Jax, dude! I'm so pleased to have found your channel. The only difference I see between your reviews and the big boy channels like Throttle House are drone / external driving B roll shots. Outside of that, you clearly put a lot of time and thought into your content (and the production values are pretty up there). I appreciate your subjective perspective which I find more useful than the objective run down of features that I see most other places. I have taken a test drive in the Veloster N and loved it. The sound adds so much to the drive, the wheelbase / size is perfect for that go cart handling, the steering feel is phenomenal...it was at the top of my next car list until I watched your G70 review. Wow, you were even more excited about that car than the VN. I think you said the steering was very much like the NSX's (plus it feeling like an E46 3 series which I thought was a perfect car). If anyone is reading this comment and you haven't seen that G70 vid, definitely worth it. I'd love to hear your take on the comparison between the Veloster N and the G70 (particularly the discontinued manual 2.0 version since that is what I'd be looking to get). I love the driving dynamics of the VN but if I could get something that felt that good and had some luxury, I'd go for the G70. I'm 49 and I still love the always on nature of the VN. Is the G70 good in comparison to it's class or would you say it's in the VN ball park when it comes to fun? The soon to be released redesign of the G70 looks incredible which I might consider even though it doesn't have a manual. I assume / hope the redesign will at least come with wet clutch DCT that is in the Veloster. Thanks for all the time and work you put into your channel!
@jax10793 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! That means a lot, especially because I love Throttle House as well. As far as the VN vs G70.... The VN might be more fun, but the G70 is light-years ahead in terms of interior materials and options. As a car to live with, the G70 will be much nicer, but I think the VN is actually more fun, more raw, if not quite as objectively fast. Both EXCELLENT vehicles though, particularly for the price. Thanks for watching! 🙏🏻

Here in OH, you can get a 2021 manual Veloster N for about 32k, whereas a 3 year old used Type R is still around 36k, and new ones are very rare and are at minimum 39-40k. Excellent review. Question about ride quality of the Veloster n vs 2020 WRX. Have you driven the WRX? Thanks

I haven't driven the WRX recently, but I imagine the Veloster is harsher. In normal mode, it's not too bad, but like I said: I've got a short commute. My thoughts on the "garbage plastic interior" after a test drive in the car: I was actually impressed with the interior. There are no luxurious, soft or in any way 'nice' materials, but it is very high quality, well built, well designed interior. This coming from someone who has only owned cheap 90's cars. But I have been in new base model corollas, and I liked this a lot better than the base corollas.
@jax10793 жыл бұрын
This is true. I would say that "fit and finish" are very good, but the quality of the plastics is trash. I have a C5 Corvette, which was much the same: amazing powertrain, crap interior. The difference there is in fit and finish: it's terrible in my old Vette, so I guess Hyundai is trying to split the difference in the Veloster 🤣 Thanks so much for watching! 🙏🏻

IMO, the greedy dealerships, and high used car value kinda destroyed the Type R. The VN is already at a good value for the price for a new one. If you further factor in used car prices, there is no comparison value-wise. I paid 23k for a 15k miles 19 VN with the Performance Pack. If I go with a used Type R, I would probably still need to pay 33~35k. Just couldn't justify spending 10+ grand for a Type R.

Has anyone put car seats in the back? I really want an N, but I have 2 children.
@jax10793 жыл бұрын
Good and bad news: the back seats are surprisingly roomy, and the space to access them with the third door is generous. However, you can ONLY access them on the passenger side. If you plan to be taking the seats in and out, it could become annoying (like if you have a true baby seat that needs to be removed). On that note, for young children sitting upright, there's plenty of room, but for a baby seat that faces backwards... less so. It would have to go behind the passenger seat, which would trap the other kid behind the driver. Just some things to consider. Hope that helps a bit. Thanks for watching!
