Well made video but my limited 2013 has many of those same features that you pointed out the new one had that your LE does not. Such as keyless entry, push button start, heated seats, ect. I like the looks of the new one but the 8 speed trans. is a deal breaker. Drive is horrible. Would force me to look at the hybrid if I were wanting to upgrade

I have always wondered if anyone can answer this, my Mom has a 2013 and it feels like a V6 with the whining and the slightest touch of the gas pedal gets to instantly jerking to speed, why is that? I know it's a 4 cylinder but it feels like i'm driving a V6 and has some pep in it's step, anyone know what Toyota does to their engines or transmissions to make them drive that way?

They could make the throttle more responsive. Also the engine has a good torque curve. It makes a lot of torque right from the start even though its peak power isn't very high

An automaker can choose to recall for quality issues, yes. When the government gets involved and forced an automaker to recall something, it's typically a safety concern.

Just came across this video and it's funny. We have a 2013 XLE AWD and a 2020 LE AWD. I actually prefer driving the 2013. I don't like a lot of the safety crap like lane assist, radar controlled cruise control etc. I find it annoying to drive the 2020. I leave the crap turned on because the Mrs. likes it on the 2020 and I don't want to bother switching it back and forth so I just drive the 2013. I guess I'm old school and prefer to drive myself so I could never own something like a Tesla (aside from my hatred of the arrogant Muskrat). And just a warning to people, the keyless start is going to lead to a lot more thefts of higher end vehicles because it is a lot less secure than having a key. The thieves are becoming more adept at capturing the signal from your keyfob and creating their own key.
