I bought g550 for the exact reasons you mentioned. It boils down to personal preference. Sport mode is fast enough for me. I have a sports car to drive fast 😂

Fuel economy wise , probably not a good idea ... G class has one of the highest coefficient of drag among modern vehicles. A V12 would be overkill for current mpg numbers

Well now you made me want the 550. Great job Ben! When I win the lottery and move to Utah and we get GWagons as company cars, which one are you getting? I have to get one to keep here in Florida for my yacht crew to drive and pick up things like groceries (or provisions as they are known), jet skis, tenders, and other equipment although I could,leave an Escalade or Explorer there. But anyways, what one are you taking?

The G is about off road prowess. The G63 is actually WORSE off road than the G550. So the better choice is the G550. The G63 is also rougher on road, and more difficult to drive smoothly.

Why are the side exhaust in the AMG bad for off road??? Also, how safe Is the side exhaust when it comes to exiting the vehicle? Especially if you have children? Looks like it would be super hot in the exit area and you should have the car turned off at all times

That G550 does have the adaptive dampers, they just don’t offer a button to adjust it on the G550. Only way you can adjust the dampers in the 550 is through the drive mode settings. It is stupid. I have adaptive suspension and AMG sport (valved) exhaust on my 550, but there are no switches on the center console…just blank switches. 🤦🏼‍♂️

The one that I’m getting is the G550 because the 2023 is way more expensive😊 I’m going to the place where my dad bought his truck. It is a GMC pick up truck he used to have a Tacoma pick up truck. I’m definitely getting the G5 50 love the video !!!!!!!🫶🏻

These are nice vehicles. They last a long time. Nothing really negative to say about them, they're German so typically a good car. I just don't like that the price went up over $100 grand, literally $100 000 over the last 10-20 years. When I was in college I said WOW I want one of those, one day I'll get one. Back then the brand new one's were about $100 000. Now they're over $200 000! I could leave a wholeeeeee bunch of ? marks??? to the point where it becomes annoying. Or I could just say, there is/was nothing to justify the price increase. This is one overpriceddddd SUV. I understand making them a TAD more expensive than the Escalades but $200 000+. Nooo sorry I won't be buying one. Cool vid though. Sup Ben!

Right lol. One could buy a 2022 Gladiator put BIG 37's on it AND a Grand Cherokee Limited for HALF the price $120 000 of the G-Wagon lol. Over the last ten years the price of the G-Wagon went from just over $100 000, $114 000 to overrrrr $200 000 lol. Nothing to justify the price increase THAT much. Not even close lol. Also if you've never owned a Jeep I have owned several now and BY FAR, by farrrr the nicest SUV I have ever owned. My favorite is y far the Grand Cherokee Limited. Most comfortable fun, relaxing all season drive I have ever had. Even more comfortable than my 2020 RAM Rebel which is almost double the price lol.

Jeep is not what it used to be. It’s far worse than it’s competitors. Also the interior, the quality and reliability is below average. G CLASS might have some reliability issue recently ( for business maybe ) but still the quality, the off road capability, the looks and the name Mercedes is enough to get you going while people appreciating your car.

It’s not always about the people or to impress girls but it’s also about aesthetic and quality.Also comparing a car with a watch is not a brilliant thing to do. It’s true not many people care about expensive watch but many people with high status do care about an expensive watch. You never know when you’re going to meet someone with high status or with no status who is interested about watch like you might add more to talk about with that person or he/she might think you’re a man with class. But no one cares about you or me or anyone at the end of the day yet no one can deny the fact that you’re driving an expensive car, no one can deny you’re driving a v8, no one can’t deny you’re driving with class. If people want to appreciate, I’m sure many do then these things will first come to their mind. Of course it’s all about what you like, like you said you like your jeep and i like a Mercedes G class ( I don’t own a Mercedes or jeep ). Before you invest your money in a car nowadays we can see tons of reviews on the web and if you see jeep is pretty undesirable. Most people who gave negative reviews about jeep i bet some of them has driven much cars and more knowledgeable about cars more than you. I’ve seen mechanics who don’t like jeep that much also some of them love them. But if you see the reviews of G class at least 90 percent has given a positive feedback. Expensive things comes with expensive maintenance but you should be prepared for it and have a plan then you can drive any car with peace of mind. About the price increase you replace G class with jeep and I’m sure the price will increase ten fold, it’s all about supply and demand it’s all about business at the end of the day. If someone is laughing at me or at anyone who is driving a G class trust me that person doesn’t care a bit because at the end of the day that person is driving a luxurious suv and living his life to the fullest in the street. Take a selfie with your jeep and take a selfie with a G class upload it on insta and you will know what i mean. But like i and you said it’s all about what you like to drive it’s all about you. Also a lot of girls knows more about cars than men i’ve seen it. It’s not the 60s welcome to 2022. You can be unlucky/lucky with girls if you drive a jeep or a corolla or a G class. So better grow up.
