I purchased my '15 RC-350 F Sport early last year with 43k miles, back when you could still find them for under $30k. It's harder to find them now for that price. I've racked almost 13k miles in the last year, and I can say, it's been a joy to own. One doesn't purchase this car for its performance - if you do, you'll be disappointed. My first vehicle was a '95 Toyota Corolla, and that car racked 200k miles (and sold it to a friend, who's still driving it!). I then went to Subaru (because I thought they were reliable - now that was a mistake). Went back to Toyota because it proved itself to me. This vehicle is heavy, but that's part of the reason you buy one - comfort. Just like Topher said, it's a GREAT daily driver. If you want speed, then lease an M340i or similar, and don't worry about the maintenance costs after 2-3 years. However, as someone who keeps their cars long-term, I love the nearly maintenance-free cost of ownership of this vehicle. It has just enough power that if you want to have a little fun, the 300hp doesn't disappoint. No matter what car you buy, there's always one that's going to be faster than you. Having the ability to be comfortable day in and day out, out of a reliable Toyota/Lexus makes it worth it, in my opinion.

I bought my Lexus RC350 Fsport AWD only 28k miles for $28,000 plus tax $32,000. I was talking to the Lexus dealership the last person who had it was a lease so he took good care of it. it’s been sitting there at the dealership for quite a while. I live in Minnesota so not a lot of people wanna have coupes store for most of the year. It snows for 6 months. I drove my Lexus all winter without any problems through 8 to 10 inches of snow plus I have snow tires so the traction is amazing. For anyone who never experienced driving with adaptive variable suspension it’s such a game changer my 2019 Avalon Touring has it. It rides so different in a good way compared to the other vehicles I’ve had in the past
@jl4081 Жыл бұрын
It’s a great way to drive, I can change it to 4 different settings in my car. Auto/street, sport, track and custom. Custom is great when you want auto/street suspension but sport or track transmission and steering. And supposedly it adapts to what your going over as well. It’s not as good as say a high end Mercedes that scans the road and adapts the suspension for potholes, bumps etc. But my car isn’t a luxury car it’s a muscle car so there will always be trade offs. But it does a great job for what it’s built for and if I want there’s a aftermarket Electronic suspension module that improves each mode, from what I read Mopar left a lot of headroom for improvements and this will make auto/street mode way more comfortable for shit roads and sport and track are leagues better then stock. And you can customize it yourself as well and best part it’s plug and play. So there is an option to make it much better if I want it

I bought a used 2018 RC350 Fsport RWD a year ago , and the best way to sum up this car is : it’s a jack of all trades , but a master of none . And that is just fine . This car is more of a grand tourer , it can be comfortable and cushy or change the suspension settings and it stiffens up to be more sporty , with a good balance , not too harsh . Power wise , it’s not as slow as made out to be , the RWD version does 60 in 5.7 , it can hold its own and still get almost 21 mpg in town when driven properly …. it’s smooth and sounds great when revved . Interior is subjective, but the Roja red interior looks beautiful to me . This car always gets a lot of hate , and if I were in the market for a new one I would just take my money and plunk it down on a used RCF , but everyone has different wants/needs .

The 6 speed manual shifts are decently fast when the revs are high (ie. see 13:03 in this video when Chris upshifts from 3rd to 4th), and the car feels very confidence inspiring around bends. Lexus drivers (other than LFAers) generally don't seek high HP cars but rather cars that handle well, hold their value and are reliable. The RC 350 does have enough power and the handling is perfect. It is solid, takes all roads without issues and can manuever without much hassle. I tested the IS as well but it just seemed to be too...youth oriented. One thing I love about the RC is you don't see other versions on the road. Nice to see a "regular" RC on the channel again. In the local Lexus meetup group we have a member with an Infrared RC and my goodness, that color looks great in the sun. It is really strange if the RC indeed doesn't have lane centering. My '21 IS 350 does have lane centering, and I actually think it does a good job. Not perfect, as sometimes it can get confused as to what's a lane line versus just some etching on the pavement - fun times. But on nicer-paved highways it is perfect. My ASC also remains off btw, I just cringe at the fake-sounding piped in audio.

@ARentz072 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what "handling straight out of 2010" is supposed to mean, but this thing will take corners really nicely. I can't think of another car in this price category with double-wishbone front suspension other than the FWD-based Acura TLX, which is not even in the same ballpark in terms of chassis balance and also weighs a lot more. I will say, the all-seasons that the car comes with from the factory are terrible. New tires alone make a huge difference, and I would recommend budgeting for some if you plan to drive this in the mountains or in any spirited fashion. I guess you didn't watch the video and hear that Chris actually likes the car a lot in spite of it being somewhat dated when it comes to the drivetrain and tech. For me, I couldn't justify going RC, since it costs more than an IS and has two fewer doors AND is somehow heavier than an IS. So I ended up getting a '21 IS 350, and it is my favorite car I've owned ever. Mine is RWD though, so I do have the 8-speed, which is a decent transmission - sure, it's not as nicely programmed as the ZF in the wife's BMW, but it is pretty smooth and does the job in the twisty bits. I just really like the look and seating position of the RC, but the IS is undoubtedly more practical - same great chassis though.

There is only one reason to get the RC350, and that's for looks. Otherwise it weighs more than the 'new' IS, has less interior room, less practicality and it costs much more. I wouldn't be surprised if Lexus kills it off and doesn't bring it back when its life cycle is over, because the 2021+ IS is a better car that has updated tech (ie. touchscreen infotainment, electronic parking brake) and much sharper looks, more practicality, for less money and with the same build quality. It isn't built from a frankenstein platform like the RC, which has components from the IS Convertible and GS. As for the V6 and 6AT - I have a '19 IS350 AWD F-Sport myself, with the same powertrain, and it's true that it is outdated. It was designed for an era of performance 8 years ago. The manual shifts are slow when you're driving the car normally, but speed up when driven hard (13:03 is the best example of how fast it shifts when the car is driven hard). However, I still think it's a good engine/transmission combo because it shifts smoothly and quickly when left in auto mode. In other words, it's still a fast car with more than enough power for daily driving. A lot of people commenting on the car's lack of power haven't actually even test driven one, let alone owned one for any length of time.

@@Jay-sb2xs Yes. That doesn't change the fact the RC isn't a sports car.

A "sports" car for well over 50k that limps along to mid 5's to 60? Complete deal breaker for starters. Center console is another no go for me...my own taste i guess.. The term "dated quality" amused me...Load this up for 60 or would you drive a new M340 for the same price with fewer options? Or base price the 4-door 500 with "dated quality" for 62+? Which will give you less brain damage in the shop? The Lexus of course. Is it enough to override the M340 that really scoots down the street with far better MPG. Not for me.

@cultofmodernism84772 жыл бұрын
They have a twin turbo V6 in the LS500. There's now a hybrid turbo V4 with ~350 HP and over 400 lbs of torque. Lexus is slowly moving towards newer powertrains.

Well I think why it's overpriced is that you are paying for a car that is still gonna drive 70-80% the same by the time you already have your grandchildren but I wish starting price at this is abt 35k I guess and even without air suspension it's still comfortable I mean lexus cars that have air suspension they givs up in abt a decade or so it's up to you to replace it with another air suspesion or just a normal one that's my opinion.
