I got my Manual a bit over a week ago. Only had to wait 6 months. Fun car. I've had V8 Toranas and a Brock, This is up there, and better looking than the 86.

Subaru BRZ/ Toyota GR 86 are dynamically identical just some minor suspension tuning...however the more desirable option is a manual transmission, being an honest, balanced & affordable sports car through and through. Good review....;)

Sorry, you lost me when you said "More desirable automatic". Why would you waste such a beautiful car by putting an auto in it. And don't start on the extra safety features, just more rubbish I'd have to figure out how to turn off. My manual BRZ S Coupe is absolutely magnificent.

Most coupes don’t even have the rear seat option. Works for that quick child drop off locally in a pinch, or throw a pet back there.

I ordered the S, manual in WR Blue. Delivery pre Xmas I hope. Looks much better than the 86 in IMO. Like the full size spare. Couldn't give a rat's about the back seat room. Leave the kids, Nanna etc at home or buy a people mover. MX5 doesn't have any, makes the BRZ look roomy. Why manual? It's a "drivers car" plus I like to pay attention when driving, not let the car do all the thinking, while I txt, take selfies, see how many "likes" I have or put my make up on. Who doesn't like being in a "sporty, light weight, well balanced body"🤔

I have one of the first 500. Manual, naturally. WR Blue, naturally (what other colour could you want a sports Subaru in?). Seriously fun - you won't be disappointed.

@@peterg2345 My thoughts exactly. I do think they look great in any of the colours except black. WR Blue may be common, as most of the demo cars I have seen are but I like it and there are many ways to personalise a car, if one feels the need to be different, I don't. I likes what I likes, as they say. Congratulations on getting in early. I was looking at Mustangs but couldn't justify the price, new or used and the fuel usage, when I came across the BRZ. The looks, price and "fit of purpose" design thinking, sold it for me. Every review and comments like yours, confirm the choice.

@@jacobbeattie650 No, I can say what I like, thanks. If you don't like it well, ........tell someone who cares, I don't. The point I was making is the auto comes with all those annoying warning beeps, alarms etc, more of a distraction than a driving aid, IMO. Besides, the manual is cheaper, another benefit for those , mouthy, young folk dealing with high rent, house prices and interest rates!😂😂😂

Subaru tells me that the transmission oil is lifetime. Never change it. Yeah, OK sure. Another great video. Jenny... the ring on your left hand looks very cool.

Call me old school but I'm very OK with the retro feel dials and buttons. Push on / push off and not a spasm enducing navigation event to find the stupid volume or temp control. Drove the auto and it's more than enough oomph for us tx. One benefit of a limited allocation is just that - not many on the road and they are kind of different to most same same hatch boxes. Not everyone's cup of tea but buy a Golf R or Hyundai N30 if you want a turbo or appliance on wheels.

EVs are comparatively expensive, limited options, finding charging stations in WA is a pain, 4x4 EV not yet common, not entirely convinced that they are more environmentally friendly to produce. Maybe ok for you but possibly 2030 for us.
