Old Ford GT all the way for me. The new one is in a R35/new NSX category for me, I respect it but I don´t love it. I LOVE the R34 GTR and the old Ford GT though. They somehow have more soul to me. Also, I know the Turbo V6 is more powerful and lighter, but a Ford GT needs a V8. It just does. And I wouldn´t care at all that the V8 is a little slower.

I totally agree with Karl. Cars are meant to be driven. I have personally added 160KKm, by daily driving my 2003 Porsche 986 Boxster S, with Getrag man 6. I like that it has no stability or traction control. I have installed all upgrades, tuning and maintenance myself. I want the full experience. Thank you for sharing.

Honestly when I first saw the GT i was impressed but when I learned about the super exclusive buying process the half million dollar price tag and the ecoboost V6 I drew more of a love towards the 05 GT that car looks almost exactly like the Le Mans winner of the 60s Not just that but 2005 was the year my personal dream car the 5th gen mustang was introduced that mustang brought back the retro styling perfectly in my mind and while there 10 years old I want it over the new 2015 In any case the same would be said for the 05 GT if I could afford it cuz the car is like 300,000 dollars if not more I've heard that the car will depreciate once the new GT goes on the market I kinda hope it does

Well there are some factors... first is obviously the styling, for my hot take, it's even more radical and better than most italian exotics. second, it's almost entirely made out of carbon fiber, ford is basically losing money by selling those new GT's. third, the new GT is also a Le Mans winner, it got some heat and reputation on it's name.

:o A "race" would miss the point. These cars need to be run on multiple tracks one at a time to see which one is the dominant machine. I'd wager the GT will win based solely on it being a bespoke chassis.

I'd say acr would easily win everyone i've seen driving at mid ohio destroys anything that's not a full fledged racecar and even then some race cars i've seen actually run slower laps the z06 and gt just dont have the mechanical grip of an acr.

InternetDude Yeah. It works for F1 cars and mainly there is no other choice. There is simply no other place to put the swithces. In the Ford GT however... It's bit too much. I think it beats Ferrari in this button madness. It's nice to have important stuff on the wheel so you wouldn't need to take off your hand from the steering wheel, but overloading it is not good...

InternetDude You are forgetting that this new GT is a track car that can be taken on the road. They left it as closely similar to its LM1 variant as possible, and that's why the steering wheel is set up as it is. So much nitpicking in these comments smh

I don't get the idea behind putting the buttons on the steering wheel. Usually they claim it's because it's a performance-oriented, driver-focused car, but wouldn't it make more sense to have a steering wheel that has no buttons at all (like in a GT3 RS)? I know they have buttons in F1 and so on but those actually have a function like DRS, changing the engine map,... . On a Ferrari or GT there's nothing that you'd really need on track though. You always see Ferraris accidentally using their turn signals or honking on the track because all the bullshit is on the wheel. To me it seems stupid.
