest interior in the segment. As for back seat room, the front seat can be moved forward half way and a driver who's 6'4" won't feel imposed upon and still give the rear seat passengers the room you feel they been denied. Lincoln knows just who they want to attract, guys like me who thought the Escape Titanium was a better deal than the Evoke and is going to move up to the MKC in 36 months and as far as the BMW Audi Acura owners it won't hurt to look at the Lincoln. Oh and one more thing that money the you say GM's pouring into Cadillac that was govermment money Ford is using their own.

I was looking at this for myself. A fully loaded reserve model was driven 5k miles a year (assuming a granny driver) for less than 20k. Sounds sweet until I went in to test drive it. One thing I’ve seen out of the dozens of reviews is the lack of driver leg room. I’m 6’1” and with the seats all the way back I still had a roughly 50 degree leg bend. That of course makes it impossible for anyone with legs to sit behind me. Didn’t even take it for a test drive. My accord lets me stretch my leg out while still having enough space for someone to sit comfortably behind me. Odd.

Why does the reviewer keep referring to the Ford Escape as a comparison to the MKC? The Ford Edge is the vehicle that shares almost everything with the the MKC, with the exception to some design differences and interior trim. The buying pupblic wants to know how Ford justifies the price premium of the MKC over the Ford Edge, not the Ford Escape.

This car has a somewhat aesthetically pleasing exterior, but the interior is that of a Dodge Journey or Jeep cherokee. If they are trying to aim for BMW,Audi and Mercedes they need to set themselves apart and build quality cars. BMW iDrive, Audi Connect, Mercedes Command, and even Chryslers Uconnect are years ahead of Fords MySync. Lincoln still isn't giving people a reason to buy the car over another company, lying about gas mileage numbers and weak EcoBoost engines can only take you so far Ford.

Mkz in New England has a ten thousand dollar total discount . Would hate to be someone that paid full boat or trying to trade it in after a couple of years . You are going to take a serious hit in trade or sale value. People remember that sort of thing and it is what kills brands off. The bean counters get the msrp out of whack and it can ruin a car giving it a poor perceived value at the end of ownership. People aren't going to make the same mistake twice and that is where Lincoln is at now,floundering.

I sell Ford's and Lincoln's (letting you know upfront). I think the MKz does offer a higher quality than the Fusion as far as ride, quietness, and materials. But I don't think it is a big enough difference to fully justify going with the Lincoln, of course that depends on which Fusion you are looking at, sometimes it can make sense. That being said, driving this MKc is an entirely different animal than the Escape, the track is wider, the center of gravity is lower, you get active noise control, lincoln drive control, bridge of weir leather (OMFG is it soft), as well as the small details like the Zebrano Wood (you can feel the grain, no Lacquer here), accent stitching even on the doors. The MKz may not have been different enough, but trust me the MKc is. Actually, don't trust me, I am a salesman, just go drive one!

***** yeah and because of that ford was making a killing off them. sales are sales no matter what they were aimed at. they could have boosted it's domestic sales again after a redesign based on the interceptor concept car, for both. large body rear wheel drive cars are still highly popular in the u.s. so there wasn't a reason to kill it. yet they keep the expedition and navigator around instead in which the sales of those things are almost non existent even for a large body and luxury suv segment.

It is waaay too tight for the rear passengers....I will not consider it if my passengers can't get a decent amount of rear legroom. I will turn around and walk away.

Meh. They still have a very long way to go. I'm glad they're trying to improve the brand but they need to pick a direction.

There's no way this will sell well at that price point......i feel bad for the Lincoln brand. smh.

I think Lincoln should scrap their entire lineup and start all over again. Lincoln should be the relatively affordable Bentley/Rolls-Royce and have two big sedans, a coupe, and a convertible, all of which should either be RWD or AWD. It doesn't look like that's going to happen, but it's wishful thinking. For sure the bean counter wants to keep Lincoln the way it is now.

I agree for the most part....and I think Lincoln needs to go RWD with their vehicles if they ever wanna be taken super seriously again. What brought Caddy back? That's right....they went back to RWD and it's paid off for them.

GM, that's include your Cadillac has more recalls than any car maker. The new Cadillac (ATS, CTS, Escalade) looks good but way overpriced. Give Lincoln a complete makeover of its lineup and see what happens. What sells in the past no longer works. Automakers have to adapt to market changes or be like GM who got bail out by the taxpayers. The sad part they still couldn't make a quality vehicle. GM should be rename General Recall.

A large portion of the Luxury Market nowadays, at least the younger emerging market, puts a high value on fuel economy. The world my generation has grown up in has led us to see energy efficiency as a big plus. I think having one RWD Luxury Sport Sedan or even a Coupe would be an awesome edition. But first Lincoln has to finish redesigning all the other vehicles in there lineup.

1quickster you do realize the GM recalls weren't their fault? they didn't make the parts that failed. an outside manufacturer did.

Why would I go to an American car maker to get a European car?
@colderbeer10 жыл бұрын
Because Ford Motor Co. is an INTERNATIONAL company with factories all over the world.
@Lucky8s9 жыл бұрын
+Steven Vincent Because European cars aren't sold in America, besides luxury ones of course.
