The newest Canadian IMP is lighter in weight, yet packs in just as many calories as ever. This Pulled Pork, menu #12 is absolutely fantastic. With 39 grams of protein to the main course, it's very sustaining and truly delectable in it's quality. Gotta say, this is a menu worth looking for!
Currently editing an exciting review of a never before filmed US survival ration from 1957. So stay tuned for that. Had to eat a little something normal for in between, so for the folks out there who like their food a bit fresher, this one's for you. Alright cool, see ya.

As a Canadian Military member I can probably say without a doubt the FRH’s are issued separately for cost reduction on the rations themselves. We don’t use the FRHs very often especially in training situations. We use a Coleman stove with a pressure cooker, your able to heat your entire sections meals or at least a group of peoples rations all at once. That is at least why I believe we still issue them separately.

@@TheInsomniaddict ....some companies have made replica outer cardboard/paper packaging. Actually putting food into cans requires an extensive financial investment liability wise. The closest you can come are Spam1/2 size cans (tear the label off )and Underwood small round cans of chicken, ham or beef spread. Both type of cans have pull tabs but can be opened with a p38 opener. The crackers are still made by Nabisco but are packaged in plastic wrap, not cellophane. Instant coffee is available in packets. Lemon or orange drink is available in packets. Similar candies and gum are still made, packaging differs 'though. TP and matches can be easily self replicated.

Im in the Canadian military and this is probably one of my favorite imp. Youre right about having the heater bags, they should of incorporate them with the imps but im guessing its a contract issue with two different companies. Sometimes you get issued old dryed out bags that dont heat up properly so youre stuck with eating your imp cold. I always eats my pb&j first while waiting for my main meal to warm up. The dates square is a gamble because they usually gives you the shits so depending where you are it can sucks lol. Most of our IMPs are very very good now, I've tried quite a bit from different countries and they are hard to beat. I like alot if the American ones and its cool that they have skittles and cheese wheezes sometimes. Norway were really good to, you get a 24 hours package and you eat whatever whenever. Cheers

Was just in Canada for military training and they were super eager to trade their cases of IMP’s for our cases of MRE’s. Pizza pasta was my favorite so far, but I didn’t get to try much of the others outside of that one case as they gave us a bunch of the same case. Overall was super impressed and it made the training experience a bit better knowing I didn’t have to deal with the same old MRE’s we are used to. Side note, just about every Canadian we met was extremely welcoming and sociable; definitely enjoyed meeting some of our friends in the north!

Noticed how weird it was that it was called “Reese Sticks” and not “Reese’s Sticks” and went searching. Turns out Hershey’s ditched the name ReeseSticks for the more conventional Reese’s naming convention of “Reese’s Sticks” in 2009, since most people pronounced it that way anyways. Wonder if that means the one in the MRE is 12+ years old or if it just uses left over old stock packaging.

The Canadian forces issue rating cards to the troops with the rations so they can provide feedback. They actively incorporate feedback from soldiers when designing new ones so overall they REALLY put in the effort to make the IMPS good. I think for this reason I would rather be issued IMPs than MREs from the US. Some of my friends deliberately give bad ratings on good ration packs so the MOD doesn't get too complacent and keeps innovating them.
@darkjemdude

@plushie946
@plushie946 10 ай бұрын
@@darkjemdudeTrue, never give the higher-ups room for interpretation. Either everything is good enough or it needs to be completely replaced in their minds. Luckily IMPs are handled by people pretty eager to innovate, they treat it almost like a science. As long as they meet NATO, CAF and Health Canada standards I don't think any of the brass really care or have any involvement. Bureaucracy can sometimes be a benefit if it allows passionate people to find a niche department to work their magic in.

id love to see Steve do a factory visit to maybe one of the factories that put together, or the experimental kitchens that produce these rations, i bet he would be able to make a really interesting upload from it 🤘

You probably get this a lot, but thank you so much for making this videos. I watch them when my mental health takes a tumble, and they're always so therapeutic to me. Nothing like watching you try some rations to cleanse the soul when things get tough. Again, thanks for everything, man!

Videos such as these have helped me stay away from the everyday network broadcast balderdash. Helps lower my blood pressure. Thank you Steve!!!
