A lot of people are talking trash about the 4 turbo… But once you drive it, it’ll be hard to go for the old 6.

Agree , i tried both of them 2021 and after my experience, i bought the 4 cylinder 2.0L 2021 ,, it’s way better in torque and this is what we need as a jeep drivers.

When I was driving concrete mixers and dump trucks, the wide flotation tires on the steering axles would make an otherwise straight tracking truck want to wander. I imagine the same thing is the case with the wide tires on the Jeep.

As a Jeep fan, I'm happy they still make the 2-door. It's less practical unless you're doing some kinds of off-roading or regularly parking in tight spaces but the 2-door just seems truer to the Jeep history. A shorter wheelbase won't track as easily and bumps feel harsher. I've always thought turbo engines don't match up well with manuals because you lose boost while you're shifting so I guess it's okay that the 2L is auto-only. The Pentastar 3.6 V6 makes good power and has been out long enough to get the bugs worked out. It's a good engine. You're supposed to get into 2-door Jeeps from the passenger side and the passenger seat usually has an easy-access lever. In my CJ the entire seat swings up against the dashboard and has a generous opening. As a fun fact, air conditioning is still optional on base model 2-door Wranglers. Also as a fun fact, push to start is standard but power locks and remote entry is optional. Jeeps so equipped have a huge key fob with no buttons and a plain black key. It's silly having to unlock your car with a key like it's 1995 and then get in and push a button to start it. I think it's the only car in the US without fully standard A/C. The Toyota Tacoma/4Runner guys also love those giant chunky keys. I have other crap in my pockets so I don't get the appeal.

Thanks for the review. I'm in the process of deciding between the V6 and the Turbo. But I don't think it's very fair to judge the driving dynamics of a used vehicle that's obviously been modified. You can't apply that assessment to a stock Jeep, cuz it's not going to be the same. God knows what they did the suspension, and the tires obviously have a major difference in size and offset, which is going to greatly affect the handling. Not fair to say that all Rubicon suck driving on the road just because that one does! Also, I'm sure you realize that you can get an optional bigger screen as well as other safety options like the adaptive cruise control, Lane assist, and emergency braking. Again, just because that particular Jeep didn't have those doesn't mean they're not available for somebody who would want them. I just don't like how this Jeep was portrayed as representing all two-door Rubicons! However, I do know that they don't handle the greatest on the road in general compared to a regular car, and I was glad to hear your thoughts on the turbo because it seems the more people that drive them the more that like them.

Im with you, I hate driving jeep wranglers. And the 2 door ones are even more sketchy feeling. Ive driven a few and theyre just a no. I do like the Gladiator though

The gladiator was almost my next truck cause of the removable everything but the cabin space was somehow more cramped than in a wrangler

@@jonc7371 that is true though I never really cared for the fact that you can remove stuff. I have the filthy casual approach to it and just really like the design of it. Lol honestly both of them feel kinda cramped. But the wrangler always felt worse to me. But at the end of the day the jeep I would love love love to get my hands on is either a TJ or a YJ. I actually got better with not stalling in a YJ. though I need to get better with dealing with hills cause where my current shop is, there's a lot of inclines in the parking lot and in the road

Always rent a wrangler when in Arizona. Achieve 28 mpg on highway with turbo, and great power when off-road. Steering was fine with manufacture A/T tires.

Everyone buys jeeps and 4x4's with fat, heavy tires for show, best to have skinny, lighter tires as they improve the ride, more contact pressure with the road/trail, and less unsprung weight means that the vehicle will handle much better. I like the 2.0 turbo as it is a little easier to work on than the V6 but like all engines it is all give and take with the engineering.

I luv the way my jk 2door with wide tires drives, no issues with the required steering input required on the Highway. Keeps me engaged and connected to the road, windows down and fun times with the music on. Whenever I hop into cars with lane assist etc I get bored and disengaged, can’t stand it, feels like I’m in a nanny car.

From 2024 V6 with auto is only available in Rubicon with $4000 extra, no more V6 for other models unless if it is a manual. Too sad that Jeep is pushing the turbo.

Don't talk about MPG if you don't know. The only jeep you will ever see 22 is two door SportS. When you buy a jeep - any jeep, expect 15-18 MPG with 2L Turbo, and 15-16 with V6.

The 3.6 V6 is the better known engine, and it has been around since the JK Wranglers. So if anything should go wrong with the engine, there are more mechanics who know what to do, there's more info on that engine (if you're a DIY person), and parts would be easier to find. FYI: the diesel engine is a V6, not a 4 cylinder. It's the same one in the Grand Cherokee.

The Pentastar 3.6 has been around long enough to get the bugs worked out. It makes good power and is pretty reliable. It's a perfectly adequate engine.

Had the 2.0 in a Wrangler Saraha Unlimited we rented for a road trip. It got way worse mpg than my Ram 1500 Classic Hemi on that same route. It only managed 18-19 mpg hwy. Had to fill up in the middle of the trip, never had to do that in the Ram or even the 06 Dakota I had with the 4.7 V8, 5 spd trans, & 22 gallon tank.

Anything made by chrysler is garbage. I told my sister in law when she got rid of her 18' civic coupe for a 2018 jeep wrangler she made a mistake. Keep in mind she loves that jeep... three years later she's in a 17' civic coupe. Reliability goes to show.

You’ve driven the 2.0L 4cyl. in a Jeep JL before. That’s also the motor paired to the 4xe powertrain. Also, the 2.0L is turbocharged. Unlike the 3.6L, that means more consistent horsepower and torque at higher elevations. Factual slip-up: the 3.6 is a relatively modern engine, originally introduced in 2010. I would suggest trying it out.
