In a market full of CUVs from a brand with plenty of mediocre CUVs already, why pump-out another dud of a CUV instead of putting some effort into making it better in some way. Nothing about the Chevy Blazer makes it the smart choice over multiple better CUV option other than if someone just really LOVES the styling for some specific reason. @rars0n2 жыл бұрын
"I hope more cars do this instead of adhering so vehemently to touch screens." I sure hope not. What a terrible design. I actually think they're worse than touchscreen-only controls (and I absolutely hate touchscreen controls). Having physical buttons that constantly change functions defeats the point of having physical buttons in the first place. Drivers should be able to access commonly used features without looking at them or only glancing briefly at them. If you accidentally push the wrong button, now the other buttons have changed their function and you have to actually think about which button to hit in order to change them back so that you can hit the correct button instead, which takes all of your attention off the road. It doesn't help that they're all the same buttons lined up in a row. There's no consideration for spacing the buttons out in a logical order or giving them unique shapes, they just all look and feel exactly the same (good luck finding the fourth button from the left just by feel). I would be totally aggravated if my HVAC controls were arranged in straight line like that. Economy cars from the 90's had better designed controls than this. It also adds a second step to adjusting something simple that only requires a single button in other cars. Like to turn on the seat heater, you first hit the seat button and then have to move your finger over and hit the heater button. It's incredibly stupid, if you ask me. This is clearly a feature designed for people who buy things because they're shiny and look cool, and not because they are good designs.
@darkairieal2 жыл бұрын
@@rars0n I think you're right about that line of hvac controls being too similar to index quickly (like the row of buttons below them has dividers that a finger could rest on and count across) However having two "steps" to change controls can be done with two fingers in quick succession as a single motion. Like entering a keypad code it would become muscle memory for drivers without ever taking their eyes off the road.
@rars0n2 жыл бұрын

Very cool idea putting the headlights in a lower position. The way headlights work nowadays is they direct the light straight out and down, unlike the old kind where the light is just scattered everywhere. This is nice and all, but for cars that sit lower than these big vehicles and their super bright head lights, the drivers in the lower cars are absolutely blinded because the light cutoffs is still relatively high. Now that they are positioning these super bright headlights lower and out of the line of sight of other oncoming drivers is a huge plus!!!

Not a huge fan of the styling tbh. Way too much fragile ego overcompensation going on. I prefer the rivian and its' "cute but capable" look.

I love that Doug talks glowingly about the clearly unimplemented feedback button. The didn't put a physical button on the control knob to do nothing by display an email address. I'm surprised it didn't give you a phone number for you to fax your feedback in. This was definitely a feature that the developers didn't finish and it got deprioritized. Hopefully they replace that with the real functionality.

Yeah, the first suggestion I'd send to that email address would be to allow that button to be a configurable shortcut button.

You are the best car reviewer ever. You have so much information and how everything works. Most people that does reviews are so biased that they complain or make full of it because they are truck haters. None of them have such a great reviews like you great job.

I remember when Doug did the first review for the hummer with the wiggly shift column! Hummer has sure came along way! Nice review Doug!

@@yungboicontigo9278 They really did didn’t they!!👍……… i’m so pissed off at Chevy right now for that Camaro blazer it’s not even funny! It’s good to see hummer came through.

The year is 2023, a hummer EV zooms passed you at 200 mph, and there you see it, the hummer is crab walking in and out through traffic passing everyone up at 200 mph. The future is here.

I hope they come out with a solid roof version because that thing will be squeak city being a quiet electric truck and panels flexing and bending going over bumps, driveways, etc.

I don't know. A lot of rubber was present in the groves.

Chances are GM has been doing removable roof panels for at least if not longer than you have been alive. It's something a lot of their vehicles have had going back decades. They do a pretty good job as long as you don't mess up the gaskets.

3:22 I think the moon theme also has to do with the fact that GM and Lockheed Martin are teaming up to build moon rovers for future missions.

I had to stop the video to say that's not a Space Shuttle, that's an Apollo Saturn V. Doug, go to KSC or NASA Houston and do a Quirks and Features of this rocket.
@bonzobonanza2 жыл бұрын
According to Doug on Twitter, the "space shuttle" part was told by GM themselves.

"Generally big tall people like to drive big tall trucks." Doug I think you've got that one backwards. Every guy I see getting out of a lifted truck needs to take three steps to get into it lol.

Fantastic vehicle. I saw one for the first time in person yesterday at a GM dealership.
