Is the lower oil pan what you have to replace if the drain plug is stripped or the whole unit it’s self

Thanks the clear video. I'm replacing rod bearings on a n63tu right now. It's a 750. I'm at the point I'm taking out my oil pump. It's inly held in by the two torxes and one bolt? Seems odd that its held on in inky three areas, and not four?

That oil pump has adjustment. Be careful to record the slack tension!

I have been having problems with my F15 2016 X5 Sdrive, it's leaking oil and my mechanic who works inside BMW said that he can't find anything leaking. Probably because he is looking on different area. Anyway, I will have him do this and see what will happened. A 2 friends of mine that also own 1 X5 and the other is X1 also having the same leaking problem and asking 1 quart of oil once the mileage reach a certain level after the fresh oil change. I hope this is the solution that we have been looking for. Will keep you posted. Thank you for this.

Man, I’m performing this same job on a 550 xdrive 14’, and I have questions about the steering rack, I don’t know how to get to the rack’s shaft to disconnect it, everything else I believe I’m ready to drop it, but the steering rack is the last thing that worries me

Hello well I look up under my 550ix and I see that my oil pan is stick with oil but I’m not sure if is the lower or upper gasket. How do I know from where that oil come from ?

It's actually self lubricating system to keep stuff from corroding.
