Great instructional videos. I realize it can be quite cumbersome creating these videos while performing the work. I have a 2019 and I’m figuring this vid should apply. Also, if possible, I’d like to see a closeup of the installed teflon seals. Specifically the one you said there was a space of some sort. I’m concerned if that happens if and when I do this. Sorry I don’t have any closer up of the Teflon seal. I thought the gap would be an issue when I installed it and run the engine but so far, that isn’t an issue and I believe that’s how it is made when you use the compressed tool. Just make sure you use the .312 compress tool and .310 last to compress it in fully, you can’t go wrong once you compress the Teflon down like I did. This was my first attempt so it was a bit chaotic. Overall, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Just follow the video and you can’t go wrong with it.

Most likely when it needs it, it’s a pretty low mileage vehicle, only around 33k miles I believe and the brakes still looks good.

Is buying all the parts necessary Or can I reuse the parts I take off (Nothing is broken on my fuel rail system ,just gonna work on thermostat ) I wanna tackle this weekend

@@SKETCH-956 if you remove the fuel rail, it is recommended that you reseal the injectors… you can try reusing it and see if it’ll leak or not. I haven’t tried it myself so I have no recommendations for that. Let me know how it goes. You should replace the intake manifold gaskets and air bleed o rings though, overtime, those become harden and brittle and can leak air and coolant from those gaskets.

@ No just one fuel rail I believe that’s how you did it in the video

@@SKETCH-956 I removed one fuel rail because the wire harness was broken, but if you remove both of them, that’s how you’ll get the metal coolant pipe out, or else it won’t come out with just 1 fuel rail removed.

What caused this repair to be necessary? Thinking about buying a 2017-2019 XT5....

@@benk1582 my fuel injector wire harness was broken, so I had to remove the fuel injectors to get to it. If yours working fine, then this isn’t necessary.

@@benk1582 you’ll most likely run into the “steering assist is reduced, drive with care” message. Which you’ll just need to replace the thermostat.
