I'm on my 4th Lexus ES and currently drive a 2019 ES300H. It is, by far, not only the best Lexus I've owned but also the best car I've owned...period. As for the power, it has three modes, two of which are like rockets (especially Sport). Plenty of power when you need it. As for those of you who have a need for speed...go ahead and rack up your traffic tickets and notice me laughing as I go by the gas station and see you filling up 2-3 times more frequently than I do.

I was going to get a 2016 es300H this week. Do you think I should wait a year or two until the 2019’s get cheaper? Are they that much better? I can get a 2016 for only 26K with 30k miles
@billmogolov27525 жыл бұрын
Hi Frank....I'm not familiar with the 2016 ES300h but just looked it up and read some reviews. The mpg rating looks very good and it seems to have been reviewed favorably. If you were all set to go with it, I would say "go with it". A lot of things can happen in a year or two if you wait. If you wait a year or two, its possible the 2020 and 2021 models will be so enticing that you'll wait another year or two to buy one of those. Then, you'll be waiting even longer. If the price of the 2016 seems reasonable and you like the car, buy it. I don't think you'll regret it. And with the unpredictability of gas prices, you'll love it even more. Let me know how it works out.@@frankdux3605

You get to 60 in 9 seconds..... I'm not sure where this extra power is? an the average car does 0-60 in 8 seconds on the road and most 2L diesel do sub 8 seconds with the same economy, so I'm not entirely sure what you're laughing at. For such an expensive car you would expect much better performance. The only thing it has going for it is reliability. Also what a silly notion to assume people who drive cars more powerful than a ES 300H, which is most on the road! is more likely to get speeding tickets, you don't speed because of accelerating to quickly, you get tickets for driving over the speed limit which the Lexus is more than capable of doing.
@mills33755 жыл бұрын
I am never a fan of CVT gearboxes but for some reason it suits this car very well. When buying a hybrid your not getting it for the sound so a CVT not only improves fuel efficiency but accelerates quite quickly due to the engine rev immediately and giving max torque. Also helps that Lexus hasn’t but stupid fake shifting noises in the car.
@MrTimjin5 жыл бұрын

Dont be fooled by 0-100 times. It gets faster after 100 and easily reaches its top speed. Also, in town its surprisingly peppy off the line with a help of Electric motor. It also a nice place to be, comfortable, looks great outside and will outlast anyone from Germany.

@90boiler5 жыл бұрын
This is great car - spacious and fast enough for city speeds, especially from standing point. It has great looks, big trunk and also very relaxing ride. Yes, cvt interrupts hard acceleration but still - it is a good car to drive. Not sure if you need F-Sport, the larger wheels are not that good for smooth ride, better go for stock suspension and add some comfort options like heated steering wheel or ventilated seats.

Wish Lexus would put more thought into these cars. They really need to offer more performance and bigger trunk with drop down rear seats.
@anyghost3 жыл бұрын
They DID put thought into the cars. They designed THIS car to be optimized for a smooth, quiet, and refined ride. The rear seats don't fold down because they chose to pursue maximum body rigidity over cargo capacity so the car feels stable and planted over rough roads and around corners. If you want more power and folding rear seats and are willing to sacrifice comfort, interior cabin noise and ride quality, then just get a Camry TRD. I wanna get a 300h cause I could give less than a shit about power and cargo capacity and just want an isolating, relaxing, quiet, comfy, smooth ride with an awesome sound system. There's something for everyone, really.
@jamiea83182 жыл бұрын
I think people overestimate their need for performance. How often are you even going flat out on the accelerator in a daily driver? When you do, is it ever too slow for practical use? If you’re looking for entertainment in that regard, go buy a performance car and go to a track.
@supersurfer12 жыл бұрын
@@jamiea8318 actually that's a poor example. It's like saying why one needs a powerful stereo system but it's not for the volume it's for the quality at low volume same goes for a good car. When we compare these lexus to European cars they feel less in every way. You know that feeling of confidence in everything. So it's not about race tracks it's about doing what a car should do in an excellent way. The Lexus just don't cut it but compare to a Volvo then they may do.
