Harry: The previous much more beautiful generation are selling for $35,000 used. This generation is not selling - people don't like the styling, inside or out. The dash is a galloping disaster...it looks like a Camaro. The AMG is certainly a plus for reliability, but it does seem to fart a lot.

@Beer_Dad19754 жыл бұрын
Except AMG engines aren't reliable anymore - most that they have made this century has had multiple fatal failure points that can grenade the engine if not attended to before the fact. The fact that this is a Hot-V, which is done mostly for fuel economy and emissions reasons - is a red-light to start off with - its a design that leads to premature failure of turbos and turbo components, and on top of that a lot of the ducting in the hot-v is plastic, which deteriorates faster the more it is heated and cooled. These cars will depreciate like stones.

@OneAboveAll The Vantage S V12 Roadster has a 6.0 L V12 naturally aspirated engine, meaning no turbos. Being N/A it sounds a lot better, it is freer revving, it is way more involving, it has far better throttle response and it has more power in relation to how much you move your right foot on the accelerator (more in tune with your inputs, no turbo spool up delays). As a direct result of all the above, it is much more fun than a turbo engine in my book.

The windows would be the deal killer for me. Because the doors rise upwards when they open outwards, the windows have to roll down slightly in order to open or close the doors. This happens automatically. Here in the northeastern part of the US and in other colder wintery climates, car windows routinely freeze up during the winters. So the automatic windows attempt to roll down the windows but can’t because the window is frozen, the worm gear breaks, and the window shatters against the door frame. Great engineering there, Aston!

The front end view and the outer rear lights reminds of a Mazda MX-5.

This car illustrates why Aston are bancrupt and every reason why they should vanish without any vantage.

I'm a bit puzzled with Aston of late, grew up loving them, watching James Bond and all that, but there hasn't been a new Aston I've really desired for ages - I think the last one I really liked was the DB-S, which came out about 12 years ago.

It sounds a bit uncivilised for an Aston the rear end looks messy and the air vent shape and switch arrangement is pretty grim. Expensive and flawed .Harry’s right!

A wide bonnet means no fender to lean on and dent with elbows or tools servicing. A paintless dent repair technician told me about his many repairs atop fenders.

So a real AMG engine is handmade by a Helmut Schmetzer, and an Aston one is just given a look, by a Jordan Haynes....?

Thank you for the video Harry, big fan of your channel. I feel that the dials should be addressed as they look out of place in an Aston Martin. One expects a more exquisite dial layout than what is presented.

The rear end locks worse as it gets further away, how have they managed that.

Man, that sound is intoxicating. Love it.

Imagine spending this kind of money on a Ferrari only to find that it has a Renault engine under the bonnet. Or shelling out on 911 turbo S only to find a Toyota engine under the bonnet. The customers in this league buy into the brand as well as the capabilities of the car. They would hope to get a full on Aston experience which includes a characterful engine that hasn't been rebadged from another manufacturer.

Yes, but on the plus side, at least it will be reliable.

I can't take you seriously if you're comparing a Mercedes to Toyota. Just no point in reading further.

Nice video Harry - now watch Doug DeMuro’s review - completely different style yet both are very enjoyable and informative.

I spotted a black Aston Martin wheel during the film of Richard Hammond and the 550 thank for scratching my itch.

Didn't expect to say this, but I prefer the original Vulcan-style grille over the new slatted one. Trying to stretch the slatted grille over the proportions of the existing Vantage front end leaves it looking like one of those fish that clean the sides of the tank. They should've just taken the Revenant front end and replaced both grilles with it.
