The megacab actually increases the payload on a 3500 while decreasing payload on a 2500. Im loving my 21 3500 HO. Heres what I noticed.. I towed with the truck over the passes in Colorado with about 500mi on the truck and I have to admit, I was a little disappointed. I was pulling Loveland pass at 47-48mph compared to my deleted and tuned 15 3500 HO pulling the same 20k trailer at 53-55mph. Well, pulled the pass again coming from UT now with 8700mi in the truck and it pulled it between 55-57mph! So there must be a breakin power limiter in the ECU or something. I felt the truck became more powerful as mileage went up. I was very happy after pulling the pass again.

Most diesels will do better after they're broke in around 15-20000 mi.

Hey, Ben. The factory usually ships the HD trucks with around 80 psi in the tires. They ride much better with about 60 in the front and 50 in the rear when empty.

I have a new limited mega 3500 white night ( no sun roof = no leaks) put 35x11.5 on factory rims np. HO, Asin, 3.73. This deffinately needs the 8 or 10 spd if you want to save fuel, but i think with the power it could handle the 3.42 ratio. I have a 24' deckover trailer and a 8000# JD tractor pulling a 7° hill and it kept on pulling. Found top top of the stock power race a semi in the hills when pulling this setup @80mph up hills. With the new tires i can still break loose in 3 gears when pulling that much weight. This is my 3rd mega trade every 3yrs. The only thing that PISSES me off is i'm 6'5" and where ghey have placed the new buttons for the 4x4 switch leaves zero room for my right leg to be comfortable and a major law suit if im in a crash! I have the seat almost all the wat back but then my arms cant maintain a safe distance to steering wheel. Either move the controls or give the option for telescoping steering wheel.

This is honestly my dream truck, in flame red though with the chrome grill. Now I test drove a f250 platinum it was cool but not impressed, idk I’ve always been a ram fan boy since the ram in twister 😂 I’m currently saving up for this truck. Hopefully next year I will buy one

How do you tell it’s the High Output + Aisin without reading the window sticker?

Transmission dipstick will be on the drivers side of the engine bay for a High Output.

@@BenHardyCars Wait untill that 68 RFE breaks from not handling the weight on towing. They're better than they used to be but not as capable as the Aisin. It's a medium duty transmission. Never heard of fluid changes at 30k.

I’m sorry but these trucks are horrible, I have a 2019 Ram 2500 Megacab Limited, the transmission is horrible. Save yourself the trouble and buy a Ford or a gmc diesel

Everything else is better in a ram except the transmission!! You can do an Allison swap for about 15k ! Then it’s unstoppable!!
