You may already know this but when you're running into wherever you can leave the fob in the truck, then on the door keypad press the bottom two buttons simultaneously to lock it so it doesn't honk at you, then just use your code to get back in the truck. I use this all this method all the time and love it!

Also, the new LED banks in the headlights are particularly useful for spotting any low-lying Priuses in the Whole Foods parking lot when making late night kale chip runs for the kids/other-daddy. At any considerable rate of speed, a collision between this F450 and a Prius would result in an invariable amalgamation of molecularly fused low-grade chrome-plated plastic and recycled beverage can aluminum. Enough out of me, I've got some manly shit to do in my new superduty!

im a ram guy. always have been. im 23. my first truck was a 2013 ram R/T (which i still have and will keep) now I'm looking into the heavy duty market. i was looking into the ram 3500. but after seeing this. damn! that truck is a beauty.

just be warned if your gonna buy this truck wait one model year. and also the powerstokes have been plagued with egr problems if you modify the engine with a tune or any super heavy performance mods. you can do them but there has been some really bad horror stories where people have had to do engine swaps on their trucks. personally i would still buy one but to each their own. i also like the cummins mega cab.

I just ordered a 2017 Chevrolet 3500 Dually. I got the gasoline WT 2WD. I live in Oakland, Calif. and don't do any off roading. Ford, Dodge, and Chevrolet/GMC put out beautiful trucks these days. Your Ford is spectacular! Great showcase of it! Great Non-MALT LIQUOR Video.

Very nice truck. I'll probably be getting that exact same truck (in Plat White) around June of next year.... I currently have a 2016 F450 Platinum and love it. How do you like the tires so far? I'm considering those exact tires in the same size. How much did they increase the height? Are you a member of Ford-Trucks.com? If not, you should join. Nice truck! So far I really like the tires. I wasn't sure at first and I felt like I was herding the truck down the road but I dropped the tire pressure and they are breaking in it is much better. I height was not noticeable. The biggest thing is filling up some of the fender. I don't know if I could have went any bigger than I did. These tires do not rub at all the next size up might rub. No I am not a member I will look into it.

That's the best looking truck on the market. I just bought a 16 f250 6.7 for the concrete business and I haven't owned a ford for 19 years and finally bought one. For some reason the fords have grew on me and i just love them. May be I am turning into a Ford guy. Ford just took back the market with the 17's in a big way. A lot of chevy and ram guys are gunna be buying these new Fords. It fun to see such nice rigs on the road.

FWIW my 08 F450 went 102,000 miles on the Continentals and that's what I bought for replacements. Had original brakes at 138k when I sold it. TPMS is not on any of the Dually truck. You can extend the inner valve stems and use aftermarket. They actually read analog readings. Some will handle 12 tires. Warranty this truck for 200k on the engine and as much as you can get on everything else. Use Blackstone to test oil everytime it's changed. 2016 splash guards might fit. Mine had lights in them. Back then the lights can on with remote start so the head and tail lights, splash guard lights and step bar lights all came on.

Hey Tyler! The f450 is a really nice truck and great that you did this video, congrats to your truck!! I'm from Sweden and just ordered a new F450 with same spec as yours with delivery in September. When it comes to towing it's not allowed to have a gooseneck with elec/hyd brakes. It has to be with air brakes and 5th wheel. All the best and waiting for more videos to come!👍

if you want to lock it while running and leave your keys in it try pushing the last two keys on your outer keypad together, 78-90. should lock your doors while it's running. then just enter your code to unlock. I do it all the time. nice rig!

Hey, if you want to get out of the truck and leave it running you can keep the fob in the truck and lock your doors by holding down 7 and 9 at the same time on your door key entry. And when you get back type your code in and it will unlock. Try it. I think it might be a fix to your problem

Nice truck man. Delete all of the emissions crap(DPF filter & EGR coolers) ASAP and it will be good for a long time. Provided you take good care of it of course. Oil and filter every 5k and fuel filters every 10k. Motorcraft only. Following the extreme duty maintenance schedule is a must. Good luck man.

Have you ever thought about what would happen if you kept the kids in the car with it running and locked it....ran inside to the bank or whatever....and the vehicle caught on fire ? I used to do the same thing with my kids and my vehicle. I stopped because someone told me about a vehicle catching fire while it was running with his kids inside. It was a small engine compartment fire. The fire didn't do any harm to the kids, it was the SMOKE.....they inhaled the super heated smoke and ended up in the ICU for months. So I would reconsider keeping your kids in the car while it's running and locking the doors. I have stopped..so should you. Thanks for the reviiew. It was good...enjoy the truck and godspeed.

You can leave the keyfob in the truck and use your code to lock it. Keep the truck running, leave key fob in. Hit "7" and "9" at the same time to lock all the doors. Enter your code when you get back to the truck to unlock it...

I'm really impressed by these new gen Fords, and especially the F150 diesel coming next year. I was a Dodge guy for most of my life. I have owned a 93 12valve, a 98 12valve, a 2000 24 valve (LOVED THEM ALL BTW) but now I only have a 2015 crew cab cummins, a 2004 crew cab powerstroke 6.0 and a 95 crew cab powerstroke 7.3. Going to sell my cummins soon and try to buy a 2016 powerstroke 6.7 crew cab.. Fingers crossed I find a good deal!

You can try manually lock the doors using the actual key when you want to leave the truck running. My car has push button start/keyless entry. When you lock the car this way, the detection of your key will be disabled. You will have to use the actual key to unlock. That’s what I do when I want to leave the car running.

Nice Truck man! I’m just 24 years old and plan to buy a black one with the new limited package. I’ll probably end up keeping it for 20 years but with a Detailing business it will be good advertising plus I’ve always had a thing for the f-450’s. I love the look of those tires. I just bought a F250 Lariat and I love it. Mine is black inside and out too. If you want, you can get the Ford Pass installed (with the security module) (so 2 pieces) and be able to use your phone or the Internet to start/stop your truck. I just did that. I tried to get mud flaps too, but they don't make them yet. Oh, I got the Ford side window visors too. One thing I am disappointed in is the towing specs. They suck for the 250.

they are a little disappointing if you get the diesel option. the gas is actually pretty good. but its gas so towing is not going to be east or fuel efficient. i guess ford thought if you are really gonna tow you need the f350 srw or drw or the 450

You can use the Forescan software to get rid of the horn honk feature. The truck looks amazing...I am deciding between the F350 SRW and the DRW....of course I would love the Platinum. I currently own a 2013 F150 Platinum and love the Platinum features!

I think you can lock it with the keypad on the door while its running if I remember right. At least on as recent as a 2010. I used that sometimes in the middle of winter to keep the cab warm while running in to get a pizza or something.

Pretty impressive! So much so, I went to my local dealership to look at the Super Duty line in which they only had the F250. I did see the Platinum Series and the Lariat, like night and day difference. I have a 2000 F250 Super Duty Lariat, V10, manual 5 Speed that I love, the only drawbacks are it is a single wheel, and a gas engine, but after seeing this, I may have to say so long to my baby! Your new truck is very impressive, and my only question is what did you pay for this as we see it, without your tire upgrade if you don't mind sharing? Thanks for the review, well done!! Razor!

Find the code for the keypad on your door. It is one of the greatest but underappreciated features on Ford vehicles. You can lock and unlock your doors without the fob or key. I can leave my expedition running in the summer for a quick trip into the bank or convenience store. Also at the beach so I don't have to worry about losing the key. Plus if you know your code it's almost impossible to lock your keys in the car. The only way would be if the battery went dead while the keys were in there or some other malfunction.

I believe that you can lock the truck via the number pad on the door (holding 7-8, 9-0) regardless of the location of the key and if the truck is running or not. Give that a try, I think I recall being able to do that when I've played with these. Nice review!

if you have the ford programmer, you can turn off the double honk, also if u don't want to do that but really want to leave the truck running then put down the window, close the door and grab the key and trigger the window to go back up (if it has auto up and down) sounds like more work then it is but the system will just say no key detected till u get back the truck also it will keep running for a max of what ever you have it set to, default is 10 minutes I believe

Man you prob can keep the key in the truck lock the door shut it go inside, come back out and use your number pad on your door to unlock and get back in. Also you can lock it from that keypad if it won't let you lock it on the inside. Try it out. Enjoy your nice new truck!

Try locking the truck using the last two buttons (7-8,9-0) on the keypad on the door. It will lock with your key in your pocket with the engine on that way. I do it all the time with my F150. That keypad has many tricks that are useful. Most ppl I know don't use it.

Very nice truck coming from a Dodge owner, the one things that worries me is all the features that "currently aren't available", I know when I bought my 2015 Ram there was a few options like the hands free texting, and remote start via Iphone app that I was told my truck would get an update for however two years later these options still aren't available in Canada.

awesome video. I've been a huge fan of the F-450 forever because it really has a commanding presence. I drove one a few weeks ago and I could easily tell that other people in similar vehicles looked a whole lot more interested in the truck when they saw that specific branding. I couldn't imagine even having that kind of capital to get a luxurious beast like that, but man is she one fine piece of truck 😀

It looks pretty Righteous! My son has its little brother, an F-250 Extended Cab. his is the gas engine.i was impressed with it. It's a real workhorse, even in the category of a lighter duty truck. This one (F-450) is way stronger and has a lot more features than my son's! When I buy mine, I think I would want to set it up like yours. Does it have 3.55 rear axle? That's sweet if it does. No strain on the engine to cruise at any speed. Is yours a diesel? I'm assuming it is. There might be a lot more questions from me when it becomes time to sit and spec it out. It's Really awesome of you to do a review of it like this. Thanks for sharing this video. Ford needs to step up to the plate and do an in depth review of their own. I also have in mind to pull a 5th wheel trailer, and maybe even make it do some work too.

Absolute beautiful truck. I have a 08 450 king ranch and went with the same tire as you. They are great tires for the rear (over 45k mile on them and not even half life) but the front i had to replace after about 20k mile because the out side of my tire wore down so fast. This is due to the wider wheel base up front for the wider turning radius. Just giving you a heads up, but i love the truck and would love to get one.

I use the key pad on the driver door to unlock the truck. Also the reason I leave the key fob in the truck is if the truck is running and I get out of the truck with the fob in my pocket and shut the door the horn honks. It drives me crazy. Living in idaho if I have to get out to hook up the trailer and its snowing I don't want to leave the door open or shut off the truck. Thankyou we love it.

My 2013 Flex also blows the horn twice if you exit the vehicle and close the door fully with it running which I agree is a PITA and Ford should offer a way to turn that off. Rather than keep reaching in my pocket for the key fob to leave it in the vehicle I carefully shut the door on just the first / safety latch position instead of closing the door all the way. This secures the door so it won't swing or blowing open and the horn doesn't blow.

Double honk can be disabled with Forscan. Change BCM 726-41-02 xxx0 xxxx xxxx. Leave the x's the same and change only that 4th bit to 0.

Dealer can turn off the Horn beeps and some other annoying things the truck may do. Might be able to get it done at an independent if he has a Good Scanner like a Snap On.

sweet truck!! The one thing is i don't like is the push to start button. Your not letting the truck to prime fuel and not giving the glow plugs a chance to glow before starting the truck. I'm am learning on ford diesel trucks. I do believe that ford make a mistake putting push to start button on there ford diesel trucks. Once again sweet truck!!!

When it is cold it does wait to start. So I believe that the plugs do get to run like they are supposed to. When you push the button when it is cold it does have a delay before the motor starts.

I have a 350 single rear wheel on order, 2013 being traded. Two questions; Do you notice the extra power of the 6.7 compared to the previous spec? Did the new tire diameter mess with your navigation a bit, or did you have the new diameter programmed into the truck? I went a little bigger in my 2013 and it threw my nav off a bit.

Tyler B what kind of fuel mileage are you getting on average? How would you say the ride is? I had a 2008 F450 and it was pretty rough when unloaded and to be fair that should be expected. I heard they changed the cab mounts and was curious if it helps the ride any.

On average I am getting 13ish. I would say the ride is like a truck but not bad at all. I think it rides very close to the same as my 16 F-350. I can say this I had a loaner ram 4500 with a flat bed and that thing rode like a tank. This truck rides like a Cadillac compared to that truck. But it just begs to be hooked up to a heavy trailer if you know what I mean.

Tyler B: Interesting. I've driven the new F250 Super Duty a few times and was wondering how the F450 road compared to my 2016. It's good to know the rides are about the same.

That's a beautiful truck, but isn't maintenance more expensive on the 450 vs the 350? I'm planning on buying one myself in a couple years, but I'm leaning more toward the 350 for reduced maintenance costs

Awesome rig.....I currently have a Black 2008 F-450 with 65K miles on it in mint condition and debating if I should pull the trigger on a 2017. Tough to justify the money, although if I could get ~$30K for mine private sale and anti-up ~$50K towards the 2017 this might make it a reasonable. Was wondering if you got the heavy duty front suspension upgrade option and if you think it raises the front end a bit.
