I like how the bar, made of some tough metal, for everyone impossible to bend, looks like some rubber stick with all those weights.
@Jafmanz5 жыл бұрын
@legitfreek Why? Titanium is much less dense and a core of titanium would have to be bigger than a core of steel to yield strenth gains. Steel is harder than titanium also and is harder to deform. Also to get a titanium bar to have the flex memory of that steel alloy used in the lifting bar you would need to add nickel.. These bars are made of steel.
@NuttyIG5 жыл бұрын
@@Jafmanz it's not just about how hard it is, but how much it can tolerate being bent. The weight distribution means there will always be the highest stress near the middle of the bar, so inevitably it has to bend to accommodate. Trying to make a rigid bar would be dangerous as it would snap in those weights.
@TheThrillhouse05 жыл бұрын
@@NuttyIG That's not necessarily true. A normal barbell would be able to hold that weight. I think Eddie Hall's 500kg lift war on a normal barbell. They just use the elephant bar here because the bend cause the bar to bounce and move. So it adds another layer of complexity to the lift.
@chrisredfield68255 жыл бұрын
@@TheThrillhouse0 ... Dude it's not about complexity, that's what things like the Stone walk, truck pull, keg toss, caber toss and similar events are for. The entire point of a deadlift is that's you're lifting a deadweight. What Nutty y said was the correct reason, it doesn't take a professional to understand the old saying "The stiffest trees are most easily cracked while the bamboo bends with the wind" [Quote from Bruce Lee]

People need to put their phone down and have some respect for the lift. Morons recording it on their crappy smart phones when there's like 18 cameramen getting professional shots from every angle. Learn to live in the moment and appreciate something as it happens.

There was a heavy deadlift montage, which included the same footage in the beginning, but it was longer and had even more epic music! Does anybody know the video? I can't find it anymore.
