Also on the Ram, the reviewer states that the towing capacity on the Ram is 7600lbs but if you opt for the 3.92 axle you get 10,200 on the 4x4.

Truck MSRP's are sky high, but deals have never been better. My 17 Big Horn stickered for 48995 and I paid $30400. Yet, we wonder why the used market is so strong, because people are morons and compare a used trucks price to new's MSRP. I can trade my truck in today for more then I paid new because dealers know they can sell it all day for 35k! Makes no sense to me!

Good review on the air ride. Another advantage off road is when the trucks are loaded down to max payload with gear and people the other two trucks will suffer from suspension sag and lose on all the approach, breakover, body and departure angles. The Ram with air ride will level out and lose nothing, making it a far better off road truck than the other two.

After two years of driving the Ram WOW power leg-room and comfort and towing I have never gotten out of Ford or Chevy 82K miles and it still feels brand new even with blue Toyota Yaris paint all over the back bumper (cell phone driver and a red light caused it)

I don't think that trucks are crappy these days, company have been selling them for so long and they have gained a lot of experience during all these years. It's now a matter of which company makes the better truck in a market that is already full of very very very reliable cars. There is no BAD choices. Just choices that are better than others.

If your talking about real off road performance you would have chosen the Raptor. There is a reason the best selling vehicle in the world is the F-150.

Ford does not set the bar. It is the bar. Over 1 million plus sold every year. Chevy and Dodge wish that can perform like an F-150. The EcoBoost is money and will continue to dominate

Those are low tow ratings for new trucks. What was the diff gear? My wife's Silverado is rated to tow 12,500, but I also found the only 3.42 in the city. Every other Silverado half ton had a 3.07 or 3.23. I'm sure that made the difference. Also changed the power delivery and helped keep the heavy truck in 4cyl mode when cruising. Still doesn't compete with the Ecoboost, but it isn't slow.

Unfortunately the IRS considers these to be family vehicles instead of work trucks because of the reduced bed length and increased passenger space, so you can’t take a full deduction for business use. I can’t believe the manufacturers could have known this because they are building very few with extended vs crew cabs. I’ve been to 6 dealers and all they have are crew cabs.

Sounded like a Ram commercial. Off raiding with Ram's best suspension available yet using Ford suspension without the FX4 suspension. How much did Fiat pay for this ? Off course the Ford used here was geared toward the luxury ride with those tires and suspension setup

Offroad shootout featuring 2 loaded trucks and one fairly basic with leather. Where's the Rebel? FX4? Maybe an All-Terrain? Wouldn't that be a more apt comparison for offroad testing?

Really? Jiggly? What about the fogged up side window in the Ford? Plus the Ram? Leave the recycle control off in the heater. Also to bring a 5.3 in to this test, in a truck averaging about 8k less than the others, when for 2k more the 6.2 is available that would make all the difference in the world! Oh the air suspension does come on all club and crew cabs! The only Ram you cannot get the air suspension in is the regular cab!

Good review, hopefully the air suspension on the Dodge is proving to be reliable, nice package overall. All good trucks I believe, I do have a 2019 F150 KR and it’s been a great vehicle overall, it corners well and with the aluminum body’s lower weight seems almost sporty. The 3.5 is not set up for high revs but certainly doesn’t lack for power, it seems to tow heavy loads without effort.

You do understand the 22" wheels on the Ford actually decreases off-road capability, especially in the snow? The 18"'s or even 20"s on the King Ranch or Platinum would make a significant difference. The Silverado and the Ram have 18" wheels, the additional give in the side walls allows for significantly more grip. Whether you realize it or not what you really did was demonstrate why putting 22" wheels on a truck that is meant for anything other than pavement is a terrible idea.

I’m glad someone pointed out how the Ford interiors feel cheap plastic wise. Plus try to find a nice f150 without a b pillar filled with paint swirls right on the dealer lot too. I still think the fords are nice but I overall like the ram better. A ram with the the 3.92 with the 5.7 is a winning combo. You really can find deals on the ram 1500. Can’t say that about the ford. As far as I’m tracking the ram is the only one offering factory extended warranty. Too me that says something there. Love the hate the ram gets but this isn’t the same truck from the early 2000’s ford fan boys.
