2018 Honda HR-V Full In Depth Review | EvoMalaysia.com

A viewer requested for the HRV E-Spec to be reviewed, so I decided to give him a helping hand, but Honda Malaysia is too kind, they handed me the top spec instead. But I would reckon the review won't be far off as the engine and transmission is identical across variants.
I know I know, it's almost hard to believe I've never driven the HR-V. So here's the slowest review ever where some idiot decided to review a car 2 years after it's launched. Here goes. :)

As a HRV owner, the magic seat is really impressed me a lot..( i delivery huge boxes to customer always) but the rear magic seat is very uncomfortable in long journey especially the middle one. the rear seat are just too nipis 😅

Your feedback is very much appreciated. When i tested the rear seats, I kinda felt it, but as I'm not an owner, I can only guess. But you're right, it's an amazing car when it comes to balancing the act of 'hollowing' the car out for space, while still achieving 5 star Ncap crash tests.

I get that throttle feeling, where the first part of the throttle is jumpy and sensitive, thn its all downhill from thr, whine, gearbox takes ages to catch up ... Not so much engine lacks torque, its just the cvt... And really, cvts should be against the law somehow, the best of them are only half as good as the conventional auto...worrying part is more and more are going this route...

+nabill arif hahahhaha i laughed at your comment! Hey you can be a good automotive writer! Apt description and hilarious bro! As for CVTs, they dont make sense when you are test driving and after buying it for the first month, but they make a lot of sense the third month onwards. Because as you go past the initial driving excitement, and began driving normally, CVTs are good in fuel economy and smoothness. And so far, Honda's CVTs are one of the very best out there. But yes, as you rev the hell out of it, it really lets you know.

+JuzLykToEat forst day when i got the HRV i was like "confirm Civic better wayyyyyy better! Then after two three days ... as i go around town with my pram, my son's scooter, even the bouncing net ... the huge boot of the HRV is just crazy that you dare to bring things along that you can't imagine earlier on. And when i started to 'not slow down' going over speed bumps ... especially if you stay in a neighborhood where the stupid committee members put 8-9 speedbumps on one road ..... the appeal is unquestionable. I can answer you like this: Civic > HRV ... but Crossovers > Sedans ...

Not surprising really. C200 only has a 1.8 liter engine (W204) ,180hp. The hrv has 140hp from its 1.8 liter engine.. With the merc being about 200kg heavier, power to weight works out to be almost the same for highway use. Not like hrv cucuk c63amg

+Yuji Haikal CX-3 has a sharper drive and a higher quality interior and a more advanced drivetrain. The HRV is by far more practical with its size and also its more affordable price.

Especially now they become the first to offer guaranteed resale value amongst mass market brands, which i think is a fantastic move to bring up their resale value and thus giving customers more confidence going for their cars. If you can stretch to rm160k, the Sorento is one class larger than the CRV.

+Halya Bans the sportage's engine is a lot more potent than the one in the HRV, handles better and a larger car too. The good thing is that the merits of the merits of the sportage has nothing to do with specs. Judging from the car itself, i'd go sportage, but dont forget that the ownership process is important too, like resale, servicing etc, which kia is behind honda by a margin
