2017 or 2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro - What’s the difference?

Here I do a walk around of a Super White 2017 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro and my 2020 Army Green. Not too many differences really... is that a good or bad thing?

Just recently went to the Chicago Auto Show and Toyota had there Tacoma,Tundra,4 Runner, and Sequioa all in army green. Was my first time seeing army green in person and I really liked it. Have to see it in person to really admire the color. Kinda wishing I would have purchased army green instead of the black.

schutte83 Black is a solid choice though... they look amazing all blacked out. Fact is you have an amazing rig, regardless of the color!

The 2017 was the last year that has none of that nanny state "safety sense" crap and other sticker price bloating tech that nobody asked for. I am perfectly capable of driving without "safety sense" and not crash into things all by myself, thank you. Lol

I like the front end of the older version. Like that grill more etc. like the options on the 2020, TSS ETC. both are excellent!

Like the wheel and tire package on yours more, also the led black housing headlights and Rigid fog lights. The army green can't be beat and the hood scoop is a nice feature as well. Both nice looking trucks. Six half dozen to the other that guys in Golds getting pumped.

Sam DaSham agreed... definitely happy I made the swap over to the Tundra now... then again the 2022 will likely come out and out mine to shame lol... I’ve always been a huge fan of white/black trucks. And yeah, I was just leaving the gym too... *eyes shifting* =]

The 2020 does have more options then the 2017. My friend has a 2017 TRD PRO, and I have a 2017 Limited, we both added the Magnuson Super Charger,. Wow is all I can say.

Man... I'd love to slap a supercharger on this... but I'd wonder what it'd do to that long-term reliability?...

Untamed Motors I had a friend with T100 with the TRD supercharger he got 200,000 miles on the truck before he sold it. Like anything it is about maintenance. Instead 10,000 mile I change my oil at 5,000. Plus I don’t romp it the time. I installed because I pull a 7,000 lb travel trailer. The power is nice have at higher attitudes. But it is fun!

I miss that glorious accelleration from the Raptor and wide fender flares... but that's it. I prefer the V8 over the 6 cylinder. I enjoy knowing this 5.7L is beyond reliable. With the Raptor, it was a just a matter of time before it needed some type of repair. Honestly, on my way to the dealership to trade it in, my transmission was starting to act up. I never looked into it -so I'm not sure if the tranny is notoriously a problem or if I was just experiencing a fluke problem. I like the resale that comes with the Pro as well. The Raptor had great residual value but I seriously wonder for how much longer given their extreme uptick in production 2019-2020.

Ay 1.20 you can see kinda on the tire the size is 285/65r18. So just shy of a 33 tall and slightly bigger than the factory tires the pros come with. A happy medium imo is the 275 70 18. A tall and narrow 33.

They both have dual exhaust. The tires he has are not stock. The TRD PROS have been those shitty Michelin for years.
