Great video, Mark. I’ve had the ZZR1400 (ZX14 here in Canada), the K1600GT in this class of bike. They’ve both been amazing bikes. Picked up the H2SXSE last year and love it. 2 years ago I went to buy an H2 SX but having firstly sat on it (finding it ridiculously small) then spent a good half an hour talking to a guy who arrived at the same time to SELL his 6 month old H2 SX ("too small, not as comfy as my old ZZR1400...) I decided it wasn't for me. I left with a brand new ZZR1400 which I still own and have absolutely no regrets over my decision....

Turbos are more efficient, because using the exhaust gas to spin them up doesn't incur parasitic loss like a chain/belt/gear drive for a supercharger does. However a supercharger has better throttle response.

Hi Mark, from South Africa. I owned one for a few months, but had to sell it after a few months. One of the biggest issues was the pillion seat. My wife tried twice, but as a supposedly sport tourer, it sure was uncomfortable. The riding position also a little to much front lean. The other problem is the heat generated near the right hand side foot peg. It gets so bad after a 150km, especially when it's a nice hot day, you have to stop. I traded it for a k1600bagger, and have not missed this bike since. Kawasaki should not call it a sport "tourer".

@bikerfan65544 жыл бұрын
Correct Zunaid, it is not a sports tourer, I have had my ecu flashed and this bike kills a zx14 now, the pillion seat is so the insurance can be less as it is a tourer and not a sports bike, but I will never put a pillion on my bike as it is far too wild, I have had 3 zx 14 and this is by far the best, it is very heavy on fuel though, best thing I ever did to buy this bike, thank you for a good review Mark

Thanks for the great review! I sat on one of these last week, and I was very tempted to pull out my checkbook on the spot (without even a test ride). Unfortunately, my wife was with me and we had just spent a small fortune on new riding gear for her. I've been showing her pictures of that beautiful emerald green machine since then (the plus is beautiful too). Our son's birthstone is Emerald, and she loves that color as do I. (My daughter's birthstone is Sapphire, and my wife's is Diamond so I have a very expensive little family gift "cycle", as you can imagine.) I think she is going to make me sell my FJR1300ES, or my K1600GT (sorry, not going to happen), or maybe one of my sports cars, if I want to add this to the stable. Six axis imu lol with two hundred bhp for the streets and then they choke it back with all of this unnecessary kit cause they know you'll never use on the streets. Another nice review Mark but like so many others you miss out the fundamentals. Prospective owners need to know real world fuel consumption, subsequent tank range, service intervals etc. etc. For instance, I chose a KTM Super Duke GT primarily because of it's 45+mpg, 200+ mile range and 9,200 mile service intervals. The Kawasaki's, although lovely bikes have ridiculously short service intervals.

Hi Mick ,The Kawasaki's now have very good service intervals at 7500 miles ,I did mention that at the start of the video,mpg showed up as 47 mpg on the dash on the test ride which is good for a bike with this much power but it all depends on how you ride as you probably know ,I would expect high 30s if you're really moving ,hope that helps all the best mark

Thanks ,I use a chin mount now in all my recent videos All the best mark

I don't know anyone who will do 500 miles with the seat that Kawasaki put on there.Great for a bit,then comes the reality.Sargeant seats will correct this nicely.

Is not more efficient than a turbo. Superchargers take horsepower to run so they rob horsepower. Turbos offer almost free power.

I always see these bikes as the two-wheeled equivalent of a hot-hatch car (albeit a seriously "HOT" hot-hatch)... Sure, they're fun, but deep down you know you wanted the Bentley Continental...sure, it's a tad slower getting to its limited 186mph, but other than that it's better in almost every way, and worse still, every other car is another generic 'hot-hatch', whereas you don't see too many Bentley Continentals... ...Therefore for me it has to be its brother, the mighty ZZR1400....

Those rims.... i wanna take 'em off and go to bed with them😍 the same cannot be said for that cannon of an exhaust though, i mean i get the european regulation and all that but come on...

Very distracting having that piece of poop or something nasty looking on the pavement next to the bike.

Good review. I'm sure it is a very capable missile of a bike, but it is fugly from the front! It makes the Hayabusa look like a young Brigitte Bardot and that is saying something! Nearly as ugly as an MT-10. Not for me.
