Thanks this really helps! I’ve moved to Germany and have to make my car pass inspection her e. The red leds have to be yellow. I have cut the housing open. With you experience, could I change the leds from the board and add yellow ones to the board?

I got a 2018 fusion titanium and just got the spoiler with the LED brake light in it. Would you recommend tying into the brakes hard lined or find different way. Not to car savvy but I try to do what I can while self taught.

Can you post a picture of the colors of wire and the corresponding wire from the tail lights? Like what color wire splices to which color wire for both sides

Due to the car's wire color differences from left to right and from year to year (they do change) testing the connections at the plug is the only way to truly know which wire does what. I've even seen official wire diagrams for the year make and model be incorrect. All you really need to test is a cheap multimeter or even a 12v bulb and some wire. This way you will get it right the first time.
