They are designed to be consumed for up to about 2 weeks, assuming they can get fresh food up to the frontlines by then. But yes, consuming them as your only food source for more than two weeks is unhealthy

Have to say that chicken actually looked good. I remember back when I went to basic training (2008) and I got the grilled chicken. It was a formed processed patty. Wasn't horrible, but not really good either. They've definitely made a huge improvement since back then.
