I bought the turbo 4 JL. I'm coming from a V6 JK. The 4 pot is a more powerful engine and more fun to drive. Better launch and torque.

I ask how long they last and how much to replace and I was quoted 350 and the battery last average 3 years. I also got the sky one touch and it doesn’t leak and actually work amazing

I’ve got a 2018 Wrangler Sport S ,2door with this engine.I have put 5700 miles on since new in May.Im getting 25 mpg combined city and highway.i have needed no repairs or adjustments.Regarding the Premium gas requirement the math works out this way.If one drives 15,000 miles per year and uses premium gas at $3.50 the extra dollars equal $354.00 per year approximately.Considering the torque available and the mileage that’s pretty good.The engine is made at the Alfa Romeo Temolino plant near Milan.It is an in line 4cyl.The turbo is made by Honeywell.Change the oil at 5000 with synthetic and the engine should be very durable.Highway mileage note.I got 35 MPG on the flat ATLANTIC City Expressway At 70 mph.Generally I get 30 mpg highway.

@AutoGuide
@AutoGuide 5 жыл бұрын
Yes, the belt-driven motor-generator should be what restarts the engine. As for the turbo, that's a good question, but modern cars usually circulate coolant and oil through their turbochargers when the engine is shut off to keep them from cooking. I wouldn't be too worried about durability.

More than "one reason" to think twice - premium fuel for the 2.0 is going to be a considerable cost for the lifetime of the vehicle. Not necessarily a deal breaker, but something to consider if you think you are saving money with maybe 2 extra MPG. Premium gas in my region is 60 cents more a gallon, $12 bucks more every fill.

No I mean the shift in focus that came with the JK brought in a whole new set of people that just don't really give a shit about Jeep history or culture. People who think the wave is stupid or put a fucking sticker on their mirror so they don't have to do it. Used to go offroading all the time with friends and local Jeep clubs and we would have a blast, help out each other if shit went wrong, do other outdoor activities like kayak and hike. Now it's all the type of people who give no shit about the outdoors or offroading (seems a big trend now to completely remove the spare tire from the back). Or the type of people who throw their beer cans into the river while they are fishing. I grew up around Jeeps and a Jeep was the first vehicle I bought after leaving the military. I just kinda watched the culture crumble over the past twenty years due to a multiple of reasons.

CaptainXJ Yeah, that's true to a large extent but it's not specifically just a Jeep thing in my mind, it's yet another reflection of the overall decline in our culture in the US. Sad but true.

Drove the 2.0L turbo Wrangler Sahara for 5 hrs of Highway driving during heavy cold treacherous winter conditions. I do not advise anyone to buy this vehicle if you do alot or any Highway driving. I have been wanting to purchase a Wrangler Rubicon but I fear the ride will be much the same. I believe the 3.0L is a much better choice and the Eco- diesel even better as I've been driving eco-diesel in the Grand Cherokee since 2014. I understand Jeep re designed the diesel is a great engine but you smell diesel fumes right through the cab dangerous for your health. It's that bad. Jeep had lots of work to do if they are going to continue with diesel. I have a Blu tec Mercedes diesel it's odorless and seamless doesn't sound like a tractor... Stay away from the 2.0 L Wrangler Sahara..10 years of Jeep experience.. FYI

This car is an absolute junk heap. I purchased a 2021 Sahara with eTorgue and had a complete electrical failure after just 16 months and less than 30k mikes. The car is dead. $6000 to replace batteries and my dealership voided the warranty because (get this) I got an oil change at a non-Jeep mechanic. Never again!!
