Interesting video. Still uncertain after watching though. A major concern for me is which machine can I count on using 7, 8, 9 years from now. Is there one that will be most futureproof, ie be supported longer, continue to operate the latest version of software longest, still work speedily and flawlessly years from now.

Hello Alison and sorry for such a delay to reply, only just seen this message, Im afraid any 7, 8, 9 years from now will be impossible to say as it is not a benefit for any company to make a computer last so long, I know its awful to say but I beleive Apple in particular would like you to change you phone every couple of years and you computer maybe 5 years, pretty much no parts are user replaceable and Apple will either overprice the repair or class your computer as legacy making it hard to get parts. besides right now Apple have announced they intend to use a complete different processor and may bring out a computer using this as early as this year, from previous experience you could be looking as long as a couple of years for them to iron out any problems and programmers will need to update their software to work.

Hi! I want to but my first Mac, I really like thin and light laptops cuz I'm going to travel often in the future, so I was thinking about the macbook air. At the same time my next job will be based on designing and managing my own website, blogging, soft editing pictures/videos. Do you think it would be enough the core i5 16 GB MacBook air? Or should I go with the pro?...even thoght this one is heavier and thicker

Thank you for looking and contacting me. I am sorry for such a late reply, if weight is important then I would certainly suggest the MacBook Air. It is more than capable for web use and basic editing of photos and videos. I would certainly go for at least 16GB of RAM. Perhaps a visit to your local apple store so you can view them both and decide if the weight is that much or a big deal, The MacBook pro will give you overall a better performance on the editing side but the Air is more than capable of doing the task.
