I am a Nissan Rogue 2018 SL Plat owner. My comments are from an owners perspective. I almost felt like the car reviewer does not understand the concept of value for money. Very negative review of a car loaded with tech packages, and enormous space for its discounted price point. I am 6 foot tall, and never complained of spacing issue in the driving area, and I can go awn and awn about other issues the reviewer cites. All her complaints are NOT DEAL BREAKER Buttons: Yup, it might take some time (probably couple of days) to get to know which button stays where and after that I haven’t had any issues, not a major point to complain. NOT A DEAL BREAKER Steering wheel leather wrap: I really don’t know what she is talking about. It’s very soft to touch, and nice to drive. DEFINITELY, NOT A DEAL BREAKER Engine: Yes, it lacks power and noisy when you really wanna rev up your engine. Otherwise once your reach 65-70 which you would in couple of minutes from stop, it glides smoothly. But, I get great gas mileage of about 30 mpg on highways. NOT A DEAL BREAKER for me.

Maheshwar Muralidharan From reading and watching “professional” journalist reviews on the Rogue, it’s very evident that it’s almost a requirement for them to write/report negatively on this vehicle. In my job, I drive a lot of different vehicles including the Rogue, Rav4, Edge, Escape, Mazda 5 and I’ve yet to experience anything negative about the Rogue. It’s has comfortable front seating and roomy rear seats; lots of safety features which cost lots more on other comparable brands and has great storage. Yes, the engine can get a little noisy when accelerating hard but how often does that happen? This is a family hauler, not a Mustang. I think the fact that this particular reviewer found that pulling down the rear seat cup holder was a negative speaks volumes on her lack of professionalism and her very lame attempts to join her fellow journalists in the Rogue Bashers Club For Idiots.

Great comment, there's a lot of value in this SUV, if you don't want a race car. My car has a big pillar too, a pain but lots of cars have this. I'm looking at the SV trim myself.

Very unfair comment on this vehicle from the perspective of an owner of the 2019 SV Sunroof package, which has a long list of features and technologies you don't find in a similarly priced vehicle. Yes, everyone agrees the engine is slow on this vehicle, but it's not that terrible when you get used to it. Originally, I don't like the Eco mode at all, because it feels slower than the other modes. But I find it gives you a very smooth ride once you reach 60, 70, or above. And it gives you a superb 35+ highway MPG on AWD. So I'm now hooked to it. To me, the lack of impressive driving characteristic seems to be all due to how the transmission is programmed to save you the gasoline money. I didn't have a chance to compare the ride quality with other competitors, but I find this is the best vehicle I own that doesn't make me feel sleepy or tired after long driving time, and the reason for me to switch to Nissan is simply years of driving fatigue from the two Toyotas I own. Also, I don't understand why people are criticizing its steering wheel that I find so easy to maneuver and control, especially in the parking lot.

Dang, you people are pretty ignorant. She doesn't give the Rogue a great review because it doesn't rise to the level of the Mazda CX-5 or Honda CR-V. Those crossovers are the standards in this segment. Although the Rogue is a very good car, it falls short of the competition. She's a pro and has driven and tested wayyyyy more cars than anyone in the comment section. Give her a break. You have little room to talk.

I do agree that the Rogue is in serious need of a major redesign. However, it does include a lot of features for the money. It hits most if not all of the current array of safety features. Peoples taste in car design and features is so variable that no one could satisfy everyone. It really gets down to what you want in a car and how much you're willing to pay for it.

I am an owner of the 2019 Nissan Rogue S AWD. I had it for nearly a year now and have put more than 40,000 miles on it. I spend a lot of time in it, commuting to and from work and traveling south to visit family. It is undeniably smooth no matter what speed you go. I can hit most of the buttons without looking and the steering wheel has a nice feel. Not sure what the journalist was thinking. I love the technology in it for the price I paid. Im surprised at it's integration of your phone to the car. Yes, the engine is noisy when you rev it and yes it is underpowered. But I actually prefer that. I want to hear the engine, I'd rather a less powerful car which keeps the speed demon in me asleep and from doing something stupid. It's a comfortable ride going long distances. It has impressive cargo space. I've recently purchased two mountain bikes, lowered the rear seats and put them in and closed the trunk with little trouble. I barely fit a Hotwheels car bed (couldn't close the trunk) and got it home after some assistance. It has its limitations but I have underestimated it. It's a reliable vehicle and very forgiving, especially on wear and tear. I haven't gotten to test it's true ability in the winter during a snow storm since where I live it surprisingly didn't snow much last season. Gas mileage is very good, handling is responsive. Since I have the base model, I can't attest for the higher functions it's capable of. All in all its a car made to last.

I am a taller passenger and I don't have the issue she said. The plastic does feel good and not look plastic-y, so I don't understand the complaint. It's not a Toyota which looks and feels like plastic. "You have to remember where things are." Yes, of course you do. Every manufacturer has a general additional controls cluster in that location to the side of the steering wheel. The heated seat button is located - surprisingly - next to the seat belt! Go figure... Solid SUV. Give it a test drive. Don't take this reviewer seriously. She doesn't even know what the terms are...

What a horrid review of a great car! I knew you folks at Edmunds were biased. But to throw shade on a car loaded with great features for a fraction of what the competitors charge, is too much to overlook. Maybe you could try getting someone who’s driven the car and acclimated to how Nissan’s are laid out, instead of someone who doesn’t seem to know a thing about cars. Just a suggestion.

Honda sterling reputation is having issues with their engines and batteries stranding motorists, we bought a Hyundai Santa Fe sport and every commercial brags about 100k 10 year warranty, we had issues with the drivers seat bottom cushion and after dealing with our local dealer and corporate Hyundai they told us it was our fault that the seat was damaged, they say it is because of velcro in the back pockets, we love the SUV, but that incident has put a bad taste in our mouth and now want to get rid of it, the dealership said that the 2019 is not using that fabric anymore and to trade it in, we will but it won't be a Hyundai.

It's Funny, but for all of this woman's negative comments, the Rogue was the 2'nd best seller over 412k in this segment last year. Her Stellar cars: Honda CRV did 379k and has some oil issues with its 1.5 turbo, Mazda CX5 sold a whopping 150k and offers a more cramped interior and Jeep Wrangler which sold 240k. Many people must have liked this car by driving the Rogue, and the deal they got. Drive this car, drive the competition and see which works best for you. There might be some redeeming traits that caused over 400,000 people to pick this car last year.

I didn’t know this spot that says comments was to rip apart the comments of viewers who you are still lucky to have. I swore by EDMUNDS 25 years ago. But Edmunds has really lost their way. I see the struggle to keep trying to catch up using humor that don’t work. And putting actors in from of the reviewed items as if your personal opinions matter. It’s Our opinion that matters, and it’s your duty to present the vehicles. Not act like brain dead spoiled brats. Sure you want to stick up for each other. Although the Rogue is typically classified as a "compact" or "small" SUV, that's really a "stretch." (Pun intended.) As 185" long the Rogue, along with the VW Tiguan, is about a half foot longer than the Mazda CX-5 and three to five inches longer than almost every other compact SUV. So it's not surprising that it offers relatively generous cargo space. Ironically, though, the Honda CR-V offers even more overall cargo space at 180.6" in length. Apart from an interior that makes a good initial impression, at least in the upper SL trim, the Rogue doesn't offer much in terms of innovative or appealing features. But it's that appealing appearance along with substantial discounts off MSRP in real world pricing that makes the Rogue Nissan's best selling model even with a relatively sluggish engine and a CVT that gives CVT's a bad name. It's a sales strategy that Nissan follows throughout its product line. One of the innovative features the Rogue does offer was highlighted in the video; the underfloor storage in behind the second row of seats. The Rogue isn't alone in offering that feature and it's useful in some circumstances. But it's almost never noted by reviewers that the underfloor storage can be accessed only if the floor over it is empty. Otherwise, whatever is on the cargo floor has to be removed to get at the underfloor storage space. And unless there is some reason to conceal items without using a cargo cover, it's unclear why it would be used at all.

I still don't understand how Rogue gets the CUV category by some. It's a smaller SUV for sure. It's not a crossover. Perhaps a Qashqai/Rogue Sport (depending on where you are) would be, but that's a whole different car at that point.
@secordman
@secordman 5 жыл бұрын
It competes more with the new Santa Fe; larger than the compact SUV's but smaller than the 3 row Santa Fe XL, Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander group. The divide-and-hide is very versatile though, I would like that.
@stephenhendricks103
@stephenhendricks103 5 жыл бұрын
@@shawnmayo4941 Traditionally CUV's are defined as vehicles that utilize a unibody architecture typical of (and usually identical to) sedans while purists claim a true SUV is a body-on-frame vehicle built on a truck platform. As the number of "true" SUV's has declined over the years, the term has come to be applied more broadly but the Rogue remains a true CUV. Nissan's now departed Xterra was a body-on-frame vehicle and Nissan may re-introduce a smaller truck based SUV in the future in the US but no such vehicle is currently sold in the US.
@stephenhendricks103
@stephenhendricks103 5 жыл бұрын
@@secordman You're correct that the current Santa Fe at 188" long falls in a "tweener" category of SUV's, smaller than vehicles like the Pilot, Ascent, Telluride, CX-9, the (now departed) Santa Fe XL, etc. As such, it's comparable in size to the Kia Sorento, the Ford Edge, the Honda Passport, the Subaru Outback, Nissan Murano, and Jeep Grand Cherokee, among others. The Rogue and Tiguan are outliers between most compact SUV's and vehicles in the Tweener category but the lines between these categories aren't carved in granite; they're more clearly identifiable in terms of which vehicles consumers cross shop. And on that score the Rogue and Tiguan are probably best thought to be the largest compact crossovers and the Santa Fe the smallest "Tweener."

On the highway it was awesome and tracked so straight down the road it made a great road tripper (much better than my top of line turbo Hyundai Sonota). I remember when Edmunds was a good review site.....If this chick thinks you can get a similarly equipped Wrangler she's out of her mind. I just purchased an end of model year 2019 SV Rogue with every option except the sunroof, a dealer installed 2" lift kit, and a Thule luggage rack, and KMC Wheels with Toyo Open Country tires for $30k with extended warranty, GAP coverage and life time key fob and car battery replacement. The performance is adequate, a cat-back exhaust and CAI will give it a little more juice if I want it later on without voiding the warranty. Also, the QR25DE has been always been considered one of the better sounding 4 cylinders on the market, so I'm just going chalk this review up to a bias on the reviewer's part.

Is this a car review or an audition for SNL? Sure, there's plenty of snarky humor here (or at least an admirable attempt at it), but it's an awful car review. Tip: When you review an automobile, you're doing it for the general public, not your own quirky idiosyncrasies. There's not much headroom? Duh! The Rogue is class leading in headroom. She doesn't like the leather-wrapped steering wheel? What would she prefer...wool? She thinks the controls are "all over the place" and would like to see all of the climate controls in the same place. Again, THEY ARE! As a passenger in a big family, it’s a nice car but I much prefer the crappy 15 years older van we used to have. I have scoliosis and can’t recline. My dad sits in front of me giving me no leg room and pissing me off the whole car ride. Whenever I get pissed I quietly mumble which pisses everyone else off in the car. Overall, not worth it. It’s a trap of a car.

i like the presenter, she makes the review fun. I have never been in a Rogue, but I am considering buying a used one. I dont understand why people are taking someone's opinion so personal. She probably drives each car in that class for week and forms an opinion based on that week. If you have been driving this car for a year, got a great deal, taller/shorter, heavier/thinner than her, or havent driven in every car in the same class your opinion is going to be different. For instance based on my name Nissan isnt my goto brand, but for the price I may be able to buy a 2019 Rogue sport aws it is very high on my list

I had a Rogue and the review is pretty close. In a value package its really good. Spacious, comfy seats, great gas mileage and it was a good price. However, its slow, interior is lacking, and there were issues with blind spots. Its a car that needs an interior redesign and engine upgrades to be more on par with its competition.

Edmunds I’m disappointed with, you this is the worst review ever, defamatory and exaggerated, this seems to be payed by another car brand. Is not that this review is awful is just that is terrible and you can find a lot better reviews about this vehicle with precise information and without being defamatory. Guys this vehicle is awesome, is not a sport car but is so comfortable, with a good technology, value and more important reliability, this vehicle have a good reliability and better rated than a CR-V or a Subaru Forester.

Had the SV AWD as a rental when my car was in the shop. I'm sooooo glad to be back in my car. This Rouge drives like crap. The engine sounds like you should be rocketing down the road, yet you'll only be going like 40 MPH. The throttle response SUCKS ! If you step on the gas, then quickly release, and then back on it, the car just stalls for 2 seconds. WTF is that about ?! The blindspot monitor lights are on the INSIDE of the car, so you have to look at an additional place before you lane change. Now that I'm back in my Accord Coupe V6, it feels like it upgraded from a sporty car to a sports car.

Hahaha this review is ridiculous... the steering wheel feels like a steering wheel... I am 6'2'' and 275 lbs... the car is roomy as hell, plus my Brother is 5'10'' ans 225 and sits behind me for 8 hours on the way to Southern Idaho once a month. I detect ZERO blindspots when driving, visibility is awesome. The camera is by the camera? Crazy... heated seats are by the seats..? No way.... this is joke review

Small screen surrounded by big knobs and plastic buttons that belong in a kitchen stove, engine that sounds like a leaf blower, lots of road noise, dated furniture inside the cabin including dated looking gauges, and unreliable. I’ve said once and I’ll say it again, Nissan is the Chrysler of Japanese cars.

If you hate driving and want to be slow when arriving to your destination with a loud CVT whine, the Rogue is for you. Cheaply built and unreliable. I'll pass. Elana's take on this is perfect. Could not have said it better myself. It needs a full redesign. Only reason these sell because of fleets and all the cash Nissan gives you to just take one

You're right......the rest of us that have rated this vehicle over it's lifespan at 4.5 out of 5 rating must be wrong. Is it the fastest? No. Is it Bentley quite? No. Am I a big baby who thinks that my CUV should handle and accelerate like my 2006 GTO? No. Is it comfortable, spacious, have enough power to play around with, and have more features at $8-10k less than the more modern yet less attractive (sans CX5) competition? Yes.

😂 u started off good by not mentioning the competitor names , as for the cx5 this reminds of a pretty chic without substance. As 4 the crv, there currently have issues with that great turbo engine. Meen while no mention of Ravee which is the Leader n segment sells. 😏 O and 1 other thing, what about the rest of the suv's n this class HELLOOOOOOO.
