I test rode this bike a year ago. I went for the z900 in the end as I got it discounted to £8k. However, I found the gsx to be wicked fun. It is a bit revvy but the gearbox is brilliant. I would have been happy with it. I agree, a cracking bike.

Which bike was more comfortable? The Z900 or the GSXS750? The foot pegs on the GSXS are lower than the Z’s right?

@@ChrisVonDoom83 I don't remember if the footpegs were lower on the Suzuki, however the z has a more upright riding position, I felt that I was leaning forward more on the Suzuki. Theres not much between the two though.

I've had one of these for just over a year now and still believe these are massively underrated bikes for the cash. It's a do it all bike with a seriously addictive engine note when you ring it's neck. I was considering swapping it next year for a bigger 4 cylinder bike but I honestly think I'll just keep this and enjoy it for a few more years.
@langhamp8912
@langhamp8912 7 ай бұрын
I had its bigger brother but I sold it for a much smaller bike. With the GSXS1000, there's no place except the track where you can wring its neck. Most bikes I've owned you can rev above 7K in 2nd to 4th gear, but on the 1000 2nd gear is above 90 mph. I will say the components, frame, swingarm, and all that are of much higher quality than the GSXS750, and that alone might make it a better bike worth owning.

I bought one of these as my second bike 6 months ago, 3000 miles in and its been bloody brilliant. At the minute I wouldn't trade it for anything, does everything I need from commuting to blasting down the lanes on a Sunday. Brilliant bike. I have a video with an aftermarket muffler on my channel if you're wondering how it sounds (it's good, it's very good). Also HealTech make a bolt on quickshifter kit for around 300 quid.

Bought this one in May last year as my first ever own bike. I've been riding a Honda CB125F for 1,5 seasons before and did my driving lessons on a Kawasaki Z650 - both of the bikes felt ridiculously small for me so when I was looking for the first bike this beauty instantly caught my attention. There was also a Kawasaki Z900 available but I felt it's a bit too much for me. Man, I'm having SO MUCH fun with this bike, it's ridiculously easy to ride, very comfortably flat-footing it (I'm 176 cm tall), it's absolutely lovely with the torque meaning - it doesn't "jump" at all with it's 4 cylinders... I just love it, I strongly believe it's WAY underrated. And I agree with you - it's a bit sporty position so yea... a stop to stretch is definitely nice ;) And when it comes to styling of Suzuki vs Kawasaki... well I just love the blue Suzukis (and my wife is the green-Kawasaki junkie, so we can switch the machines xD). One last piece of info about the GSX-750 for all interested: till about 6500-7000 RPM it's just quite fast, it's when you go above those revs it becomes FAST - you kinda feel bottom slightly slide back on the seat xD ... But when I rewatch your review of the GSX-S1000 GT I just drool over my desk - this is definitely my dream machine now. Love the vid, cheers from a subscriber from Poland mate!

I’m considering this bike and the Z900. Why did you pick this over the Z900? I’m from the US, so Kawasaki’s dealer network is as big if not bigger than Suzuki’s, so I’m not concerned about maintenance or finding parts.

This bike's a bargain. It may be dated but the components are all tried and tested and reliable. 112bhp, good brakes, reliable, sounds great, and I even like the looks in this colour. I have a 2018 version which looks so similar and has been my best bike owned so far for commuting around town. Has great low end torque and you don't have to constantly rev the engine everywhere you go. The pipes aren't loud to blow your eardrums and thus, when you're old, you'll be able to hear your grandchildren call your name. It's sporty looking, fuel efficient, easy to handle as if it were a toy. I've gone on long trips out of state but it's really not suitable for that stuff in my opinion. Probably no crotch rocket is.

Yup, having had one for 3 years; A Few choice little mods really bring the bike on. Shame Suzuki don't see that it's a big seller with a bit of an update. Slightly better quality swing arm and some LED lights would work wonders. Mine was 106bhp at the rear after a few mods, plenty quick enough for the road really and still some 19bhp more than the new GSXS950! - it's actually quite good on track too until you start pushing it and run out of ground clearance and suspension adjustment. Great review as always 😉👌😁. I do miss mine though! ... Another one I should have kept!

I have the 2020 model, what a great bike it is. That engine pulls great in the low RPMs unlike many modern I4 engines. I put a MIVV suono slip-on on it and it sounds better without exceeding noise regulations. The only thing I might add is a quickshifter for the upshifts.

Got myself this bike in August 2021 as first bike (ok, not quite first, but it's been too long ago and only on dirt tracks at 13/14ish yo... ;) ) I'm perfectly happy with the limited tech: ABS, TCS, the minimum necessary, yet no distractions and i can fully focus on what's happening around me without any bells and whistles... Can't really compare much, since my first riding experience was over 25 years ago on xr250 and only on dirt tracks... The handling is way better than what i was expecting when compared to my friends agusta, and it feels like this bike was tailored for the swiss twisty roads... :3

I have this bike since middle of 2020 and absolutely love it. I think your review nails it with regards to pretty much everything. The power band, the steering, the brakes and the sound... I loved that growling and singing from the first test drive and I still get a silly smile and laugh when I hear it from way down in the rpm to the limiter... :D Two things where I "disagree" a bit or at least would like to add to. 1. The stuff you are missing like quickshifter etc. Yes, that would be nice, but it would also add cost. As it is, I believe you get incredible value for money with this bike versus the competition. 2. I had VFR800 1999 before the gixxes and I am actually more comfortable on the Suzuki than I was on the Honda. Especially with my older knees for some weird reason, but also wrists and arms. I have spend many days with 6+ hours in the saddle, which need to be ridden in (if you can say that in English?). The first month or two I got a sore behind after a couple of hours, but since then no issues. PS. I am 50 years old and have been on motorcycles since I was 17'ish with a few years break here and there. PPS. I bought a special edition "GSX-S750 Yoshimura edition +", which I fell in love with at once :)

I used to own a 1998 VFR800 in yellow, amazing bike but actually quite a sporty tourer. Not the comfiest. I love quickshifters, my point was that in order to keep up with competition, Suzuki need to start throwing more toys at their bikes. It seems they've listened as the GSX-S950 replaces this now, which has a few more toys and one of the best quickshifters out there. Ride safe and thanks for watching!

Added LED headlights and sides, tail tidy, and a carbon fibre Black widow slip on and she sounds fab, goes well. Handles really well great fun more than fast enough for todays roads and keeps up on road with makes blades and R1’s up to very silly speeds I don’t do nowadays. I like the dash and the looks. What more do you need to know when you're riding? You get all the info that's relevant. There are some things, I'd like them change. Give it LED lights & indicators. Drop the weight to below 210kg although I didn't find the weight being an issue after riding a 650 Bandit for a couple of years. Give a couple of millimeters of extra room for the rider (backwards). I kept hitting my lower back on the rear seat. (186 cm tall). Give it a better side stand. Oh, and also increase the rev limit by 250 RPMs so you could listen to the howl for a bit longer. I kept hitting the limiter way too often on my test ride a couple years back. Quickshifter up & down would of course be fantastic. The brakes and the sounds were the highlights for me. Finally Suzuki gave proper brakes after using the same crap Tokicos for an eternity. Riding modes are (in my opinion) completely pointless at this power level. Especially for inline 4s. Pretty hard to spin the tire unless you want to.

Good Review, It is a good first bike if you can handle it, it is front heavy( four in line ), specially at lower speed and in parking lot but the extra weight is good to have on highways at faster speed. These naked bikes are made for short rides and not comfortable for longer rides( over an hour), I had to change the ergonomics on mine, Handlebar risers, new adventure handlebar, windshield protection, air seat.

I have beenn many sports (or sporty looking) and naked bikes in the past few years. I would say the following bikes are most practical bikes: 1. Ninja 400: Mostly city ride with some weekend tour. 2. Ninja 650: city ride and weekend with 50:50 3. S750: more of weekend touring with short city ride. NOT that S750 is bad for the city ride by any means, but there are many bikes which are better suited for it. I wish the bike was a bit lighter which will be hard with the inline 4. YES, I am currently riding 2017 S750 and would love to have a quick shifter & new dashboard.

Thanks for posting. I suspect the GSX-S750nis in the last chance saloon, given it’s had no recent updates and frankly, looking poor(ish) value against more modern opposition. That’s not to diminish the bike - clearly a very good one - but who will buy one knowing they’re likely to soon be discounted, then withdrawn? Shame as I think 750cc is a capacity that really is all you need these days (if the tech and torque are right).

got a colleague that drives mc and he told me to go through with the license, my first and only lesson i had turned out kinda sketchy, idk which type of suzuki it was but looked kinda like this one 750cc and crazy light throttle and kept revving it too much every time i tried to change gear + once i managed to lift the front wheel maybe idk 15-20cm or what it was, scared the shite out of me + here in norway the teacher sits behind the student when learning to drive mc so that might not help much

Suzuki have discontinued the bike as it's new replacement is the GSX-S950 which will be A2 compliant. Also they are wanting another £1500 on top for the new 950cc model. Would be interested to hear your review on the new bike once available. However I have ridden this bike on a test ride and I still plan on purchasing one this year as a more up to date bike bike from my 600 hornet. No bike is perfect but feel it gives you the frills for a reasonable price.

I am horrified that the bean counters at Suzuki think it’s a good idea to neuter a bike enough, so they can make an even more neutered version of it that is A2 compliant. As an ex hornet owner myself I was looking to get back into a modern 4 cylinder bike. I’d much prefer they update the 750 rather than neuter a 1000.

I passed my test end september, which meant i could sell my cb125 and pick up my pearl white & yellow one 😃 I love it. Ride it everyday for commuting (almost 3k miles on the clock now) as i dont drive, and love it! Sure, some bits are a bit dated compared to the competition, but its great value! I got 500£ suzuki test ride discount (which paid for some options) but as a tall bigger rider, it fitted me perfectly! The only other realisitic option for me was the cb650r. The insurance for this was even a bit cheaper than that! It really is 2 bikes in 1: keep it below 5k and its a sensible commuter, but rev her up and she's a rocket. I did change the headlight for an LED though! That was much needed. Next up: tail tidy, yoshimura can and finally fit a mudguard extender

I love this review Dan. It is clear and it makes me smile. "a bit Casio.." And your insane laugh when you open it up and enjoy the classic K5 induction howl and licence loosing power! I have test ridden four now but can not quite commit. Old styling, Casio clock, Euro 4 and the wind is worse that other naked bikes. The price is the same as the 650s here Stg7,140.. The test rides have also left me smiling too. Same reason. And smooth and easy to ride in town. The option is to spend a bunch more cash for a Street Triple R. But the GSX still makes me smile. I loved my 96’ ZX750RR! Best stunt bike for a big person like myself. I used to come through town throw it up on a stop-e then without putting my feat down come to a complete stop, then wheelie away from the stop-e out of sight! People loved it! I have a liter bike now but it’s way to nice and big to be throwing it around. It’s just a big Ol drag bike with a GSXR liter bike engine! The GSX-S1000 tuned up and I got a CBR300R in red. I can toss it around a little but it’s not enough bike to stunt on but it’s a blast around town! Like a Honda Civic on 2 wheels just pin it and go! Who doesn’t love a engine that can cruise at 7k all day and not hurt it.

Nice review. It's a great bike but really dated & also neglected by Suzuki. Totally agree that a few relatively minor changes would get it back in the running if the price was right. However Suzuki are supposedly discontinuing it after this year so seems unlikely. Personally I think it would be a mistake to lose it but what do I know.

@Jean Roussel They have but it's the same 2021 model with new colours only & isn't euro 5 I believe so Suzuki are essential selling the last of the surplus stock this year. Although not sure if that's to discontinue it or introduce & new updated one. I hope it's the latter.

Suzuki is king of underated... They love using parts for a long time similar to Toyota which is a good thing man. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Look at the SV650 look at the DR 650. Look at the DRZ400 list goes on and on... I love Suzuki a lot of guys start on Suzuki's if you're into Japanese bikes because they seem to be a little cheaper in just as great

Bad advice to Suzuki. In the world of ultra technology we need at least one manufacturer to stick to the tried and proven. Some things on a bike should be as direct as the words I am applying to this comment. Sharp and physical, that's what riding is about for some of us who can appreciate the last quarter of the 20th century. KISS = Keep It Simple Suzuki! It Will Last Longer That Way. Peace.
