It happened with the Kia Soul, so I don't see why it wouldn't also happen with this new Hyundai Venue. It's affordable and cheap to run. It's easy to get in and out of with good outward visibility. The 60+ crowd is going to love this. They're smart.

I just bought this car, it is not small at all inside, great head room, the back comfy seats my 2 large Shepherds without being crowded. I had the green car jazzed up with black accents such as handles, side mirrors, grill, the venue sign in back, powder coated rims and tinted windows. I also added rain guards and a wind guard for the moon roof. I can pretty much drive the car hands free on the highway, very responsive but keep your guard up in case there is a break in the stripes on the road, then it kicks off. Pick up is just fine, the car rides very smooth even at 70 MpH, turning radius is small, great for U-turns and parking. All together with tax, etc it was $25k. Great car for the price, and fun to drive. Gas mileage is fantastic, I get between 38-40 miles per gallon. 10 Gallon tank costs 20 bucks to fill in my area. This is my first foreign car I bought because I didn't want to spend a bundle, This is def a "chick" car and I'm loving it.

In a civic, it is difficult to pass food from the drive through window! The car is so low that passing food, especially drinks/“hot” coffee, down from the drive through window to civic is awkward and accident prone! Also for Older people with “back problems”, getting into the low civic is harder. Sitting more upright in a SUV is way more comfortable for old people.

Hey guys! I drive a 2018 Hyundai Kona Ultimate and I use the bluelink everyday. I only turn on the ignition with the start/stop button if I forget to use bluelink or my hands are too full to use my phone. I absolutely love it. I can select how long the engine runs, climate control, defroster, heated mirrors etc. I also love the fact that I get a text as soon as the command goes through. If I can't remember locking the car I can just lock it from the app. It's the best! Thank you guys for all the great content. You are the best in the business 👍🏼 👍🏼 👍🏼

The Pontiac Vibe set the standard that the Venue and others follow. Small, reliable, and low cost doesn't have to come with a trunk. With the average new vehicle sale now over 35k USD Hyundai deserves credit for a strong vehicle lineup south of that. AND a ten year powertrain warranty that's overlooked in reviews.

I have BlueLink. I use it sometimes, mostly in the winter for remote start. The good thing is I got five years of free service with my new Tucson that I bought last year. It lets you start, lock and unlock the car, turn on the lights, etc. It will also track kilometres, fuel levels, etc. The downside is it’s super, super slow. To remote start my car takes literally 2-3 minutes, and you have to keep the screen on the entire time. Also, the remote start times out at 10 minutes, and that’s not really long enough to heat up your car in the winter, especially with the auto climate control, so it’s not blasting hot air right away. Overall, I’m glad it’s there, and I like that it’s free, and I didn’t have to get a remote starter installed, but I wouldn’t say it’s a great system.

It’s awesome to have, especially when it’s cold out and the fact that I park far away from where I work, so a key fob remote starter would be out of range, plus you can set the temperature, turn on the heated steering wheel and turn on the front and rear defroster from the app. The only two annoying things are that the lights flash continuously until you get in and the app is pretty slow. Guys, love your reviews! In regards to clearance, I live in Saskatchewan and with snow and infrequent road plowing, clearance is definitely an issue. Newer cars are definitely lower to the ground than older ones and although I agree that the Civic is great and meets most needs, I could end up being stranded because of ice ruts and snow. We bought an HRV but even it was closer to the ground than I would prefer. I think it's the gas mileage that is causing cars to be lower. We rented a Seat Arona RS in Europe two summers ago and it was a great car! lots of clearance, 1.4L turbo ... would meet the needs of most people in Canada. Nothing even close to that is on the market. Even Subaru's are close to the ground unless you go with the Crosstrek or Outback.

I had 6 months of free BlueLink on my 2017 Elantra. It was nice because I got the car in the winter, and my parking was nearly a mile away from my dorm room, so I could walk down and be cold but have a warm car waiting for me with the remote start. I think it had controls to turn on the defrosters, too, so brushing snow off it was easier once I got to the car. It’s an awfully expensive subscription service, though, so I didn’t renew it after my trial. I guess it might make a bigger difference on the new Sonata with its summon feature.

In reference to your question about phone connectivity to your car, I have a Honda Accord with HondaLink with a phone app to start/stop the car, lock/unlock, etc. Before that I had a GM with OnStar and the same features. I love it. The car can be cool or warm a lot longer than starting it with just the fob because I can be much further away from the car when starting. And if I have cold food or my dog in the car I can use my phone to restart the car after the timer runs out if I’m in a store or whatever.

Hyundai BlueLink is a really great feature. I have it on my 2019 Sonata 2.0t and love it. I do sometimes miss the remote start button on the key fob but all other features are excellent. Above all, the First 3 years are free with Full Features, NOT Limited to basic features like others and for limited time. And its only $200 per year after that which is very reasonable and competitive.

SUBSCRIBED! I just stumbled across you guys and love the reviews! love the visor test!!! I do it everytime I get in a car I never been in (I also check to see if the glove box can be locked and if they have a glove box light. A lot of NEW cars do not have them) The bluelink system is alright. At times, it does not register because of low satellite signals which doesn't make sense. Also, everytime you turn it on through it, the hazard lights flash, which is understandable, but is annoying and tacky.

For city life, the higher ground clearance eliminates scrapes to the suspension and underbody parts on potholes, cracked uneven sunken roads, and construction metal plates. This reduces the frequency of needing alignment and repainting the underbody to prevent rust. The higher sight line allows longer range visibility, earlier visibility over a hill, visibility through your left and right adjacent cars, so you can see if there is another hidden car/pedestrian behind them, which increases safety and the driver's planning time. This also allows earlier visual detection of uniformed persons in vehicles with lights and megaphones in the same fashion. The higher seats require less hip range of motion to enter. The higher roof decreases the risk of head injury upon entering the vehicle. The benefits and cost savings far exceed the few dollars you save from a sedan's mpg. One damage to the car, injury to the driver, or one ticket exceeds your sedan mpg savings.

Cool review. Nice to see every-day-vehicles again :) I think that it'll fit Millennial buyers who tend to have pets and have a leisure/active lifestyle. I have noticed that several of the people over 50 that I know have purchased KIA Souls, so I don't disagree that they may also gravitate towards this vehicle. As for the color patterns, I noticed that different roof color in the 2019 KIA Soul last year when it came out, so I'm thinking that's a design feature for KIA/Hyundai vehicles.

Can choose how long car idles for and what temperature and vents the air comes from. Also turns on heated steering wheel, heated side mirrors and rear defroster for back window. Can also find ur car if u forgot where u parked and get monthly diagnostics and vehicle use sent to you.

@@JM-nz8gw So even with California traffic going relatively slow I felt like it was underpowered for it's size and the transmission was constantly searching for the right gear. That made for a very jarring ride. Other than that it seemed like the materials on the inside were not put together the best or they used lesser quality stuff. I will say this though, its probably going to be hella better on gas mileage and maintenance. IDk I feel like subaru is like buick in a way where as its like an in between car company between mainstream and luxury vehicles. The Hyundai just felt a little dated on materials that's all.

I have bluelink... it's a quite nice feature, but quite slowish too... at the go station it would take about 2 minutes for my car to receive the signal (cuz that might use the worst modem in the market), sometimes at home could take up to 5minutes; that being said, during canadian winter times, it's nice to hear "next stop, long branch" and start my vehicle remotely so when I get to the train station, the cabin is warm and windshield and mirrors defrosted.

I have used my Bluelink app to start my car in both the summer and now the fall/winter. I have a 2019 Santa Fe. The BlueLink is nice in the winter as I can start the car and set the temp, steering wheel heater, defogger, heater, etc... from my office desk, then by the time I make it to the car, it's all nice and warm (Max of 10 minutes). I didn't think I would like it but, on a cold day it is nice. Not sure if it is worth the charge after 3 years. But, we shall see how much I use it. Also, if you think you might have forgotten to lock your car, you can do that remotely as well. Sometimes if a group of us are going to lunch, I can search and send the location to the nav system and have it ready when we get to the car. Nice parlor tricks, and it shuts up the guys with the remote starters on the FOBs. Expect a request to take a minute or so to make it to the car. Hyundai just updated the app on Android. We'll see how it performs compared to the old one.

We have an itty bitty HR-V for our basic family hauling needs, and it's been a reliable little runner. But this is more interesting and well thought-out in my eyes. The rear doesn't have the same versatility that Honda's Magic Seat system has, but otherwise, I think it's a better package for the class than the HR-V. I do think this would benefit from an AWD option down the road, but the HR-V's AWD is so horrendous and the stock tires are so miserable that it doesn't make a difference in inclement weather anyway.
