I set mine to turn on manually using the button on the end of the stalk (if it turns on with the turn signal, it'll take over the infotainment screen, which is a PITA if I'm also using navigation) and I know I'll miss it if I get a car without it.

For example, if my lane is stopped, I can keep my eye on the right hand lane and check for a big enough gap more easily; or check for traffic during a freeway interchange where I need to merge right; etc. I’ve been driving a long time - I set my side mirrors as side mirrors, not duplicate rear mirrors, and do my shoulder checks - and the mirror-mounted camera has no downsides I can think of.

Me and my partner liked this when it came out and at the time we were looking to get into an SUV since we have kids and needed more space and have always had a sedan and she’s not into cars really or care much for them so when she actually wanted this we went to take a look at it and bought one. We got this spec the SX PRESTIGE XLINE because we planed on traveling a bit with it and it also has everything and price was in our range and we love it. It fits our family and can put some seats down when in need of more space. I also like that it looks really nice and sporty in my opinion for what it is and I like the way it drives for the most part. Also love the big pano roof and I’m not that tall but the 3rd row can actually fit someone about 5’9 for a short drive and they would be ok. I would really recommend this for a family of 4-5. Y’all would fit great and if you need more space you can put a seat down and fit everything you need. Y people and you might want to go bigger since you would not have much trunk space. That’s really the only thing I hate that trunk space is small but then telluride would be better and the good thing price wise it’s not much more. Also tech is pretty good you got great cameras and digital gauge cluster which is nice. We really love our Sorento.

My wife and I have owned two Sorentos over the last decade--a 2012 version and currently a 2018 model. It's my wife's daily driver and the long distance road tripper for our family (2 adults, a teenage daughter, and a big dog.) Each of the Sorentos we've owned has been a fully loaded top trim model. Each has given us excellent service and my wife loves our current 2018 model. Unfortunately, I have to say I wouldn't purchase a 2022 Sorento. The problem is that the only option for a mid or upper trim 2022 model Sorento is to opt for captain chairs in the second row. The only way to get a bench seat in the second row is to get the lowest trim model equipped with a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder engine. Although we're a small family, the second row bench is essential for us. Our dog won't fit in a captain chair so even with three humans and "Rover" we'd have to deploy the third row or take up at least half of the cargo space behind the second row for the dog. In short, the Sorento with second row captain chairs is a four passenger vehicle. And there are better choices including its cousin the Hyundai Santa Fe.

@@roboticvenom1935 haha, I never said the Genesis was a bad car, it’s just slower in 2.0 T guise than the 228i X drive. But of course the Genesis is a good deal, and it comes with standard driving assist equipment, but it is not a BMW, a Mercedes, or even a Lexus. It does not have the brand recognition as of yet, even though they are working towards it. But ultimately you said that the 228i is overpriced, which is incorrect especially compared to other German cars, it doesn’t compete with the Genesis, a G70 is attempting to compete with the 3 series. My buddy has a G 70 2.0t Prestige, Using my Vbox the quickest he got was 6.1 seconds, 5.0 seconds in my car. I wonder why Hyundai/Kia won't integrate some type of VVT. My wife's 2021 Tucson gets significantly less gas mileage than my 2020 gas only RAV4 despite the Tucson being smaller and lighter and the RAV4's engine is slightly larger with more HP. 2.5L versus the Tucson's 2.4L, both naturally aspirated. The only difference I can think of is the RAV4 has VVT-i and the Tucson has no type of variable valve timing at all. Is Hyundai/Kia just not there yet with the technology enough to make it reliable or something? It's not like VVT of any sort is a new thing.

Oh, the Tucson only has GDI whereas the RAV4 has both GDI and port injection, so maybe that's another difference, too.
