@@good_roads as someone who has owned an 00 Rav4 and now an 07 Rav4, I agree. They come as the most basic cars ever, but they quickly take on your personality and mold to the owner like one of those kits to made a dildo out of your own dick. They're fantastic cars, and range from the most pedestrian "I am an older lady and need something easy to get in and out of" cars on the road, to "I tank this thing through more camping trips, more expeditions through the mountains, and rip more muddy back roads than 95% of bro-dozers, while still dailying this pig 20-30 miles one way to go to work." This is what GM could've had if they made the second-gen Volt a powertrain option for the Equinox instead of its own car. Plug-in hybrids make sense for commuting, because you get enough range for a non-lethal commute, and for winter. (Electric heat murders EV range, but gas engines create motion as a byproduct of creating heat anyway so you get to be warm "for free". My Volt gets 120-140 MPGe on electric most of the time, but turn on the heat and that drops down to about the same economy it gets on gas.)
@me33332 жыл бұрын
That's a good idea, it's a shame they didn't do that because that might have made the POS Equinox actually worth buying. He said he loved it but was scared to get another one because of the fire

Toyota tech here. Want to make your new Toyota actually last longer than other brands? (because it definitely can) Make sure you do the regular scheduled maintenance. That's how these things last so long. The difference I've seen between 300k mile toyotas that have been maintained and haven't been is the difference between following decent (not even perfect) maintenance and any other car brand. I've seen 300k mile Carollas that had me fooled like they only had 100k. I've also seen them at 100k that weren't long for this world. Summary, they WILL last longer than even a Honda, but only if you maintain them.

She also enjoys a Stan Rogers song, and Gordon Lightfoot. I learned to drive manual in her '98 Rav4. As a 40 year old (now) Midwesterner who grew up in the same part of PA as Mr. Regular, I am the "Brandon" here who is afraid to run out of electricity when it's -11 degrees. I currently get 154 mpge, fill the gas tank every 3 months or so, and charge overnight (when electricity is only 4 cents per kwh) every night. It's the perfect vehicle if it weren't so hard to come by. Great review.

Subbed for the final song alone. Where has this channel been all my life?

I'm pretty sure I saw Big Brandon the other day. He took the R and M from the grille of his Ram, switched them around, flipped the M, and spelled out WAR. 🙄

Toyota Prius. When that first came out in the states, it was it’s own cultural revolution. That’s when cars started becoming political, too. you had Hummer and the Prius representing different visions for the American car.
@ileutur68632 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the prius perfectly represents the slow descent of America into politicizing everything. Everything is left or right now, yet nothing really is.
