My car originally recommended charging daily to 90%, so I did that. Then it went to 80%, so I did that. Then I rewatched a few battery videos with Jeff Dahn and concluded that 74% is the best for high-nickel chemistries. The range is still plenty for daily use.
@TheDrivenDave11 ай бұрын
I didn't know about 74%. I usually drive 120+ miles per day, so 80% is sometimes cutting it a little close.

Cheers to you! Too bad they don’t have a special trade in credit for people like us. Oh well! At least it’s a great car. I’m glad to hear you like FSD. I tried it and it wasn’t my cup of tea, but I can see a good use for it under certain conditions. Most importantly, I’m glad you are happy with it!

Great video, thanks for sharing. Liked and Subscribed. 43k miles is wild. Folks who charge at home are always discouraging people from buying ev. It really depends on where you live, and how you use your car. I know plenty of people who live in apartments in the city and suburbs who can't charge at home. What these folks living in the other parts of the country don't know, is these long range Tesla's give you 350-420 miles of range in the city. They can go over week without charging (you couldn't/LoL) and if you find one near a store or restaurant, you can easily find yourself rushing back to not incur overcharges. My car, M3LR, has about 20k miles but has been getting 225 wh/mi.

Thanks for watching! Getting ready to post my 2yr 83K mile review. I’ve changed my view on charging since filming this after talking to several people that don’t charge at home. You’re absolutely right that it can work out great depending on your use case. I blast through 60-80% charge almost every day, so my view is biased. I wish I could get you wh/mi. I’m averaging 277! What tires are you running? I got the Nokian One and my efficiency went to crap😭
@aaronbounds133611 ай бұрын
Not too far behind you: 14 months, 3 days of ownership and 38K miles. Higher than average, for sure, but not way high.

It handles the miles well! I've done another 7k since I filmed this video. No issues!

I have never understood the, "I can't buy another M3 after the price fall." Dont the resale price fall in line with the new price. Obviously you lose 20% on leaving the forecourt with any new car.
@TheDrivenDave11 ай бұрын
It’s lost way more than 20%, but I know cars are usually a loss. Just disappointing is all. Great for the newer buyers.

These cars are great! If you can find one for $20K it's going to be an amazing car for the money. Even though I'm super bummed about the loss in value, I still love my car. It takes care of me on my long days and hundreds of miles. Let me know how it turns out for you.

Remove or lower the volume on music, it adds nothing to how you are using it and only makes it worse. Second, don’t be one of those guys asking for people to help you out and subscribe before you provided ANY value. Good luck with the channel.

Honest review the home charging part got me really. Not supposed to charge it up everyday personally I think it’s silly everyone doesn’t have a house so it really got to be mindful I pay 12 a month sounds better than paying each time I go still not expensive as paying for gas but telling someone not to get a ev if you don’t have a home charger was the stupidest shit to say 😂😂😂
@TheDrivenDave9 ай бұрын
I’m glad it’s working out for you. To be clear, I wasn’t criticizing anyone for not having a home charger, just that the main convenience of an EV is being charged up while you’re home. Thanks for watching.
