@@alexandersupertramp1293 tritons have a other advantage now with the 10 year/200,000km warranty. Makes it a great value proposition. It really is the most practical. It's classified as a sport/utility truck and it does exactly that! Others are trying to make their pick-ups suvs. The ranger, vw and ldv cannot realistically carry heavy loads off-road for a long time. I would only trust the triton and dmax which are proven.

Walk to my mate tjm gave him 10k we did: Ufh, Rear air locker, winch, bull bar side bar rear bar, set of 32 (33 is too high on Diesel) 50mm lift from and rear, rust proofs bash plate and transmission plate. Second battery fridges etc... Have it for 5 years now bashed it all around never missed the beat. Total cost 43/44k... At that price you haven't even got a Hilux or dmax and you will still have to spend 10k to make it good off road

Not sure why, but these guys never talk about Mitsubishi's super select system? They mention Volkswagen's onroad AWD system as an advantage in the segment, but they dont talk about its lack of traditional low range? The super select system allows you to run the 4wd system on the tarmac like the Amarok but still maintains a proper low range and centre lock high range, a real game changer for this segment and fantastic for safety. It was a good generic review overall, but I'll still wait for 4WD 24/7 as their reviews really are the benchmark when it comes to testing these platforms and how they perform in hard Australian conditions.
@anthonyramdin10374 жыл бұрын
These guys are jokers. That's why I don't watch their vids. 4wd 24/7 really did an awesome review last time. If they re did the test, results basically would be the same except for the possibility that the max or hilux may overtake the triton.

No low range in a amarok is only a disadvantage for hard, slow, rock climbing style 4wding. I do find it odd they say the new Isuzu has a bullet proof engine.... it’s a new engine..... hardly been proven. My current 2018 Dmax has had a coolant leak. $4000 repair. John Cadogan does a really good review of the current model Triton, I have a 2011 Amarok, manual and it does actually have low range with various diff lock options as standard (haven't had it off road yet as I've only owned it a short time) power from the 2.0 litre is great even towing a reasonable weight camper trailer. With regards to the way these journo's test them I think around 70% of most buyers will never actually use them to full capability hence the seemingly easy test loops. My 4wbie exists to drive me to work, the odd fishing trip and to tow a boat/camper trailer.

If I intend to tow I would go the ISUZU as I trust the brand the most for reliability, it has reasonable performance, it’s one of the biggest engines without the most power which means not so much reliance on the turbo and it’s only got one turbo which is a good thing as they are expensive to replace, it has a conventional inline engine with the right number of cylinders in my opinion and as far as I know ISUZU hasn’t shamed themselves as far as honoring warranty claims. Also ISUZU ute only have one drive train so the people that maintain them should be expert whereas other brands have a service department that has to deal with a broad range of models, therefore if there is a problem they should get to the bottom of it quickly and if they don’t they won’t be selling too many vehicles. If I did not intend to tow then I would go for the Mitsubishi as it’s cheap with a good warranty, reasonable performance and reliability and I don’t think Mitsubishi have shamed themselves very much with warranty claims either.

A shame these blokes didn't know the vehicles they were driving.. Firstly they don't all have 3.5 ton towing capacity as they stated. The Triton has 2WD, 4WD & AWD selection (Super Select) that they didn't mention and obviously failed to use when driving in the wet. Also the Amarok fails to have a low/high range selection that all the other Utes' do have.

@brettwhitla44254 жыл бұрын
@@alexandersupertramp1293 The Triton is 3100kg. BUT, it only loses 115kg towing capacity when it is fully loaded whilst the Ranger loses 700kg towing capacity. So the Triton can actually tow more if both vehicles are fully loaded. Triton 2985kg. Ranger 2800kg

What do you love about the D-Max, Paul?
@paulsueb4 жыл бұрын
@@bernardpeel7133 I've had all 3 generations of the DMax and this is by far, the best. It's quite a leap forward. The interior is great, the engine is quieter and makes more power, it looks amazing and commands attention on the road. People literally chase me to ask about it and see the interior as perspective buyers. The infotainment is (not the best) but miles ahead of the previous gen. Apple CarPlay overcomes that anyway. Overall good package.

Realistically how many amaroks do you see towing a caravan on an long distance journey? Personally I’ve seen very few. Now why is that?
@granthodges98604 жыл бұрын
Travelled extensively through western QLD for years now and the clear winner is the Toyota Hilux with the Ford Ranger not too far behind. Reason - Toyota reliability and availability of parts should anything go wrong.
@rrphotography36004 жыл бұрын
For the wet weather test did you put the triton in all wheel drive? Just curious as thats the biggest difference that the amarock has over the other utes. Wasnt mentioned that the triton has a full select transfer case 2H, All wheel drive, 4H 4L. For me maneuverability holds king, lots of these utes have huge turning circles and foot prints making parking a tedious task. Especially if this is the family car that means lots of car parks and shopping centres. Id probably have to go with Triton as you mentioned it had the best turning circle and shortest wheel base.

Would buy the ranger. Because they have not changed the it for a long time. Tried and tested. Love that engine. So powerful and efficient. The interior is has nice seating . Good legroom in the back. You also get the roller shutter. The infotainment system is the easiest to use and the maps are high clarity . They hold there value the best in New Zealand. You get tow bar , 4x4 and tub liner all as standard on wildtrak. The quality of the ranger is the best because they don’t change it very much they just keep adding to make the best Ute. If it was not for ranger it would be the Isuzu.

That is all the reasons i bought one last month. Wildtrack is so easy to live with on a daily basis.
