Why do people seem to keep saying the lean angle is greater on the ST??? By Harleys own website they are both the same......Left and Right, 31 and 32 respectively.
@HDVIBE2 жыл бұрын
That is a good point. Lean angle is the same but the rear end is certainly higher with the shorter bags on the ST and the 1 inch taller rear shock. Perhaps more bag clearance is a better way to characterize the difference. Thanks for watching and commenting. Much appreciated. Ride safe 👍👊

Like I’ve discussed recently, between the Special, ST and CVO it comes down to what the rider’s ‘must haves’ are, and what they’re prepared to pass on. The value in each one is purely based on the rider’s needs.

I have the special. I never been able to drag the bags. The ST has the shorter bags is because the most of the performance oriented people want to go with an 2 into 1 exhaust which doesn’t look good with the stretched bags unless you run a 2nd ghost pipe. The shorter bags looks far better with 2 into 1 exhaust and does provide more clearance because they suspension is also slighter taller

Well I'm not sure there is too much to say if you have a 131. On the ST for the price you get the same motor as a CVO for an MSRP significantly less. Great vid Rick! I think that it all comes down to riding style. If you’re into big lean angles, you’re not looking for several paint options, and you want the largest engine stock engine displacement then the ST is the way to go. Having said that, a 114 engine has plenty of power, and the ‘Special’ has plenty to offer.

ST vs. CVO more likely for comparison since they both have the 117 with performamce cams from the factory. If you're not gonna spend anymore on accessories them CVO, but if you like riding solo and add or change most accessories then ST. IMO the ST feels better, more of a sporty feel and finally able to spend more on a higher RPM. The new ST M8 is amazing. Well tuned and worth it.

Its no different for touring than your standard SG. I put a 2up seat and passenger floor boards on my ST. Also bought a chopped tour pack for trips.
