What a sensible and balanced review this is. It's great to see someone state that the car isn't for him just yet but give logical reasoning without just dismissing electric vehicles altogether. Personally one of these would work for me without any problems whatsoever. I can charge at home and I can count on one hand the amount of times I drive more than 100 miles in a day per year. All electric future for me.

Everybody wants those gloves! Caterpillar brand (like the heavy equipment), got a pack of 2 at costco for 30 bucks

The reality is that unless you're on a trip you don't need to worry about charging I-PACE throughout the day, simply plug it in when you get home. By morning, the I-PACE will be full again.

This! It is a different ethos with an electric vehicle - you keep it topped up all the time, just like you would with your mobile phone or a laptop. You wouldn't work on laptop power in the office when you can just plug it in and recharge!

3:27 He says it slows down more than normal when you release the accelerator - this must be regen and surely you can turn it off / reduce it if you want. Weird that a car reviewer does not seem to know this or mention it in a review.

I took that to mean that it slows down quicker than a conventional car would. To confirm your point though, you can indeed select the precise level of regen you want with the Jaguar I-PACE.

@@whackablemole Yeah, of course that is what he meant. But he was wrong as you just confirmed. He can turn the regen off if he wants. A car reviewer should know this stuff or at least find out for the review.

Yes, noticed that afterwards! If there's any ice, they don't power close. You just have to press them in yourself or leave em out.

i pay 500.00 pounds road tax on my jag I would have an i pace but here in birmingham uk can not find bloody charger in main towns its joke

Just did a quick look up on Zap Map, it shows every charging station in the UK - looks like there are well over 150 charging stations in and around Birmingham, so not sure why you can't find one - plus the car will tell you where the nearest charging station is - also every BP petrol station will have EV fast chargers within 3-4 years. Hope this helps😊

The only problem I have with this car is that it's not worth $80k+. Jaguar is trying to use performance vs their own gas counterparts to justify the price. This car is only worth $50k at best. They will be forced to drop the price when Polestar lineup hits the street and the Audi E-Tron, MB EQ and Rivian, and the NEW infamous Tesla Model Y.

None of the models you list are made of aluminium and comparable build of aluminium Tesla would be even more expensive. In Canadian winter all them will be rusting buckets of bolts before the useful lifespan of the batteries is up. The TCO of electric car is distributed differently, $50K purchase price for a gas car over 10 years ends up costing more than $80K. The Jag price is justified.

Since there is no engine or transmission there is a lot of extra space. Personally it feels roomier than my full size suv. Blind spots? It has 2 mirrors, 6 cameras and a full glass roof.
