I came from a GSX-R750 to and FZ-07 I wouldn't call it a beginner bike, but it is a bike you can buy and never need to get rid of because it's so versatile. I really like mine so far and it's got more than enough power for any rider that is using it for commuting and street use. I'd even venture to say you'd be able to get in more trouble on it rather than a bigger bike like the FZ-09.

@@Fee.1 I've moved on to a BMW 1250GSA that being said I would 100% still pick the FZ07 it was an overall more fun bike. This is also the reason I own the GSA since they are similar in the way the engine outputs power more torque than high speed and revs. The GSX-R750 just had speed on the FZ07, but lacked fun factor outside of that...

جابر المغامر مول الزريعة هشام normally I would agree, however Suzuki and several other makers have managed to make great sounding stock exhausts, and I would say cuz it is such a affordable bike too so that might play into it, but I like how they changed the z650s stock exhaust. it is forgiveable cuz the bike is just so nice regardless. but it is a pain changing an exhaust just cuz u want to change its sound (not volume, in my case, just sound). I have put slips on but I am getting to the point where I don't want to have to mess with an exhaust and then a power commander to make it work rights. it adds up. this bike is just so nice tho

Denis Hanjoul what's it like riding on the freeway? Is the wind tolerable?
@denishanjoul7 жыл бұрын
Depends on how tall you are (I am 1.90m (6'3")) and on the distance you're doing. For long stretches at +120kph (+75mph) I would recommend a screen for your own comfort. I've ridden with and without a screen for a certain period of time and prefer the screen, even though it compromises the look of the bike a bit in my opinion. I have a Dart Manta Flyscreen (dark tint) installed. Does a good job and makes cruising at 140kmp (90mph) no issue.
@JH-di3nu7 жыл бұрын
Denis Hanjoul thanks for your input, that's really helpful. I'm 6'4" and was wondering if there were any windscreens that would help for tall riders. I'll definitely consider the one you mentioned. Thanks again!

Denis Hanjoul I was thinking of getting it as my first bike as well with no prior experience. So did you think it was a good decision?
@denishanjoul7 жыл бұрын
Definitely. Engine is super smooth, plenty of mid range power. Throttle can be snappy, but it all depends on how you modulate it. But since I use the bike for my commute to work (which is 95% highway use), I am considering swapping it for the 700 Tracer. Just because that bike is a little bit bigger and offers more wind protection.

Nick5220 - you can do stupid stuff on a harley too. Being 16 you may have not realized the grass is greener effect. I have the Australian learner apporved version of the FZ 07 (MT 07), and it's had ABS since 2015. I have the 2016 ABS MT 07 in Race Blue and Silver as a first bike. Excellent bike, has butt loads of torque and power, even for a de-tuned and bored down (655cc) engine. In my opinion, it doesn't need modes (even the "high output"), it doesn't have quite enough power for it, but it still scares the shit out of you if you chop the throttle accidently.

It has no problems or anything going high rates of speeds, and I see what he is saying about the wind fighting you but get over it. They didn't make a stripped bike with a 689cc engine that weighs literally as much as a fucking feather NOT to go over 100mph. I have also had this bike keeping up with 1000cc sport bikes, but that is because the bike is really lightweight. What I am trying to say is that this bike is meant to go quick at high rates of speeds, but that is my opinion. I have a cafe racer that has a 1973 250cc vintage engine and it goes almost 105 mph because it is a lightweight bike. Anyway great review with the bike and keep it up man!! :)

I feel like the FZ/MT line of bikes, in particular the MT-09 & MT-07 are a naked/supermoto hybrid. I have a Speed Triple RR, and often, I see the Yamaha MT-09, and think, Dam, that'd be a fun bike to own! :) Did ride a XSR900 for a while and that is a good bike. another tempting option.

Brian Brace It says a lot that a guy like that has one. He's had all kinds of bikes like an R1 but prefers the nimble FZ07.

Great job with these videos! I'd like to see you test the XSR 700 and compare to this one.

I bought my fz as a first bike. I’m a pretty good rider. Barley any chicken strips, I shift in wheelies, carving canyons... yet every time I ride I learn something new especially in the corners. No need for more until I’m pushing harder than the bike can handle. Would recommend

Good beginner bike if you have zero interest in upgrading right away?
