There should be 6cyl Turbo only for Acura TLXs. They should’ve learned something from Nissan after the 6cyl Altimas nearly made the Maxima obsolete. Maximas are still trying to recover. Acura should’ve at least tuned their 4cyl TLXs to 300-320hp and 6cyl at least 380-400hp to justify price. They have now made it easier for shoppers to just go purchase 2-3yr old BMW 4 and 5 Series with benchmark performance and tech laden cabins

The new TLX is gorgeous inside and out, but 0-60 in 7 seconds for a $50k sporty luxury car is just way to slow in this day and age. Had a deposit on a 2021 TLX AWD Advance which sticker'd just under 50k, but I was so back and forth and in the end decided to not buy it. As much as I loved everything else about the car, I know the poor acceleration would really get to me. Another thing is the gas mileage is relatively poor too. As a comparison, the BMW 540i is much more powerful and wayyy faster and gets about the same MPG. Awesome car, but the engine and trans tuning is, unfortunately a let down.

I saved 20 stacks getting my 20 Accord Touring 2.0T. 😊 32K vs 52K, be smarter and plus the Type-S isn't all that much faster while the Touring has more luxury at certain parts as well.

So a 2010 Acura TL SH_AWD has a 3.7L V-6. They should of just put that engine with a turbo in the new type-s. Now the 2021 TLX is basically the slowest in it's class

Very disappointing numbers from the heavy tlx. Tuned is barely faster than a stock accord sport. Obviously there’s a big difference in luxury and ride but performance isn’t there. Good thing the type S solves that problem, just hope they aren’t impossible to find without a ridiculous markup.

I agree as well. The V6 turbo thats in the type s really should have been the base engine for the TLX 2nd Gen. Acura is the premium/luxury brand. If you want a 4 cyl turbo buy a Accord why offer such a similar motor minus the SH AWD.

Heatsoaking? It’s the same test for all 4 models with 3 pulls each, with the same “real world” intention of doing them back to back. The raise of under hood temperatures clearly affected the performance of all model. Perhaps an larger Intercooler can helps with the heat exchange. Dragy isn’t the best and precise tool to measure but it pretty close. Base on some of the prior testings on a track, it has a +/- one tenth of a second difference from track time. The Accord is clearly faster, mainly would be due to weight and software, but do not believe a stock Accord 2.0T with 10-speed Auto can do 13.8 in a quarter

My 2020 Kia Forte GT, 6 Speed Manual has run 5.5 0-60, 13.75@101.9 and 13.77@103.4 with just a JB4, E30 and WMI enabled on the last run mentioned. All on Hoosier Drag Radials and Whiteline Springs. These cars can do better especially if they get off pump gas.

Nothing but great things to say on the BC Coilover. It gives a much sportier ride than the Oem stock suspension but yet not harsh or bouncy. Highly recommended

I don't think so. TLX in general is on the lower end compared to the competition with the price point with what it offers and performance. The new Genesis g70> Type S in every category that isn't personal opinion (looks of the car for example). TLX does look better, imo.

@@litmotollc7799 explain? Type S is slowest in the class struggles to get below 5 sec 0-60. The g70 is a true rwd architecture. The type S is a nose heavy fwd architecture. They can try to mask it with the torque vectoring diff all they want but it will never have the dynamics/balance if the g70. It weighs as much as a challenger scat pack.
