There's something about Ironman that brings a tear to my eye because Ironman isn't just about redefining what you can do, it's not just about humility it's about proving to your self that when you challenge an obstacle and take action your are stronger than anything in this world. It's simply just beautiful.

The most exciting athletic day of my life. A 30 year goal fulfilled and I enjoyed EVERY MINUTE of it. Thank you Ironman and ALL of the volunteers. The best cheer supporters anywhere.

Really,, My wife and I lost a full days pay because we could not get to work due to our roads being closed for you bicycle riders. Looks like you enjoyed your day though. This year you should come and visit we prisoners trapped in our front yard. If you folks had any decency you would push the leaders to change the damn ROUTE

+Six Actual boo hoo- day off work sounds absolutely horrible. get over yourself.

Sure, I will get over "myself". Especially since YOU think we should bow down to bicycle riders. However the facts remain,, you have NO RIGHT to close our roads. Take your bikes to the desert or to the country or just shove them where the sun i guess really shines

+Six Actual I don't understand why you are so hurt about this. I would be HONORED to have an Ironman in my hometown. Maybe you should sit and think that the loss of a day's pay for you is made up by the lifetime of pain and hard work that gives a man or woman happiness. How about you go train and compete in an ironman, and tell me who sacrifices more, you or them?

+Six Actual they have the right to close the roads as long it's announced that they are closed and if they think it is a danger for athletes. i've done 2 marathons and 3 1/2 triathlon, of which 2 ironman, some streets are closed for cars because it was too dangerous for cyclists with extra cars driving around them. so you can choose: thinking about the safety of the 2000 triathletes/ 30000 marathonrunners (depending which race) or unnecessary casualties because of the extra cars in dangerous parts and someone gets butt hurt for not getting to his job even thought it's announced and it's just 1 or 2 days out of 365 days? you choose
