Of course "All-wheel drive" on Mazda has nothing to do with Suburu's synchronous all wheel. If you live around a lot of snow there is no other choice. Suburu's traction control system actually saved my life a couple of times (turned me from 90 degrees and sliding into a tunnel (Colorado) to straight on and not dying. Truly impressive. I have seen all the vehicles in real deal snow only Suburu and Audi do the trick (probably mercedes 4matic would do it too but not many drive those in the mountains).

I love that Mazda gave it standard AWD, and I really like the lighting upgrade, which makes it look even more upscale. That said, there are few more "air balls" for me. The updated bumper up front makes it look older than the 2021, IMO. The expanse of black plastic seem to date the vehicle. I also think Mazda could eliminate a few of the trims. Preferred and Turbo should be rolled into the Premium Plus, with the Carbon trim still being able to get the turbo since it also allows the beautiful red interior. Finally, your test drive proves why Mazda needs to ditch the 6 spd. It harms both performance and fuel economy of the base engine, and does not allow the turbo to shine. A 7 or 8 spd DCT would do wonders for the "zoom-zoom' brand. Mazda needs to seriously roll out a new gen. I hope they make a small RWD version based on their upcoming architecture.

@@myNEONCITY yes too hard! I’m traveling now from Oklahoma to Florida and back. The lights on the previous years look better. The fronts with the long line running in front of and behind the circular light looks better and as he mentioned you get fog light in the older model. The rear lights look terrible the way they stick out, like the CR-V. The wheels are more ugly. The all silver looks way better. Mazda is simply following styling trends of other manufacturers as the general human psychology is they want to be like the rest of the herd (look the lights are more like what they look like on the BMWs! I want lights that look like that!) At least Mazda didn't introduce flat "cement" paint colors, both "cement" paint colors and black wheels (both ugly styling trends that for some reason people like) will be out of style in a couple years. Also, Mazda claims (not mentioned in this video) they improved the seats in the 2022 but from the looks of it and reports from people that had previous years and sat in a 2022 any changes were extremely subtle in these already mediocre seats (love this car, but go sit in a Volvo to see what well designed seats feel like.) The main benefit of the 2022 is the suspension tuning to be a bit less harsh while not sacrificing handling inching it a little closer (but still a little behind) the handling prowess of BMW/Audi/etc.

I am from Saudi Arabia. We have 2021 at a price that is $1,200 less than 2022 at the moment, with exactly the same equipment as the standard package that I want to buy. Do you advise me to pay for 22 or is it not worth it and save for 21 if there is no difference?
@jeffc6059 Жыл бұрын
@@o2p2a It really comes down to whether you conisder $1,200 is (a) a small amount of money (b) a medium amount of money or (c) a large amount of money. :) $1,200 may be different to someone making $50K a year versus someone making $100K a year. Let's assume (b) a medium amount of money given your are buying around a $30K car. I would get the 2022 for $1,200 more mainly because they tuned the suspension to be a little less harsh without compromising handing. Essentially they made it a little closer to how a BMW or Audi drives where the handling is superb without being too harsh (although those brands still have an edge over Mazda, Mazda is getting pretty close.) The other changes would just be small bonuses (like slightly better seats.) Also if you were getting the trim level that has fenders the same color as the car, that is a pretty nice looking upgrade from 2021. But I'd say the slightly improved suspension tuning for a better ride is worth the $1,200 alone.
