They kept all the good stuff from the 2019 model RS then added a down shift autoblipper, increased the torque and stuck on a nicer (IMO) looking end can and headlamps yet kept the price the same 😀 Well done Triumph !

Looks nice & will no doubt be an absolute weapon. It's got class leader written all over it but you'll pay handsomely for it, especially a fully spec'd one. Maybe £12k all in once you browsed Triumph's great accessory catalogue. Because we're British, it's obviously not exotic to us but I bet the rest of the world, especially the Americans, will go mad for it. Very interested to see the first ride reviews & the different spec level prices.

As a 2018 Street Triple R owner I was pleased to see the 2020 version had the quickshifter and auto blipper as standard also the OTR price had dropped £400 to £8,900, there was a downside of how they managed the price drop which was replacing the TFT with the old dash of the S and 675 models, they also changed the seat to a lower spec version, nevertheless I went ahead and ordered it, then on June 3rd I went to collect my bike ,it looked lovely in Sapphire black , the salesman was doing the hand over and running me through the new dash but when we came to the modes (now 3 not 4) we couldn't access sport mode, just rain and road was availible, the mechanics put her up on the ramp and rebooted the software to no avail , I went home expecting a simple solution when the dealer contacted Triumph but next morning the dealer contacted me to tell me Triumph where aware of the problem which was software related but wouldn't be resolved till early August (2 months away at this stage) I was pissed off but thought I could live with it whilst running the bike in, Triumph also offered me a couple of after market parts which I grudgingly accepted, then after taking it easy for the first 200 miles I decided to now try out the quickshifter and auto blipper, BOLLOX! they didn't work, the quickshifter would work but only between 5 and 6,000 rpm (which you can do without a quickshifter) so realistically it wasn't working and the blipper wouldn't budge, the dealer contacted Triumph who said it was most likely because sport mode was unavailible, which I believe is rubbish as the shifter and blipper on the 2020 RS work well on every mode including rain. after prolonged negotiations the dealer agreed to reverse the deal and return my 2018 bike and my payment, I'd like to say my dealer (Phillip McCallen motorcycles N. Ireland) has done his very best to resolve the situation, I'm just astonished that if Triumph were aware of the problems before releasing the bike it's criminal and if they were unaware of the problems they were incompetent, (I should've pointed out I've since learned this appears to have affected all the 2020 Street Triple Rs) IMO this goes way beyond simple software glitches and my guess is the Rs will be recalled to have TFTs fitted.

Great looking bike, and personally I like the low slung exhaust, in fact in my experience most Speed Triple riders change out the underseat exhaust for a "Low Boy" exhaust anyway. The One thing I think looks odd and ugly, is the headlight, just the way it seems to stick out about 6 inches from the front of the bike? (like it's hanging off) never liked that, and disappointed they haven't fixed that yet.

As a 2018 owner I like the new bike but no desire for an upgrade. It’s all small tweaks which aren’t worth changing a bike for but it looks good. Not keen on the seat height increase but it’s not too much. I like the gloss paint on the silver as Im not keen on matt paint at all. Don’t like decals much. Lots of hype and mainly small changes. It’s been a great bike for years and still is. The price is the same as the old model so it’s no more expensive albeit pricey to begin with but a great bike so worth the cash in my opinion if you’re in the market for a sporty naked that you can ride aggressively without killing yourself.

I'm with you on the paint schemes. The top spec paint schemes are terrible. Matte shades of grey. You have to get a lower spec model to get any color! The best color they had last year was the white, and now even that is gone. I would love to see a classic glossy BRG with an offset stripe and maybe some minimal yellow accents like the "RS" decal or something. I like the new headlights more than the old ones. Is more power always better. Not if you need a lot of electronics to manage all the power. And in the normal world, you will never be able to use them all to the full. In the normal world, less is often more. You will be able to use most of the power. Around 100 bhp, depending on the weight of the machine, is enough. For racing, you’ll never have enough it seems.

The only thing I care about is that they lowered the gearing on the 1st and 2nd gear, making it more fun and probably more hooligan:esque. Something st3 series as a naked bike lacked compared to say the Mt09. Honestly I thought we would even get more displacement for more grunt but it is like it is. St3 is for me a naked Daytona 675 and the new 765 felt exactly like my old long stroked D675 from 11 which was a bit disappointed as it is a naked bike and not a "race" bike where you dont need the grunt low below. I really love the new headlights but wish they could be mounted just a bit lower.

I was thinking the exact same thing re the red flashes... I don't see how that makes it look better. Triumphs are classy and these bits look downmarket to me. The 2020 Street Triple bike looks awesome. In terms of getting one, I am on the fence. I really hope that Triumph increased the mid-range as they claim and went back to how the Street Triple R was in 2012. From 2013 Triumph started drifting by changing the weight distribution to make the Street Triple sportier and more track oriented (The RS), and unfortunately, Triumph forgot the original fans like you -TMF & me. All these recent models are a little bit revvy, and above all, they are less fun & exciting on the road as you have to rev the engine like an inline Honda to have fun. Meaning, I agree 100% with you, the Street Triple R 2012 is the real deal, the One as It is well balanced & well geared, perfect for the road. Don’t get me wrong, If you are fond of sport bikes, you are going to love this version (and the previous RS which is optimised for the top end for track purpose). @tTMF: Will it be possible to have a video that compare the Street Triple's dyno charts of 2012, 2013, 2017 models and this new one and explain why the 2012 is the perfect, the ultimate one? Or from your perspective, why the RS isn’t good for the road as it has a whole before 6000rpm? I think it will be great and informative if you can compile a video that compare the dyno charts of Street Triple R vs MT-09? Keep up the good work.

As a Street Triple owner I agree with the majority of what you said, in particular re the disappointing colours, up to this point Triumph had made a great job of the colour schemes on the Street Triples ,eg your 2012 model was one of the nicest. I'm also slightly disappointed in that old bug bear of many models which get heavier with no power change in each incarnation, it's got 2kg heavier and that extra catalytic converter is surely gonna sap some power, so not the evolution we might have expected.

"What happened to all the fantastic paint schemes...back in 2012" Still buys the black one. You answered your own question!

But they don’t do glossy black and gold now???

Solid video, their bikes are fantastic. As far as the paint...nobody wants a purple bike. Lol

Surely it could not be that difficult to have a different front light assembly for those that prefer a single light. Something like Honda do on the cb650r could be good. Triumph could add it to their accessories range!

Love the concept of a middle weight three cylinder that handles fantastic, it’s just the front end, I.e. lights and instrument cluster to my eye are pig ugly and would sell loads more in an updated style of the old Daytona.

I’m with chops. It looks annoyed 😠, but I bet it’ll be a great seller.

@@TheMissendenFlyer looking mean is one thing. Looking just plain pissed off is something entirely different. Apart from that, it's a classy looking machine. 🍻

Might change my 2017 RS to this new one, instead of the Tiger. So difficult to decide.

I'm in two minds also. My mind says this bike, but my old body says tiger.

@@TheMissendenFlyer Yes they are, but things like heated seats and wind protection are starting to appeal. First world problems, I know.

Yeah I know where you're coming from - if you can only have one bike then I'm not sure this is the "do it all" you'd be after....but as a second bike....perfect!

Haha I’m in the same boat. But I toured on my Street Triple this year and my old body almost survived 😂 so have decided I need to get both. The Streety is too good to get rid of.
