Hey More Red Pill ...may I ask if how your engine sounds ...at idle or otherwise? Reason I ask is: I just picked up a used 2014 with 70K on odo and it has this "knocking-esque" sound thats evident at cold start (most evident round 1000 - 1500 rpm) it calms down after engine warm but still there (not loud but perceptible without other ambient noise such as sound system or vent noise). I hope Toyota will consider to continue the production of this car as it's so beautiful and unique to own. I'm planning to go home next year and I'm planning to buy this car, I hope there's still some stock left and hoping they'll not increase the price.

The 2014 Ultimate Edition goes on sale in January. Toyota will announce pricing closer to the on-sale date. The FJ model is being discontinued worldwide, after the 2014 model year, Toyota says, and the Ultimate Edition is intended to mark that with a bang, not a whimper.Nov 5, 2013

That is incorrect. Right hand drive production continued for select markets for two years after left hand drive production ceased.

Interesting he said the “American engine”, which is the exact same 1GRFE engine that was in the Prado for a long long time, ie an iconic Australian engine given there are no Prados in the US

1,500km = 932mi. 159liters = 42 gallons. You guys have a much larger fuel tank than we have here in the USA! My 2012 FJ Cruiser has a 19gallon = 72liters fuel tank. I guess they did a larger fuel tank on the right hand models?

Actually there are 2 fuel tanks on the FJ, one in the common place under the driver area, and one underneath the back of the car......I have this setup(GCC Spec) and I usually get 1100km mixed driving.....

Its because in the outback you can drive for hundreds of kms with no Petrol (Gas) station

GCC specs are left hand wheel and the 13+ models comes with the big tank. One of the reasons it’s very popular here. Highway driving it can go 1400km.

They just stopped importing them to the USA(2014 was the last model there) since there is a hefty %20 import tax(since the 90's) plus the increase in the FJ price over time which killed it(Yen to us dollar). For the rest of the world, the right and left hand drive fj's where still in production to at least the last quarter of 2017....I have even seen a dealership video from the philippines showing a 2018 model, but it could be the last of the 2017 production batch labeled as 2018...Here in the the UAE there are still few for sale with 2017 labeling.

any idea my 2007 TOYOTA FJ CRUISER shudders at around 35-45mph? they say it's the Torque Convertor or transmission fluid... I just got it and hope to make some mods. Thanks

I paid $44,000 for my brand spankin new 2014 FJ Cruiser in the United States. In Australia they are paying about $46k and the Philippines I saw going for around $43k US dollars for the present year 2021 on KZbin.
