Ok: I just got this vehicle: 2016(1/2) Mazda CX-5 in Jet Black Mica with Black Leather Interior. This vehicle topped out north of $39,000.00 from $32,620.00 (Full Package FWD) due to the trade in of our 2015 Mazda CX-5. Grand Touring Edition. I tried to hold out for the 2017 CX-5 but that infotainment system "KILLED" my excitement completely. I absolutely love the vehicle and plan on keeping it for quite some time. Thanks for the video. Enjoyed it & subbed.

This past Monday I went in to get the scheduled maintenance on my 2012 Mazda 3 Touring. After deciding to consider upgrading, I looked at the CX 3 and the CX 5. I ended up purchasing the 2016.5 CX 5 Touring. It's only been a few days and one thing is very clear. It's going to take some time getting use to not putting a key in the ignition and keeping that key on me at all times. For the most part I am enjoying this Mazda model much more than the 3 Touring. Although it doesn't get as good mileage, the handle has been greatly improved. I am kind of regretting not looking further into the cost difference between the CX 5 Touring and the Grand Touring but from what the salesman told me the additional options were, I just didn't see how the additional monthly payments were worth it. Still, I was kind of hoping for the additional safety options like lane assist and the automated braking systems. As of now I don't really have any complaints except for the complexity of the infotainment system. It is just not very user friendly. I'm still trying to figure out how to turn off the radio. I called the dealership and they had no idea. It was suggested that I bring the car in and they would find someone that may be able to assist me.

I love the dramatic pause from Chris as he transitions from one segment to another. The seatbealt buckling and transmission shifter grab along with the stoic outward gaze towards the front windshield even with his ever present sunglasses, is epic.

Ha! We never looked at it that way, J High. Seems so much more poetic coming from you than on that 90 degree day when we were recording this video. LOL We appreciate you!

This vehicle is one of the nicest in the class. Can't wait to see the 17 model in real world settings.

Bloomberg reported that sporty car sales are down, seems as the baby boomers age and switch to vehicles such as this one, the newer generations are not buying them as much as their parents did, from your review, you can see why, very easy vehicle to live with on a daily basis and yet, it still can get out of its own way, great job as always.

Due to the outcries of journalists and consumers across the globe, manufacturers are making even the most pedestrian of vehicles handle impressively on a race track. And while this is good for driver enjoyment (and safety), this causes the uninitiated to question the want or need for more performance-focused vehicles. Every so often, we have conversations with people about this and until someone experiences how much more exhilarating a Corvette, Porsche or even a Mustang can be, they will always have a difficult time accepting those vehicles for what they are. Again, the argument may seem pointless to some, but that same performance tech eventually trickles down, and we'd rather perform a panic stop from 70 mph in this 2016... and a half CX-5 than in a Corvette from just 25 years ago. We appreciate you, pedro fernandez.

Is the 2016.5 somehow different than just a 2016?
@AutoAcademics
@AutoAcademics 6 жыл бұрын
It is primarily packaging that has changed, jbm0866. Mazda did some mid-year refreshing to the CX-5 during this model year, repackaging some features as standard (read: free) to keep the vehicle interesting before launching the all-new 2nd generation CX-5 in 2017. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

Why do you keep calling it 2016.5?
@iamhealthy4068
@iamhealthy4068 5 жыл бұрын
chancy319 because it is. Mazda redid the 2016 model halfway through the “season.” Thus, they created the 2016.5. I have one. It sounds stupid saying “2016.5,” but there are some notable differences.

No power passenger seat was a deal breaker for me. UNBELIEVABLE Mazda would omit that on a 30k+ car
