LMAO yea for sure, I've never seen someone with such an ax to grind but rightfully so. That dealership screwed him over hard, thing is dealerships don't care how many cars you've bought from them in the past, they care about what you're doing for them right now. Hopefully dude got this resolved.

Marshall: His homework was good but the video was painful to watch. Also the advice the first lawyer gave NOT to drive the car was rock solid and he was foolish to ignore it-----the basis for these lawsuits is the car is UNSAFE TO DRIVE. By driving it, he can no longer make that claim..he is lucky to have won. Plus to make things worse he signed an agreement with the first lawyer not to drive it, but did so anyway. Plus++++ by driving the car he is making the defect worse, and can do damage that might make other problems. Plus++++ if he can afford to pay $75,000 cash for a car, he can afford to drive his other car for a while. Feel bad for the guy, but some bad judgments were made here.

Then suddenly the car will just jerk forward. Or sometimes on the freeway the vehicle will not accelerate past 55 then suddenly jerks! AMMOMAN: I might not be a mechanic but started in the car business back in the 1970's and I get over $2 million in factory test cars to drive every year so know a bit. This car was NOT a mechanic car repair issue it was a BODY SHOP repair issue! This car had been wrecked either after it left the factory or during a trip down the assembly line. just as a body shop repair man is not qualified to work on car engines, and mechanic is not qualified to do frame/body damage work. Body shops are trained to fix wrecks that have taken far worse impacts than something as minor than this, and that is the type of shop the car should have been sent to, yet in the video he made it very clear it kept being sent back to the service center where they kept replacing front end parts which obviously was NOT the problem. The frame or unibody if we call it that was twisted. I live right down the road from the Bondurant racing school where they have 96 Hellcats in the fleet....they run the crap out of these cars every day giving more wear in a day than this guy did in a month. Each car goes through a 20 sets of tires every year! They could have fixed this Hellcat blindfolded.

Damaged in transport from the factory or an error during the build. I worked in the used car market for 20 years... A frame damaged car deserves only a SALVAGE TITLE. Now it could be fixed but it's not the kind of work a dealer would do. Alignment is caster, camber and toe, many make only have provisions for toe adjustment. Camber can be added at the Strut/Knuckle bolts by slotting the top hole at the strut, caster could be done by modification of the upper strut mounting or a strut rod that is threaded to locate the control arm(These would come with the car.). Looking at the body panel alignment I don't believe that the car was hit but had the problem built in or maybe, but not for certain by transport(Some of those guys are not to bright on handling cars). For a new car not being able to be aligned tells me that the car is not marketable as a new vehicle by any means. The dealer knows this. If that car were to be sold from a dealer used without disclosing frame damage the dealer would having a legal problem for not buying the vehicle back.(At least in California.) I worked 21 years in used car reconditioning and a frame inspection is the first order of business. If it doesn't pass we returned the car to the dealer. In some cases we would arbitrate if it was a car for purposes other than resale as a running car for resale. Like parts or racing. Robot assembly is not infallible. Some of the stories I have heard about cars that just drove from the assembly line to the factory storage lot would curl your hair.

Panel alignment looks too good. Could still be from transport though... A careless flatbed driver could have done damage with the winch while securing it to the tow truck. I've seen that come in, sometimes with tears in the metal from the hooks. The only way to know is measurements on a frame rack. Any tweakage bad enough to move the strut towers should make the hood fit look bad. It looks perfect in the videos. What gets me is who was doing the alignment that though moving the subframe like that was helping. With those measurement the car should have went down the road at an angle that would be noticeable if you followed the car down the road. It would make a great circle track car if it pulled left instead of right. :)

Dude this isn’t some word of mouth shit here. You can work in dealership but if you think this bullshit being all over KZbin won’t hurt their business, you’re either crazy or don’t understand how things work nowadays. You’re reputation can get ruined by a single tweet. This is just as bad if not worse. Social media can be the bane of retailers everywhere because the shit is instant. Again, this isn’t people whining at the water cooler at work. Thousands of people have seen this the first few hours it was posted. Give it week and it could be a hundred thousand people. If you don’t think that many people seeing bad publicity that fast won’t have an impact on business, not trying to be ugly, but your fucking crazy.

I had a lemon too, car wouldn't start at random times and it was in service for weeks, replacing battery, starter, wiring harness, ... They eventually blamed wireless signals in the sky (yes, seriously). I owned 2 of the same cars (same spec, same year), and 1 did not have this issue. They also tried to bill me for the repairs since according to them it was related to the wireless signals in the sky and not the car. Traded in both cars at another dealership and completely destroyed their reputation. I may have put in too much effort, I changed jobs that put me in the position of working for their parent company and I dragged their name through the dirt.

After 2 Transmission changes and countless other issues I hired a lawyer for 1,600$. After a month I got a call from the lawyer too meet her at the original dealership and that Acura was just going to go ahead and give me a new car same model. When I walked in the Manager was there staring me down and talking shit too me. My lawyer got there and the rep from Acura. Finally after 2 hours and signing paperwork they pulled the new Car up to the door for me to inspect. Surprisingly the car was perfect. Clean inside and out. I drove away and my car still runs perfectly. It’s so stupid how dealerships and manufacturers can’t just admit when something goes wrong and make it right. Great video Brotha!

Your tire problem on the back was from the giant hole-shots these guys were doing on your prized possession when in their possession. The carriage shift that they performed on your vehicle did nothing to remedy the problem other than made it dogleg down the street. The multiple days left at the repair places and the hundreds of miles put on it was only an opportunity for eager service guys to go out and rape you and put your car through more abuse. You got screwed over by the stealership and moreover by the manufacturer. The manufacturer should of required them to allow you to surrender the car to them. I would not of went back for seconds personally and bought the wide body. Much thanks for making the vid and exposing these jerks. If they lost one sale than you did your due diligence, but I have a hunch that this video's effects are going to be far-reaching and hit them hard. They deserve and own that.

It's not a lemon. That car has been wrecked. Those problems don't happen from the factory. They don't want to take it back because they don't want to admit it's been wrecked. Selling a car that's been wrecked as if it were new is a crime and they know it. Best thing to do is take it to an outside reliable garage and have them certify that it's been wrecked. After that paperwork goes to your lawyer. You go to court and they will be forced to take it back.

Certainly possible. If your unibody gets damaged lets say by improper strapping on the car carrier it could affect the steering axis inclination. NO wheel alignment or subframe adjustment is going to fix that and if your not looking for that issue you could chase a wheel alignment problem forever without finding the cause. The fact that the dealer wanted to do or did a subframe adjustment is ridiculous. That would be a huge red flag for anyone that knows anything about wheel alignments or collision repair. This vehicle was either damaged at one point before that sale or something got fucked up when they welded the unibody together at the factory.

I used to work for Towbin Dodge in the service drive and all over the dealership over the years. They are the biggest cheats. I caught the service department doubling the oil change wait times AGAINST what the manual recommends, in regards to the dealer using "semi-synthetic" fluid. About a year into doubling every customer's oil change wait times and clearing the miles from when it's due, til the next. I find out that in the parts department, the base oil used in those oil changes is cheap bulk conventional oil. So, then it goes to motive....in service, creating unnecessary wear and tear on customers new vehicles by doubling the build up on engine sludge unnecessarily by lying to customers about the oil being used and the proper "updated" intervals. Makes sense as to destroy their customers cars to sell them new ones over and over. Sneaky af. I even met with Chop at a local restaurant on my birthday to have a sit down about his practices and going to the media. He threatened me and then changed his oil the next day apparently. But over the years, I worked there during the shows and can personally vouch that behind the scenes in most ways, this dealer is shady, untrustworthy and fraudulent. I've worked in the sales tower, my ex wife worked along with the head of security and saw it too. All the top guys are gone and moved over to Chapman anyway. Chop doesn't even respect or care for his own employees.

I believe 100% of what you have said, many current and past employees have provided detailed info about various business practices along with an uncountable amount of customers with the larger percentage being female that have been taken advantage of and have experienced dirty dealings when it comes to purchasing new and used cars from this dealership. That has seriously negatively effected their lives some in ways they will never recover from, even a Metro Officer, the level of greed is mind blowing, running the # 1 Dealership clearly was not enough that resorting to deceptive and or "possibly" even practices that according to the Law may not be so above the line I will just leave it at that is inexcusable, I am thankful I never dealt with that end of it, just done dirty at the end for no clear apparent reasoning. that is what motivated me to make the video, now that dealership is at the bottom with reputation and sales and Chapman has retained the # 1 & 2 Position consistently since this fiasco - and rightfully deserved, I have purchased two Challengers from them a RedEye and a Drag Pak and the guys are great, I appears what goes around comes around as it is called Karma. Also, FCA is a whole big barrel of monkeys also, it is what it is though, appreciate the message.

@Gmtail
@Gmtail 6 жыл бұрын
The dealers don't make the interest, the banks providing the loans do.. However I will say most dealers don't care if you pay cash or not, in fact some would rather you finance it because you can usually bargain more on the price with cash. There has also been cases of certain banks pushing their products on dealers, so the dealer can get a kick back for using them.

So actually very true. I just bought a used car and paid cash and thought they would bow down to me cause I did. And they could careless about cash. Here's why. I asked the sales guy to be straight up honest about it. And why not I already bought the car so need to bullshit shit me right? So he was hella cool and told me why cash is not king. Yes some dealerships make interest on financing cars. If they have a deal with bank they can actually make the interest every Month you make a car payment. On a cash deal they realy don't make shit for the car in fact he told me they only make on average 500 to 1000 dollars per car on cash deals and make way more when getting the buyer to finance.

O and another thing. I can tell this service manager is a piece of crap. Because those scratches on the rims are from a one dollar plastic protector on the tire machine that wears out and needs replacing about every 100 or so tires. I worked for some.... (All the managers I ever worked for.) Never wanted to replace or repair things like that. When I ran my shop it was checked before every tire. Only takes a second to check and about 5 min to get the part and put it on. Not much effort to save a $1000.00 worth of rims.

I've been a professional mechanic for 40 yrs. I started into watching your video expecting to see a whiner with unreasonable expectations. NOT the case, I was wrong. You have documented your experience VERY well. I hope your issue was resolved in the end. I'm from Oklahoma, when I was a kid in the early '70s, I used to occasionally see a Cadillac driving around that was white with BIG yellow lemons painted ALL over it and a sign, "I bought my lemon from ("dealer name")". I believe it had even made the local news. In the end, I had heard the dealer ended up buying it back for even more than the guy originally paid for the car just to get it off the streets. That was going to be my suggestion to you, up 'til the end where you explained you found another dealer that agreed to help.

Unfortunately, after working at a FCA dealership, I have seen the poor build quality of many of their vehicles, and would think twice about buying from one of their dealerships. It's sad that Towbin Dodge acted in such a childish manner, and one can only hope that it negatively impacts their future business, however, as with most 'stealerships' in large cities, they have plenty of other "victims" to prey on. You did a great video here, and with that and spreading the word locally through car clubs, enthusiast sites, and other gatherings, maybe Towbin will feel the pain they have inflicted on customers. Even though I haven't ever owned one, I always enjoyed looking at Dodge Challengers, but after seeing this video, I'll be dammed if I ever buy one from Towbin!! Thanks for taking the time to inform. I'm usually in LV once or twice every year … hope to see you cruisin' in your new widebody some day!! :)

Former FCA engineer here. I am sorry that you had to experience this awful inconvenience. I always hated the fact that the dealerships have terrible synergy with the corporate world. They do a lot of things wrong, especially in servicing and case handling. Usual mechanics at dealerships are jokes compared to the master mechanics at Auburn Hills.
@REDZ28won
@REDZ28won 6 жыл бұрын
Well the FCA engineers need to tell the people who write the Diagnosis charts to do it right and also whoever does the wiring diagrams to get the right wire colors and terminal positions on the diagrams so the vehicles can be diagnosed properly by the techs in the field.
@damnbdboy
@damnbdboy 6 жыл бұрын
I don't think the techs in the field acknowledge that they don't understand something. If they really don't, then they should do something about it. Its not an impossible task to bring it to the attention of the tech training department. I actually helped a guy who is in charge of documenting and writing instructions for techs on repair jobs. He did an excellent job, dude took his time to cover on how to remove an aux battery on wranglers. It was so thorough as if he was explaining it to a 10-year-old.
@REDZ28won
@REDZ28won 6 жыл бұрын
Sure some techs dont, but most open what they Call a Star case for Help. If that doesn't resolve the problem they send a field tech out to look at the car. Then it gets escalated from there. As far as understanding. Its almost impossible to understand how every new technology works on every vehicle when the information they give you doesn't make sense half the time.

Yeah, but dealership mechanics can't even fill the oil to the correct level. This happened to the guy in the vid, myself, and other people I know -- it's not anomaly The biggest retards work at the dealerships and there is little care and effort to take care of the customer's car (like not doing stupid stuff to damage it). I hate taking my car there. One time I took my car the the dealership and they didn't even re-attach the air filter intake to the air filter box, after the oil change. So I was sucking unfiltered air as I drove around. GREAT!

@johnspartan98 5 жыл бұрын
Why make adjustments to the front when it's the back end making the car pull? It has to be the back end because the back tires were wearing, not the front. They should have started by putting a different set of tires and rims on the back end, chalk the treads on all tires, take it for a short drive, check to see if the chalk comes off evenly and see if the pull is gone. If not fixed, replace the whole rear differential. I'm betting that's your problem right there.....bad Rims or bad differential.

I bought a low mileage 1982 Z/28 with their 5.0 H.O. engine with the 5-speed transmission. About a year later, the cluster gear started devouring itself. I had a transmission specialist who not only owned his own shop and taught transmission repair at UTI. 6 months later, the new cluster gear did the same thing. After dancing around with Chevrolet for two months, I finally spoke with a regional service manager. I asked him, "If I replaced everything from the bellhousing back, what would the warranty be?" His reply was "90 days." I then asked him, "What would the warranty be if I replaced the drivetrain with an automatic, what would the warranty be?" "12 months or 12,000 miles." "What's the difference?" "The 5-speed is warrantied as parts, while the automatic is warrantied as an assembly." What I later found out was that 1) the Borg-Warner T5 transmission was designed for the Chevette, 2)( you could NOT order the T5 with a 5.7-liter engine, 3) they knew this transmission was junk, yet installed them behind engines that they could not survive behind. It all reminds me of the TH200 fiasco when GM was sued for putting that transmission in almost ALL of their smaller engine cars. They dragged it out in court for 7 years, until finally, they agreed to "replace the transmission if you were the original owner of the vehicle." Now, let me ask you if you had a car that been in the shop for the same thing multiple times, would you still own that vehicle?"
