@@GarageMahalLife It really was. I set up the mileage to 50k miles on the "other" option in the dash and will replace again at that time.

Like the video. There are also steps for the titan 7 speed tranny to run the vehicle to get the transmission temperature up to around 104*F. Once the vehicle reaches around 104*F, leave it running at idle and pull the fill/overflow plug until it just drips out to remove any excess fluid. I've just performed this service on my 2019 titan xd and feel the tranny shifts a lot smoother.

No need to warm before emptying, after you fill warm then open fill port steady stream then close when it trickles

Yes, pretty close, different trans or engines possible, but same method and locations of drains and fills.

On the sealant you put on everything. Any concern with some of that excess getting in the parts? Seems like it has the potential to gum something up if a big chunk comes off in the fluid

Threading down it will push it towards the top and out. I was a bit excessive though, but on differentials it would not be that much of a concern if at all.

One more question. Why did you use 75W-140 in the rear diff when it calls for 75W-90 in the owners manual? Just curious because when I went to the dealer I asked the parts dept. what I needed and they said 75W-90

Do you happen to know what fill port adapter fits the transmission? I already have the quart bottle pump so I'm not looking to buy a whole kit if possible. I also have a 2018 SV (non-XD) so I'm not sure if that makes a difference for the fill port. Thx

No, the adapter kits are pretty inexpensive.

Yes and no... since I had measured what I drained, I was putting that exact amount back in. In that case you would want to plug it quickly. There's a lot of spots in the upper transmission that will drain, but not fill until the transmission is running/pumping the fluid back up. In a sealed system there would be no way to gauge it, either than drain, measure and fill...

How often should this be done? I pull a 9k pound airstream 2x a year. I currently have 30k on my 2018 XD.

Yes, just have to go slowly so it works its way down and "burps" after you get it about 3/4 of the way, run it to further help work the air up and out. Then fill to capacity. Just measure how much you drain, and put that much back in.

It's time to service my transmission on my 2017 Titan SV I was told to drain and put new fluid in but why does the dealer offer a Flush and Fill? From what I have read people say to never flush the transmission on the Titan. What about the filter? I have never done this so please let me know what's the best method. Thanks

People who tell you not to change your transmission fluid are giving you bad information. I change the trans fluid every 60k or what is recommended by the manufacturer. If you can drop the pan, change the filter. After 60k your transmission will run cooler. Better for gas mileage and the overall health of the transmission.

@@GarageMahalLife They didn't tell me not to change the fluid they said to not let anyone Flush it. IDK? I purchased mine used and had the transmission serviced at the dealership before I purchased it with 57k miles on it. I'd guess they did a drain and fill. I'm about to hit 100k and figured if I was going to drain the fluid I might as well replace the filter but was told just to drain and fill. Not sure the amount I'd have to put back in. When I normally remove anything gasket related I end up with a damn leak at some point. 😂 Thanks for the fast response👍

@@danielk0106 That is always why I used gasket sealant... almost guarantees no leaks and helps keep the rubber gasket in place. A flush is better than nothing, but the filter material gets saturated with dirt, micro pieces of metal and trans fluid that has lost its viscosity.

@@solrus20 It is how I planned things. Always a method to how you do things vs. The execution, Depending on the vin and manual they call for 2 different viscosity oils. But no real reason other than vin specific.

Note: the non-XD gas Titans call for 75W-90 for front and rear differentials. Wow! The gear oil sure has gotten expensive at $15 a quart! 🙄
