If you would have asked me a year and half ago which one I’d buy, I would have said the madone, but since the new Emonda has come out, I would definitely go with one of those.
@fernandogutierrez61602 жыл бұрын
yes, before 2021 I was madone fan, but after this new emonda was released, I replace mi old madone for a new Emonda 2022, Madone is sexy but Emonda is a sensual bike.

Madone is faster, I have an Emonda SLR but struggle to stay with the fastest people on the downhills who have aero bikes. Flats are fine and we are evenly matched but climbing I take the cake, huge, no one comes close on a climb. FYI I use flats, don't laugh, everyone is shocked. I think the Aero makes a difference at higher speed, the faster you go the more it counts but when I Tried the two bikes I liked the Emonda's responsiveness and just... "elan". It seemed to want to do what I tell it more instantly so much better, a far more playful bike. It's great for just tossing around curves, accelerating and braking, perhaps not maintaining but transferring momentum from one energy state or the other better. The Madone is more stable but doesn't want to change line in corners. You point and it goes and keeps going but it doesn't want to change what its doing so if you're going fast it wants to keep going fast, it won't turn as quick, you feel the pressure shoot you forward on the pedals a bit less. It maintains energy a bit better but doesn't change energy as quick. They are both fantastic bikes; the Emonda feels more like a 2 door sports car, the Madone like a powerful turbo Mercedes or BMW sedan if that makes sense. Being an "aggressive" cyclist I chose the Emonda.

That makes complete sense to me. Thanks for the detailed comment.

@@AllThingsSportsMikeMcIntyre Simply put, the Madone is probably better for people who live by the numbers on Strava and "feel the speed". The Emonda is better for riders who just like to rip roar and "feel the power". But perhaps the final thing that did it for me is that I live in hilly country with lots of wind. And the Madone dies in wind. Those big dish tires just get you sent everywhere because the only time the Madone does well in wind is when you're riding directly into it. But the slightest crosswind and the Emonda's lower profile wheels help. A lot. Emonda was made for the hills and mountains not just for climb...

@@user-if4sh4fe1f Yup. Madone is for very high speed steady cruise down an autobahn. Emonda is for tearing up a curvy mountain road. Depending on your riding personality that is the delination. I liked the Emonda better and LOVE it for attacking hills and mountain passes.

Very concise good video. When you took the time to compare the geometry of the bikes, that’s telling. I would’ve thought the Madone was more sleeker & put you into an even more tucked riding position. Thanks

I think you given an informative video and thanks. I would like to know which bike would be good for me. I live in Florida all flat of course and haven’t ridden in years with a 2007 Madone 5.2 SL because of a heart attack. I am 55 years old and thinking a Cervelo s5 or r5 or Madone or Edmonda. No sprints, no racing just cruising the streets for the physical condition. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

@Angelo Said So using the same wheels back to back on both bikes the Madone is just easier to maintain speed. The faster you go the more rewarding the Madone is.

I’d figure that since the frame on the Madone is chunkier. Then it wouldn’t be good for lots of climbing? Am I wrong? Where I live there’s nothing but peaks n valleys of hills. Some of which total 17 degrees for 3/4 of a mile.
