I just bought this car, it is not small at all inside, great head room, the back comfy seats my 2 large Shepherds without being crowded. I had the green car jazzed up with black accents such as handles, side mirrors, grill, the venue sign in back, powder coated rims and tinted windows. I also added rain guards and a wind guard for the moon roof. I can pretty much drive the car hands free on the highway, very responsive but keep your guard up in case there is a break in the stripes on the road, then it kicks off. Pick up is just fine, the car rides very smooth even at 70 MpH, turning radius is small, great for U-turns and parking. All together with tax, etc it was $25k. Great car for the price, and fun to drive. Gas mileage is fantastic, I get between 38-40 miles per gallon. 10 Gallon tank costs 20 bucks to fill in my area. This is my first foreign car I bought because I didn't want to spend a bundle, This is def a "chick" car and I'm loving it.

Over all those cars I actually prefer driving this over all of them now. I have had it going on 5 years now with zero problems. The features on it are great, I don't have people pulling up to me wanting to race and I don't have to worry about the cops pulling me over because i have a lead foot driving a sports car. The rear doesn't have the same versatility that Honda's Magic Seat system has, but otherwise, I think it's a better package for the class than the HR-V. I do think this would benefit from an AWD option down the road, but the HR-V's AWD is so horrendous and the stock tires are so miserable that it doesn't make a difference in inclement weather anyway.

It lets you start, lock and unlock the car, turn on the lights, etc. It will also track kilometres, fuel levels, etc. The downside is it’s super, super slow. To remote start my car takes literally 2-3 minutes, and you have to keep the screen on the entire time. Also, the remote start times out at 10 minutes, and that’s not really long enough to heat up your car in the winter, especially with the auto climate control, so it’s not blasting hot air right away. Overall, I’m glad it’s there, and I like that it’s free, and I didn’t have to get a remote starter installed, but I wouldn’t say it’s a great system.

Good job on the STI. All millennials that care about cars, should buy the 'spirited' cars. This is the only way we will convince manufacturers to keep making the good stuff.

As for app-based controllers, I have Volvo OnCall with my XC40. I do use the remote start feature to warm it up for a few minutes in our current frigid temperatures. Activates heat, defrost, heated seat and steering wheel.

I bought a 22 Venue. One it was cheap. Two I needed a car right away, it was the only new car available. It's the SE. After 4 months I'm starting to like it. 38 mpg around town. 38 mpg highway cruising at 80 mph. Yes I take the venue on road trips. I'm 74.

Hey Yuri and Jakub, I'm the random guy in the RAV4 that waved at ya'll when you were driving this car by the lake. So wild that I ran into you guys. My girlfriend's actually pretty interested in this car and we were taking a look at it at our local Hyundai Dealer the day before I spotted you guys.

There must be something in the water because this looks like a Kia Soul to me. Oh, that's funny, Kia and Hyundai are friends with benefits and share everything. I had to watch the entire video to confirm... Not ONE mention of the Kia Soul. Am I insane?

I wish Mazda continue to make the 5, because it was my favorite rental car (besides the Kia Soul) to road trip and moved people belongings. I drove from Charlotte, NC to San Diego, CA, to Jacksonville, FL, and back to Charlotte, NC. 🙂

For city life, the higher ground clearance eliminates scrapes to the suspension and underbody parts on potholes, cracked uneven sunken roads, and construction metal plates. This reduces the frequency of needing alignment and repainting the underbody to prevent rust. The higher sight line allows longer range visibility, earlier visibility over a hill, visibility through your left and right adjacent cars, so you can see if there is another hidden car/pedestrian behind them, which increases safety and the driver's planning time. This also allows earlier visual detection of uniformed persons in vehicles with lights and megaphones in the same fashion. The higher seats require less hip range of motion to enter. The higher roof decreases the risk of head injury upon entering the vehicle. The benefits and cost savings far exceed the few dollars you save from a sedan's mpg. One damage to the car, injury to the driver, or one ticket exceeds your sedan mpg savings.

I have a 2012 Sonata with Blulink and I don't know how I lived without it I can start my car when I end my shift and by the time I'm down stairs in the parking garage its nice and warm. If I forget my keys I can use my phone to open it up, pop the trunk, etc and it even sends me alerts if the alarm is set off.

Handy video. I was very interested in this Venue thing but clearly, it's underpowered and appears to be more about looks over substance. I'm starting to feel the same about the Kona as well. I might actually go with the Hyundai Elantra GT (hatch). Not as cool looking as the Venue or Kona but in terms of functionality (and likely comfort and quiet ride) - BETTER. Thanks guys!

As a millennial I would much rather have the veloster. It's far more stylish and a more enjoyable car to drive. There is an argument to be made this this is a more practical vehicle but if you want practical the kia soul gets you four doors and lots of cargo space without looking like iso standard generic small suv. This car screams old person car. Edit: this is from somebody who currently owns a hyundai econo box (2011 elantra gt touring) and who will probably go back to hyundai/kia for their next car

I had 6 months of free BlueLink on my 2017 Elantra. It was nice because I got the car in the winter, and my parking was nearly a mile away from my dorm room, so I could walk down and be cold but have a warm car waiting for me with the remote start. I think it had controls to turn on the defrosters, too, so brushing snow off it was easier once I got to the car. It’s an awfully expensive subscription service, though, so I didn’t renew it after my trial. I guess it might make a bigger difference on the new Sonata with its summon feature.
