Great video. I'd watch more. I also live in WA. It's cool to see someone local support dirt bike riding.

Great perspective on both. Presently owning a modded TE250I riding technical singletrack. I love the low first gear but dislike the gap to second gear, but have learned to live with it. The Xplor front end is not to my liking but had Lucky’s MXT inserts installed and now the front end is the fricking bomb! I’ve ridden the TX and didn’t have the forks set for my weight, hated the air forks for deep woods riding. IMHO your thoughts are spot on. Thanks for putting this out there!

Thx for your input! You definitely can't go wrong with either bike, and a few simple mods can tailor it to pretty much anyone's riding style.

Real good review. I think if I were buying a Husky or KTM again, I’d definitely lean towards the lighter bike. 10lbs is significant especially when you’re picking up your bike 20 times every ride. I traded in my 17 FE250 for a 18 TE150 for that very reason. The 20+ lbs weight savings is very significant and has really helped me learn faster that I would have otherwise.

Great choice! After having an 11 300 XC and 18 250 XC-W, I would never get a W or TE again. Prefer closer gear spacing and suspension with more hold up. Actually using the AER forks on my 18 and like them a bit better than the Xplor forks, even on super rough rocky and technical trails. 250 XC for me next time!

Amen, I ride a 250 XC, feels more planted and has better gearing. Us 2 stroke guys dont need that granny gear

I went with the TE for a few reasons... The gearing difference is difficult to notice, depending on rider. The AER forks are supposed to be really good but the Xplor forks are also great. If they're too soft, you can easily re-spring them.The TE comes with the wiring harness for the fan if you want it controlled by the ECU. I like the headlight for when it gets darker on the way back to the truck. And both engines are completely the same.

It's hard to go wrong, for sure! They're all great bikes. Just comes down to personal preference. I think many believe the TX / XC is too hard-edged to make a good trail/enduro bike, and I'm here to say that is not true. :) The Tusk fan is programmable, and same price as the KTM fan. I've also added a full street-legal kit with Motominded headlight, so I have plenty of light for night rides.
@Crazystuffyousee

@@WASemiHardEnduro - agreed... They're both great. But just pointing out for readers that the, the TX is cross country (good trail), the TE is enduro (even better trail), and the TC is motocross. Where I live you cant street legal any dirtbike unless it came from the factory as a street legal bike. Bummer.

I went with the 2022 TX300i. After riding my buddies 2022 TE300i, the lack of punch from the TE was a bummer for me. 1st and 2nd felt like an older ktm 200 i had. Very lackluster. The TX had far more of that fun factor 2 stroke punch. Great bikes no doubt, but i definitely noticed a good difference there. Which is why the Te is a "better" trail bike. But I rode CR250s on single track. So the TX is like a dream on single track to me.

It sure looks sweet, there all shiny and branny new! Just begging to be splashed through big mudholes and hopped over greasy logs and flipped over backwards down a steep, rocky ravine. Yes, let the fun begin!

Literally same reasons I chose my 22 300xc over xcw… especially the gear box and weight.

Once you go 2t ... you won’t go back. I wish they made a bike with the xc gearing and pds suspension. I Love my xcw TPI tho. The xcw weighs less than the te because the linkage is heavier. I hated the aer forks for the small loose chop. Great vid.
@WASemiHardEnduro

After having both PDS and linkage bikes, I think I'm sold on linkage. Lower seat height is great, and IMO the linkage tracks better in the rough stuff. I do like on the PDS has more clearance though.

I got the 250XC, Its a lot like your bike. Those Huskies are sooo Avant Gaurde I love both lines Something about those Huskies says I'm more serious. TX, vs TE . TE you get more stuff and a granny gear, TX you get a better bike with less stuff

I am looking into getting an enduro bike because I love riding Tahuya national state forest. What are your favorite places to ride here in Washington state that you would recommend? I would love to try more challenging stuff as well.

Walker is generally more difficult than Tahuya. Then there's all the USFS trails in the Cascades - all are fantastic.

Only 1 ride so far, but it’s amazing. I’d have to ride the TE back to back, but no regrets getting the TX even when the terrain gets harder.

A spring fork is more compliant. The air fork is harsh at low speeds. It forces you to run real low pressure and that sags the front end.
@WASemiHardEnduro
@WASemiHardEnduro 4 жыл бұрын
I dunno... I had the Xplor48s before, now the '21 AERs - I like the AER significantly more, not harsh at all. I'd suggest riding the latest AERs - they made some changes to the midvalve and they're really good.

@@WASemiHardEnduro I went xc because of the transmission really. If they just widened the gap a little on every gear the the w makes sense. The way it is now seems half assed. Your video helped my decision.

@@WASemiHardEnduro I agree, my 21 AER is really nice on the Arizona Rocks. Handles better to me. I believe the TX and the XC have slightly lower foot pegs as well. I also Prefer Linkage rear and like the fact the Husky line are linkage rear
